The ritual of coming together sharing wine and food with family and friends is the central motif in our lives. Italian food has an immediacy, honesty, and warmth; it possesses the spirit of a grandmother's wisdom and love. Italian food isn't about trailblazing alchemy or edible high fashion; Italian food is about staying connected—to each other, to the past, to the earth.
We love everything about Serafina, but tonight the server was especially skillful.
Best Italian food in Seattle and great staff all around.
One of our favorite Seattle Italians, especially with out-of-town guests. The only downside is noise.
One of the top 3 date night restaurants in Seattle. So, so good.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner with our son and daughter-in-law on a beautiful Saturday night. Everything was perfect.
Very good experience: meal, attention and ambiance. We sat outside in the courtyard which is very pleasant on a nice evening. The service was well-paced, not rushed, which also made it for a pleasant, relaxed visit. The food was excellent. Overall - we highly recommend it.
Friendly and attentive service. Well crafted cocktails. Outstanding food. Personal favorite was the rigatoni bolognese. Gnocchi with rabbit was outstanding.
We always love our meal and time spent here. The halibut was amazing and I love the bruschetta as well which is like crostini with three topping you put on it.
We were a party of 6 and sat out on the patio. I had the tagliatelle with chanterelles, mint, peas and a light creme sauce. My husband had the pork chops, and daughter had the eggplant dish. Others had rigatoni bolognese and lasagne. We all had great entrees and desserts were also amazing. My husband and I want to return to have the eggplant, the bite I had was so delicious!
Very nice food, drinks, and desert. Service was great despite a busy night and a crowd of people coming into the bar area all at once. This made for a fair bit of noise level at different points, but the ambiance and overall experience was great. We will return soon!
Can't beat the patio on a lovely Seattle summer evening! Food is spot on, service lacking a bit. Felt a little dumped for a bigger table.
I would temper my recommendation with caveats. The menu is heavy on dairy and meat and pricey or what one gets. The atmosphere is lovely as was the server. Some of the food is mediocre but the eggplant continues to shine.
We went to Serafina while on a business trip. It was the first time I brought my husband along. The fabulous dinner and exceptional service by Grace made it a true occasion! Highly recommend. Thanks !
Attentive hostess and server. Bar is busy so unless you are sitting at the bar it's difficult to get a drink from the bar area. Seasonal menu and regular menus available. Melon gazpacho soup was very good and unique. Eggplant and rigatoni from regular menu was delicious. I've never had a bad meal here.
We had reservations for 6:30 dinner. We were seated promptly. Service was great. Food was very good. Drinks were innovative. All in all, a lovely time.
The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Was a bit noisy but didn't put a damper on the evening. Would highly recommend.
From the moment we walked in to the good-byes at the end of the evening, our experience at Sarafina's was excellent. The waiter was knowledgeable, helpful, attentive without being intrusive, and friendly. The food was well prepared, attractively served and absolutely delicious. To top it all of, we were a party of 6 and wanted a photo taken, but we were in front of a window with backlighting - the host suggested we step outside. He patiently took pictures of us until we got one we liked, all the while giving the impression that there wasn't anything else he'd rather be doing. We will recommend and we will be back!
Outstanding food, wine, service, and atmosphere. The rabbit pasta dish and eggplant parm were both fabulous. My wife and I are looking forward to going back soon.
Great food and service!! Very knowledgeable staff about their wine selection. A definitely neighborhood gem!!! We were there to celebrate our anniversary and engagement. The staff wAs very warm and friendly. Thank you for the great memories and service!! Will be back!!!
Celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary we decided to visit an old friend in Serafina. We hadn't been there in a while and thought it would be a nice place to get a little romantic. The table we were sat was in a very busy location. The noise and bustle around us almost required yelling at times to talk to one another. romance out the window for now! Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable. appetizers and dinner courses were ordered. The duck ravioli came first. absolutely delicious. My biggest disappointment was in the eggplant that followed. watery, burnt on top swimming in bland tomato sauce that i could have found in a jar of ragu. i didn't know that eggplant could be messed up but i guess everyone has a bad day. following a dinner disaster ( which yes i did finish ) we shared a lemon torte'. It wasn't that bad. a little soggy but very flavorful. Will we return to Serafina ? I'm sure yes, but with reservations. and i don't mean for seats ...
Love the feel of Serafina - relaxed, noise level is just great for a place this size too. Usually I rave about the food here and their specials have been amazing in the past. This trip, however, portions were very small, food a bit over cooked. There were also fewer options than I remember in previous visits. Overall it was good, but for this money, there are other options out there.
My wife and I went here for a date night and had an amazing time. Before we were seated, we stopped by the bar for cocktails, which was a great decision. Their handcrafted cocktail selection is solid and their bartender knows what he's doing. The food was great - my wife had their eggplant over angel hair pasta, I had their lasagna. We were seated outside in their courtyard. The atmosphere out there was perfect for a summer evening date night. I would definitely go again and recommend this to other couples looking for a date spot in the neighborhood.
Our waiter was terrific, the food was great, but the hostess would not seat our party of 5 until the last 2 arrived. Really annoying, and a missed opportunity for us to buy last of appetizers and converse comfortably. I likely will not plan a small group dinner here again.
Love it love it love it! This visit my hubby had the mussels which he loved as an appetizer and I had the amazing mozzarella and grilled artichoke salad! We forgot to take photos of these! We did get photos of our entrees which were the luscious salmon dish with a special pepper sauce and the special pappardelle pasta with morels in a goat cheese (it also comes with a special meat but they made it vegetarian for me - they are so sweet).
It’s our fave place and everyone is awesome!
Lovely, helpful staff. Equally wonderful meal. The noise level was excessive. Even the waitstaff struggled to hear orders and such
Great meal and wonderful service -- as always! We were there with friends to celebrate a birthday and the six of us were seated at the wonderful round table and each of us loved our meals (Bolognese (!!) loved by several, the plin, the cavatelli - all yum!), and the shared plates (several delicious salads, bruschetta). We will be back!
Expensive but fabulous. I could spend more and get less elsewhere, this place is one of a kind!
Great food and we loved our waiter, but the noise level was almost unbearable. Perhaps because we are all "mature", we could not possibly hear each other in normal conversation. We were told the new owner will install noise mitigation panels. The sooner the better.
I was told that Mondays are usually slow, but it turned out to be a busy Monday. The lighter staffing caused our meal to take a long time coming out of the kitchen as one chef was handling almost everything we ordered. This made the experience a little disappointing, but not enough for me to never come back. I loved the ambiance, and the staff were very friendly.
I took my daughter and friends there for for her SU graduation celebration. Overall it was a great evening with the staff very friendly and helpful, food very good, and atmosphere. Would go again for any reason at all.
The food used to be better. 1 of 4 dishes we got was good.
The food, ambience, and overall service is great at Serafina. If you plan on biking, ask the staff for help when parking your bike because the sidewalk is too narrow and they have a little space for them in the back. Make sure your server knows what you want because ours got our order wrong three times. Still 10/10 recommend for a cute date or family time.
We love everything about Serafina from the great bartenders, servers, managers, chefs, delicious food, and music we always are finding ourselves singing along to! 💕 h&d
Fantastic food with a great wine selection and friendly service.
A special day for us(49th wedding anniversary) was made even better by the service, food and setting at Serafina's. The day was hot, but the patio was quite comfortable and the water glass refills appreciated. I always recommend Serafina to people who have never experienced the food or atmosphere.
It’s been awhile since we Dined there. Still a nice atmosphere but the food was not as good as I remember.
We have eaten at Serafina for many years. Our salad and appetizer were excellent. Both past disches were not up to the usual high standards of Serafina. The pasta was firm and the sauces overwhelmed the pasta and other ingredients. We still love the place.
Highly recommended! Excellent service Started with a spicy octopus appetizer followed by Copper River salmon risotto that exceeded my very high expectations.
Our neighborhood restaurant with exceptional food and wine list and a wonderful staff that keeps us coming back.
Still our favorite restaurant in Seattle. The food is always good. The service is impeccable - even on a busy day. We particularly like the mussels (a must have for my chef mother when she visits). The wine recommendations are spot on.
