Seaview Restaurant at The Pegwell Bay Hotel
We look forward to serving you soon!
Lovely setting overlooking the bay. Excellent food, good customer service and quiet environment so chance for conversation
service was great have spent great lengths of time waiting for waiters so seeing staff within ear shot was good.the food was served as you would want from home the cold food chilled and hot food well not as some resteruants the reverse. enjoyed shrimp cocktail the shrimps were fresh not freezer fresh. the bay in the name gives an outlook worth travelling to see on a clear day you can see France.
Lovely food and service. But the menu online is different to the menu in the restaurant.... so I had already looked online at the menu and pre chosen what I was going to have, to then find out the menu was different when I got there (with not that many things on their I actually liked) which was a bit disappointing, I kind of had to make my own meal which ended up being a chicken breast, palma ham with a side salad for £15. It was lovely to taste but maybe just update the menu so it’s the same would be fab!! Going out for a chicken breast an side salad wasn’t quite like eating out!
We had a 3 course meal for our 1st wedding anniversary, food was excellent, very helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back
Good service helpful staff, great food, lack of ambience on the evening we went as the restaurant was empty, bit dated furnishings, will be returning!
My goodness how amazing was our visit. I have an allergy to milk. Not only were there options I could have. They even made me a dessert ad hoc because the only option i could have had I didn’t like. I am a great and loyal fan now.
Beautiful venue, excellent food, excellent service
Very lovely indeed. Just would have liked a bit more choice on the menu.
One starter portion was absurdly large, unnecessarily so and the beef and ale pie was inedible, I think the beef had been burnt. Thus we were very disappointed. The staff were charming and courteous and the location can't be bettered. Shame about a crowd of rowdies in the bar. Don't think I will be returning.
The food was a little disappointing. I had the roast dinner and the yorkshire puddings were like cardboard. I did mention this and the waitress very kindly brought a plate of yorkshire puddings but we had finished our dinner at that point! There was no stuffing but there was a sausage wrapped in bacon but this was very fatty and VERY cheap tasting. No offer of recompense for my poor dinner sadly.
Lovely family Sunday dinner at the Seaview, Pegwell Bay Hotel. Fab service. Nothing was too much trouble and the dinner was lovely! Thank you.
Food was great but not so great having to pay a premium for lamb on Easter Sunday no where on menus stated this
Food was perfectly acceptable pub grub. The restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday night but service was hit and miss. We would have had coffees but all the waiting staff had disappeared and by the time anyone came to take our plates we`d gone off the idea. The pub is local to me so will probably go again but not for a special occasion as just not very special.
We enjoyed the food with an interesting menu, our experience was spoilt by poor service.
We went at 17.00 hours and was quiet
We were served straight away and decided to have tap water which was in nice glass bottle
Food was very nice although pricy it depends how much you want to pay . We had cod and chips and scampi and chips ,
The outside balcony had fantastic view over the sea and will be lovely to sit there in the summer as it was rather cold being March when we visited
One slight problem the women toilets were up a few steps and my mums disabled but lucky she got up and down the steps
Unsure if they have disabled toilet and no idea the lay out of the men’s
Stunning views over to Pegwell Bay, sadly Rump Steak was overcooked, other dishes, Jackets, Monkfish, Mushrooms and wine were great.
Having been here before it was disappointing that not all food came at once especially as very quiet . Also felt rushed
Excellent food and the staff were lovely and friendly.
Usually the food here is brilliant but on this visit it wasn’t great.
We booked as a group of eight for a post Christmas lunch. The menu choices were very good and everyone found something they wanted. As it was post Christmas we went straight to main courses. The service was slow, we waited just under an hour for our food. No staff came to explain what the cause of the delay was and when we asked we were told our food was the next lot to come out. Our sense was that as it was holiday time perhaps they had less staff in the kitchen than they would normally have.
Most of the food was good. The only issue was the chicken curry that was a little dry, due to a lack of sauce.
We use Thorley Taverns a lot but plan to stick to the Charles Dickens in Broadstairs as the food there is consistent, and staff keep you advised if there are delays in service.
I booked for a family birthday meal at Sunday lunchtime & was very disappointed. My mum & sister ordered the roast beef Sunday lunch & was unable to eat the meat due to it being cut so thick & it being extremely tough. Vegetables served in a separate bowl, Brussels sprouts where rubber on outside & uncooked inside, carrots undercooked & red cabbage over cooked all lacking in seasoning. Gravy was like dishwater. My dad ordered the fish which came wrapped in brown paper with no easy way of getting to the fish, which unfortunately was full of bones & again unseasoned. I had the hot Belgium waffle for desert which was served cold & lacked imagination. Plenty of staff on shift all standing around talking not paying attention to the diners around them. Had to wait to long in between courses. All in all a very disappointing experience & we won’t be returning.
first time been welcome and sevice was very high and good staff frendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble food was outstanding and good value for money
We have visited here a few times, and decided to try the roast. e had beef, i had pork. Menu said traditional roast with mash, season veg roasties etc. Didnt think to ask what the mash would be, just assumed potato.
Meal arrived with what i think was sweet potato mash, red cabbage parsnips, roasties one yorkie and the meat. Not that hot either, the pork was cold and fatty. next time i want a roast ill goto a carvery. Staff were brilliant, pudding was lovely but for the money ill miss the roast next time.
Had a lovely evening service was excellent the food was wonderful will definitely come again
Meal was hideous, service was disgusting and my dad didn’t even eat his meal. Very disappointed I must say
service was terrible, was there for over 3 hours. Food was okay but wasn't worth the wait.. Wouldnt go again
Family Sunday Lunch was pefect . The food was amazing and excellent service
The thing that stuck out about our visit and previous visits are the lovely waiting staff. So nice to have smiling and friendly staff. It makes all the difference!
Good service, lovely food and lots of choice. The venue itself has beautiful views. Overall a lovely place to eat and will be visiting again in the future.
Lovely meal although calamari and my steak slightly over cooked but didn't ruin the meal. Staff were lovely. Went for a drink eleswhere after meal but chose to go back for remainder of the evening. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely return
Ate here because we were staying at the hotel opposite. The welcome and service were good. We had unfortunately reserved at the same time as a very large and rather noisy group, which somewhat spoiled the atmosphere, but I suppose that wasn't the restaurant's fault - although perhaps they could reserve another part of the restaurant for large groups? The choice on the menu was a bit limited, but the food was good and served quickly. This is perhaps more somewhere to eat at lunchtime or a summer evening so you can enjoy the views across the bay from the ouside seating area.
As always a beautiful Sunday roast. All cooked to perfection in a great location.
I haven’t been to this restaurant since the refurbishment and was very impressed the decor was nicely done. The food and service was good.
Excellent service ,good kids menu our 3 year old grandson's request s easily accommodated.
Great as always! The views are gorgeous the servic is great and always enjoy the food.
Lovely restaurant. Beautiful views over Pegwell and Sandwich. The staff were very friendly and just right in terms of attentiveness.
The food and service was lovely as always. My wife commented that the menu doesn’t change much- it would be nice to see some different things in the menu. Really good food though.
The views from the balcony always keep me coming back. The food was not consistently good but the coconut king prawn starter was a real treat. The Sea bass and Lamb were good. But the desserts completely let the meal down. My creme brûlée texture was that of scrambled eggs and the chocolate orange cheesecake was bland. Service was quick, but was let down by the waitresses lack of knowledge of both the food and drinks menu. Watching the sunset from the balcony still made for a perfect evening.
We were very disappointed. We couldn't see the view unless we stood up when dining inside. I had the fish and chips in a basket that were very oily and extremely difficult to eat out of the basket. When the Waitress came and asked if everything was ok I told her my problem and she laughed and then said oh sorry and walked away. We found the decor somewhat depressing although we did like the pictures. All in all not a good lunch outing
We ate mid-week before 6pm for a quiet birthday meal. Perfect time to visit, very quiet. The surf n turf we would highly recommended, prawns were so tasty and steak perfectly cooked. The highlight was the amazing view out over Pegwell Bay, we sat and had drinks after dinner, listening to the birds and watching the sun go down - peacefully, idyllic, lovely
