The food was lukewarm in temperature, and was way overpriced.
Be sure and check your bill - they were supposed to validate our parking ticket but didn't take it off the final bill.
The food was excellent and the chefs must have put in great efforts to prepare it just right. We couldn't find anything wrong with the restaurant and were very happy to have chosen it for the wife's birthday. Two thumbs up !
We had a wonderful evening at Seastar! Overall, it was great but we were disappointed in one dish we ordered. The plank mushrooms were overpowered by garlic! Don’t get me wrong, we love garlic (and mushrooms) but we couldn’t even eat this dish it was so strong. Sweet and sour soup was fantastic as well as the grilled octopus.
This was a lovely special event dinner for our family- service was exceptional and the food excellent. Definitely recommend their cocktails to start- unusual and tasty. The filet mignon was perfectly done as was the swordfish.
Absolutely incredible food! Service was kind and constant! Ambience was very low key and quiet! Wine list was unreal! Overall great experience! A little pricey but well worth it! Highly recommended!
outstanding food, fantastic new remodel and surer nice people working there.
We came for a birthday dinner date, hoping for spectacular sushi. I can’t rate the main seafood dishes as none were ordered, but it seems sushi is not Seastar’s best area. We expected amazing but received mediocre.
There were 2-3 unusual options such as the Washington Roll and a steak sushi roll, but both were not particularly tasty. My salmon sashimi was good, but I’ve had yummier (softer, melt-in-your-mouth) at a number of small, lesser-priced restaurants.
The service staff were friendly and expeditious. I appreciated the attention. I would not, however, return to SeaStar for sushi.
Very good food, very good service, 10/10
Get a new Sommelier. She never does what the customer asks. We asked her to bring both red and white bottles out at the same time and her response was she only has two hands and only brought the white. We wanted the red to have time to open up. On a previous visit we had a table of 8, asked her to open two bottles of red and she only opened 1, said she was busy and would come back to open the second one later. We drank the first bottle before she came back. Not a fan of her. Love the restaurant.
As always, this restaurant delivers. The food is delicious with many varieties to choose from on the menu. And the service is just right.
I hate it when I can't carry on a conversation at some other restaurants because the server is always there and has no resistance from interrupting diners' conversations. At Seastar, the service is kind and gentle and respectful of the diners. It's my go-to for a business lunch and will continue to be. Thank you!
Just a Friend’s lunch
20% service charge is ridiculous. We’ll look for a different restaurant the next time.
It is a great place to go for a celebration. Too expensive to drop in for lunch. Would recommend for business.
Great location and upscale interior.
Food was average and extremely overpriced.
Very nice restaurant with excellent seafood. Expect to dine with upscale patrons dressed pretty formally. The wait staff and menu are unparalleled. The food on the menu is pretty bold - adventurous foodies will die for this place.
Oysters! Fresh, delicious oysters! Sea star also has a fine wine selection and full bar. Provided nearby parking was an added bonus. Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar is a great dining choice in Bellevue, from appetizer to dessert.
We
Had a nice group gathering for restaurant week. Staff was wonderful. Food was good for most (4/5). Worth the try. Multiple good experiences.
As always, great food, great service. I enjoy that there are options for fish that are not over sauced and let the high quality food shine. This is a great choice for lunch or dinner in Bellevue.
Seastar consistently delivers an enjoyable experience in terms of food quality and service. We stumbled in on a crowded scene on the last day of Restaurant Week. They were jammed but kitchen and staff came through in every respect. The recently added NW stock fish stew was a great addition. This is a dish that is easily ruined if overcooked it can turn into rubbery cioppino, but it was cooked to perfection, with the clams, mussels, fish and shrimp all as tasty as could be.
My smoked salmon pasta was super salty. They took it off of my bill but it was disappointing. My girlfriend also had the same dish but they didn’t address her bill.
I have been to SRW over 4 times at this restaurant and the main dish portions were smaller this time. Unfortunately it wasn’t as good an experience this time.
Good ambiance, good food. We had lunch during the Seattle Restaurant Week $20 for a soup and a main entree, which was a great value for this high end restaurant right in downtown Bellevue.
Good food. Like it.
I was expecting an outstanding meal considering this is a John Howie restaurant but was very disappointed. The halibut was overcooked and drowning in sauce. A seafood restaurant chef should know how to cook fish and let it shine. My friend's salmon was about 4 ounces and had two little pieces of asparagus. My other friend had salmon linguine that had more sauce than noodles and the flakes of salmon looked like cat food. The food is overpriced and not good. I will stick with dining at AQUA by El Gaucho.
awesome place for lunch, Seastar does lunch far better than they can do dinner. I would not recommend dinner at Seastar, having tried dinner here twice in the past, but I've always enjoyed lunch at Seastar. Not sure if they had different chefs on different shifts, but every time I visit, I notice lunch was vastly and significantly better than dinner.
Had the Restaurant Week special. The soup was good but the risotto was very bland. I don't think it was a good value for $20. Also they only validate parking for 90 minutes. We stayed a little longer than that so I had to pay $6. It turned out to be a lot of money for a mediocre meal.
Wow! Amazing!
Our server was pleasant and helpful.
The food was to die for! We did restaurant week so we really got our monies worth.
The chicken literally melted in my mouth and my dinner date still talks about her coconut dessert.
I will definitely be back for my birthday dinner!
Perfect, glad to see the general manager actually out talking and also helping clear tables
My wife’s birthday dinner with the family. Seastar is always one of our favorite restaurants. Great to enjoy it during Seattle Restaurant Week too.
The food and service was outstanding but we were seated at a table close to the entrance where the wall covering was a silver metallic like subject which was totally covered with dust. This was very unappealing and certainly detracted from making the evening meal a truly perfect event. I can't believe no one from the serving staff didn't see how dirty the wall appeared.
My new favorite restaurant 😊 I’m definitely coming back with my friends and family.
I had lunch with a friend to celebrate a birthday. The food and service were wonderful. We didn’t feel rushed by the wait person and had plenty of time to enjoy our visit.
We were close to a very loud couple and ended up leaving early as we couldn’t hear.
First time to dine here...thanks to the promotion of Seattle Restaurant Week.
Dined during Restaurant week and greatly enjoyed our selections. For the noise level rating , energetic isn't the proper description I would give but none of the choices seemed to apply. It was just plain noisy. I certainly wouldn't go there for a romantic evening.
Everyone was so inviting and polite. Many people came by to check on our table. The water was always full and the restaurant was busy.
The hearty fish stew was outstanding. I wanted to lick the plate. Lots of seafood and fish, that was tender and delicious.
The coconut cake was a huge hit with the table.
I am looking forward to returning just for the stew.
Good service and wonderful food. We had a great time and will be back!
Great service and food.
People sitting next to us were extremely loud and obnoxious. Food was good for the most part. My son and daughter didn’t like their smoked salmon linguine. I loved my stealhead and my husband was very happy with his talapia
Always an overall very good experience!
Service was a bit disappointing. Our waitress went on break after we were served our main course and we had to wait 15 minutes before we asked another server about our dessert.
The Brussel Sprouts on my dinner plate were almost raw instead of being roasted.
We have eaten here several times, and this experience did not measure up to previous visits.
