Serving fusion dishes bordering on technicolour food art, Sash Restaurant on Chapel Street in Windsor is pulling in a crowd.

An ideal blend of restaurant and bar, this funky night spot is all sleek, dark spaces with neon signs and downlights, creating a moody, jazzy vibe, from a vibrant wall mural to bench tables overlooking the tap room. Sash’s original menu concept takes dishes from around the globe and fuses them with Japanese flavours – resulting in taste sensations like spicy tuna tacos, Japanese inspired pizzas and other great ‘Izakaya’ options.

Salivate over signature Kingfish sashimi, orange daikon wakame salad, wasabi crème, yuzu ponzu, baby shisho and roe; while the roast duck buns with kimchi shoots and honey hoisin are also sure to tempt, teamed with a Geisha Girl cocktail.

The food was great! Unfortunately the music volume was way to loud.. It was difficult to have a group conversation (the music style was good)

Finally after all the hype on Facebook and Instagram, we all made a time to get together after work to come and dine in at sash. The atmosphere is pretty cool, the music was chill and it looked like a club. On our arrival, we waited at least 5 minutes at the door before anyone wanted to greet us. We had to sit at the bar even though we booked ahead of time. Nobody took our order. A couple walked in and they got seated instantly. VIPs I expect because the male staff stood there speaking to them for what seemed to be the longest wait to get his attention to order our drinks. When the drinks finally came, it was watered down by the ice, our food arrived quicker then our drinks.. I don’t know if this is normal? It was quiet so I don’t see where the problem is in making our cocktails? The food is tiny, the tacos are smaller than the size of my palm and the nuggets for $16 is not worth it, for 5 small pieces? crispy prawns should be renamed to soggy prawns and the broccoli pizza we ordered was tasteless. Sash is overreacted.

The service was amazing fun and a wonderful experience.
One staff member stood out above all I forget her name she was the our Asian hostesses.
This staff member made our night fun and so enjoyable, I’m going to recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family.

They overcharged us with both food and drinks, I questioned it at the time and they took the extra food items off the bill but when I got home I realised that they had over charged us for the drinks awsell. The waiters were too busy talking and flirting to each other to do their job properly. However food was great

Amazing / had my birthday here with 14 guest, Kyle and the team accommodated for us and went above and beyond. I’ll be back next year, for sure. Great food, perfect portion sizes and as I’ve already mentioned what an amazing mix of food (Japanese fusion), great host - entertaining and friendly, amazing vibe of the place. Highly recommend! Can’t stress how happy I was with the night, you guys are incredible

I have been to Sash a number of times and it seems nothing will ever come close to my first experience there (which was absolutely amazing!). Unfortunately this time, we had to actively seek out a waitress and request that we be able to place both drink and food orders throughout the entire evening. Food was being delivered to wrong tables left, right and centre. Our food came out cold - the prawn sliders I remember had hot, fresh crispy prawns. These were cold, wilted and soggy. We had ordered sushi that after 60minutes had not arrived, which they attempted to rectify with the kitchen (thank you) and we also ordered dessert (being assured the sushi would arrive before the dessert). Unfortunately this also didn’t occur, our sushi was never found and out came the dessert. We were offered to eat our desserts first and then our sushi would come when it was ready — we decided to cancel it instead after having waited a further 30minutes.
The team also thought that the music should be pumping at 6.30pm - we were all yelling across our tables to try hear each other. On each Occassion it was requested that the music be turned down a fraction, no sooner did we watch them turn it back up again. It resulted in fractured conversations and an unenjoyable experience.

We visited New Years Eve and selected the feed me menu. The food wash beautifully prepared and presented. The mix of ingredients was imaginative and the flavours blended very well.
Portion size was generous. The cocktails were equally interesting and very tasty. The venue provides a good choice for either casual or semi formal eating experiences.
Jordan the manager was excellent and Lyndsay our waitress was fantastic. There attention to us was excellent for the whole evening.
I would highly recommend Sash to people who enjoy food with some interesting twists.

Food is great but service not so much. From the moment we sat down, the server was rushing us. Once we ordered (got the feed me meal), they brought out more than half of the dishes and no drinks. When we called out that we needed our drinks, we were told to order our second round even before the first came because it was busy. Bear in mind, the tables next to us were empty. Our dessert was brought out even before we finished main course and when asked to hold it for 10 minutes (the ice cream would melt), we were told it's ready now so we should just eat it. Safe to say, we didn't even get to enjoy it before the ice cream melted all over the dish and turned into soup.

Possibly the most aggressive and worst customer service we have ever experienced in a restaurant. Our reservation was for 9pm and the restaurant closed at 11pm, so didn't understand the rush at all. It was a very uncomfortable environment and the servers were more interested in getting us out than in letting us enjoy our meal. If 9pm was too late for a booking, they shouldn't have taken our reservation for that time.

I've honestly been to Sash about 6 times and never left disappointed. The menu is constantly being updated with changes big and small, and I am yet to try anything I haven't loved. This recent visit was still fantastic, although it was a little annoying having a table of very loud, obnoxious and obviously drunk people sitting in the booth next to us that kept cat calling us... This is obviously not something that the restaurant is at fault for, but maybe cutting people off a couple of drink before they become creepy towards other customers might be a good idea. Aside from that it was delicious as always, and I will continue to recommend the Kingfish Ceviche and the Tuna Nachos!! Delish!!

disappointing service, after receiving our food almost an hour later after ordering to then nobody aplogisising for it to then also having explained we didn’t get something off the menu to then being snubbed about asking if we could get it off the bill to then still nobody saying sorry! Bit disappointing as food wasn’t too bad but the service definitely killed the vibe
