Considering as though they were closed when we got there for our reservation, I’d say I’m pretty disappointed in both sash and open table.
Service and food was fantastic. Also loved the desert.
Great food and friendly service. Was able to book a table quickly and food came out quickly. Great cocktails too!
Absolutely amazing dishes. Highly recommend. Yummy cocktails. Staff were lovely. Will definitely be coming again.
Absolutely incredible food, exceptional service and a great atmosphere. this is a real must do on Chapel.
The food at Sash is in a league of its own. Such an interesting mix of flavours and cuisines. The ebi prawns are an absolute fave!!
The food and service was outstanding. Jordan our host was just brilliant. Back very soon
Food was amazing, as were the cocktails!
Last minute I had to bring my one year old with me to dinner, the restaurant didn’t have a high chair (which I expected as it’s not really somewhere you would bring a baby) but they we’re very accommodating and helpful. Would definitely go back again, absolutely delicious!
Fresh food, unique and quirky menu, small wine list but at least there is variety, yummy cocktails. Service was friendly. Had a really nice time. Will certainly be recommending others to give it a try.
i expected way more. their instagram looks amazing , their flavours just did not go well together. Nothing will ever beat Mr Miyagi
Really impressed, food was relish, we had a great night thank you!
We had a great meal here on the weekend. Good choices on the menu and fast service. Did not have to wait long for food at all. Would definitely go back again
Great service - Lovely staff!
The food and cocktails were amazing!
Unreal place, had my birthday there on a Sunday afternoon with a mix of family and friends and it was the perfect place. They catered to everything we needed and also went above and beyond. A+++
Was a great experience. The food came out quick and the service was very helpful.
If I was to be very picky; the menus were left on the table as placemats and the drinks came after receiving our third plate.
Food was average for the price, service was good and the cocktails were lovely. Probably wouldn’t come again though
The food was beautiful. The restaurant had a good feel to it.
Got an very nice array of shushi doing the all you can eat deal. Extremely good value for only $39 per person, safe to say we left very full!
Reasonable price, good space and vibe but food was below average. No real standout food items
I was 30 minutes late for my reservation and didn’t mention about the pram, but the host still helped us to be seated efficiently in a quieter corner. The food is exceed the value.
I love sash! That atmosphere the staff and the menu!! Staff is friendly and the food is always amazing!
Delicious food, presented beautifully and creative combinations
Pretty busy for a Wednesday night. Food was delicious and will be back to try a few others we missed. Wish they had more kinds of cocktails.
Sash has so much potential, however every time we are there the service is really poor.
I been to sash few times, the food and drinks are really good.
However after my last visit I don’t think I will go back again or recommend to friends.
We arrived the restaurant at our booking time 6pm. At 7.10pm while we still eating our dessert, the waitress came over told us we need to leave in 5mins, because the next table is waiting. So I asked how long is the seating time, she said it’s an hour and half, but depends on what time we were seated. After she checked with the supervisor, she said we still have 20mins, but they need 5mins to clean up the table, so we need to leave in 15mins.
1st of all, 2/3 of the restaurant was empty at that time, if next booking came 20mins early, they could easily be seat on another table and make a seating adjustment after.
2nd We were not told there is a time limit when we were seated, I have been to so many restaurants, with early session they normally give 2 hours seating time. No places rush their customers like that. Plus we were not over their time limit at all.
There are so many nice restaurants in Melbourne, I don’t need to go back to Sash be treat like this.
Been here once before and had the most amazing time, this time round wasn’t the same. We were rated for the first sitting as we had a show to get to later that night. The server made us feel rushed and was basically screaming when taking our order. We had a couple restrictions for the menu that we couldn’t have and it was almost a burden on the server to accommodate us. The food also came out at an insane speed. We had one dish and within 10mins 3 more had arrived and we hadn’t even started our 2nd. This was a celebratory dinner as well as a 3yr anniversary dinner all in one and it was ruined by one persons attitude and low service standards. You’ve got to cater to your guests and if they are slowly eating why you rushing out everything to get cold. Also telling us that only one dessert was available as one serves 4-6 people and won’t be allowed for us, than another server making it happen. Customer service lacked and in that industry is number 1 priority! Unfortunately I won’t be coming back any time soon. Only saving grace was a server who took over, who made the night so much better.
Amazing food, had the early bird offer and a bit to much food. Walked out with a food coma!
Wouldn’t recommend the pizza tho, horrible combination that should be left for the Italians!
First time coming to Sash Japanese with my lovely wife, first off the wait for food took over an hour for it to be served, we ordered the tuna tacos, prawns sliders and and edamame.
The tuna tacos was bland and dry, the prawn sliders was very oily didn't have enough sauce with it, the edamame came out cold and had pieces of ice still stuck on it
The food was amazing and the location is cool.
The service was really good but just too fast. They should give a bit more time, too much food in the same time make the dinner difficult. Overall, great experience
As it was written on your website that you have sushi burritos we were slightly disappointed to come and for the girl that was serving us to say that she didn’t even know what that is. We tried to come three times before but every time we were told that either kitchen is closed or that the minimum waiting time would be 2 hours. So when we finally got inside after being turned down three times we couldn’t help but feel disappointed when the thing that was on your menu disappeared.
Food was impeccable and the service was even better. Marina made mine and my partners Valentine's Day dinner absolutely unforgettable. Will definitely be back soon!
Overall experience was really good. Quite slow/poor with the service but may have been under staffed to accommodate you amount of people.
Went here for valentines dinner and we chose the feed me option. Food was amazing and came
In generous portions. I began to fill up after the first three dishes luckily my friend had heaps of space left in her tummy lol. Selection of wines were pretty good as well. I definitely will recommend Sash to my friends, heck I might even go back myself.
yes love the food here- shame they have taken the tuna taco and prawn slider off the 2-4-1 offer
Hey thanks for the review! unfortunately the rising cost of Prawns atm and also Tuna has gone through the roof recently due to the warmer climate pushing the Tuna away from Australian waters over summer it was impossible to be offering these dishes at a discount on Tuesdays.
Decent food, yummy cocktails but the standout was the service!
Staff were excellent, so personable and friendly especially Elise and Michael. The $49 6 courses and wine on a Sunday is amazing value for money- each dish so delicious! We will be back :)
The Salmon Ceviche was the star of the show!! The waitress serving us was extremely funny and great. We shall be back again.
We enjoyed our meal, cocktails and the friendly staff. Other than the noise level (and in particular the background music being a bit high), everything was great. Will go back.
The food and cocktails are both some of the best Japanese I’ve had in Melbourne. The crispy Japanese pizzas are so unique and tasty and surprisingly the sushi was different and amazing
Fantastic vibe, atmosphere, food, drinks!
Amazing, vibrant service and great dinner.
