Dinner was very nice. We went early (5:30) and that was good because it wasn’t too crowded and the noise level was satisfactory. It can get noisy when all the tables are filled. Ambiance is nice (love the low level lighting) and the menu pricing very fair - always appreciate that. Our server was excellent. Will definitely go back. Enjoyable dinner experience for any occasion.

It was our first visit to Sangiovese - it was our son's 22nd birthday - he chose to eat there due to reviews he read online and from his friends. We loved it! Samantha was an amazing waitress (we sat in bar area at table). We will definitely be back.

Our waitress rushed our whole evening and even while she did this she did not clear empty plates or bread basket or used utensils. She brought us the dessert menu for example well one of us was still eating their entrée. The place is very crowded. It was difficult for our bus boy to get between tables. The tables are placed too close together. The calamari was very greasy and very salty. Furthermore this is a special occasion and she did not ask why we were there. Will not be going back.

Sangiovese is a decently nice restaurant, but we honestly expected it to be a little better overall. The food was good, but not great. The service & drinks were similar - good, but not great. For the price point, there are several other places in Indy that we'd rather go.

We told them it was our anniversary and they took really special care of us. They gave each of us a pour of champagne on the house as well as a free dessert at the end of the meal. Would never have expected so much. Great hospitality!

Overall, a phenomenally great experience. The service was quick, prompt, attentive, yet also allowed us to enjoy our experience. Both meals (a cheese ravioli with chicken and shiitake mushrooms in a cream vodka sauce and a deliciously prepared chicken parmigiana) were fantastic. Perfectly portioned and expertly prepared. Great wine selection and the dessert drinks were among the best we’ve ever had. Truly an enjoyable experience beginnings to end and will certainly be back again.

Hands down the best meal I had in Indianapolis all week; including dining at some typical favorites. The chef has put together some light and flavorful Italian dishes with manageable portions. I had the LINGUINI FRUTTI DI MARE and it was fantastic!!

3.5 is a better score that what I could enter here. I liked the setting and the interior. (note to restaurants, post more photos of the interior and fewer of the food) It had a nice urban feel, very different from what you might expect from outside. +++ there Are you a sports bar or a nice restaurant. I love hockey, I love the playoffs. Not sure a flashing TV is the right setting for this place. Calamari was great. Main dish... eh, fine. Over done on all fronts. Too much extra stuff, too much sauce - know when to quit. Service needs lots of help. You need to keep training all the time. Guy with water was a bit much. Service was nice, but the restaurant needs a higher quality of service and professionalism. Train train train. Easy parking, stocked bar, nice art, great lighting, great entrance design, lots good here but not upper tier on the food execution.

We love this place not only is it the best Italian around but Josie the server might be the best in the area. She’s on top of everything. We would eat here just because if her amazing service. Lucky the food is way above par even in this employee shortage from Covid. Honestly this is the only restaurant I know on the northside that doesn’t seem to have their food or their staff affected by the shortage. Every restaurant we have been to for the last six months we have experienced terrible quality of the food along with terrible service. So we find ourselves eating here once a week. The food is always consistent. I highly recommended making a reservation and adding Josie’s name in the notes so she can be your server. Please be aware she has full Time job And does not work every single night but usually is there on weekends for sure
