Sandstone Point Hotel
Sandstone Point Hotel, just a short drive north from Brisbane, offers a beautiful location at which to enjoy contemporary, globally-inspired meals with something delicious for every type of taste. The chargrilled garlic prawn skewers with lemon mayonnaise and the slow-cooked chili pork belly with shaved apple and watercress make sharable and taste bud-warming starters. Some of Sandstone Point Hotel Ôs specialty mains include the grilled chicken supreme wrapped in prosciutto and stuffed with creamy brie, the angus striploin steak slathered in creamy garlic sauce and the sand crab and scallop mousse lasagna. More casual fare, such as the Point slider plate with a barbecue pulled pork, barbecue chicken, beef with horseradish mayo and brie and avocado sliders and the spiced lamb pizza with cucumber, mint and spinach yogurt, are also popular.
Sandstone Point Hotel also has a full kids' menu, making it an excellent dining choice for the whole family.
Great location and menu however food was not as described on menu due to seasonality. Would be an idea to advise when seating guests of chamges to menu
Food wasn’t great. Pizza pulled pork small miminal meat and smothered in bbq sauce. Kilpatrick oysters covered in bbq sauce yuk
Too much mayo on burgers and salad
Chips with the duck undercooked
Such a shame the venue is amazing, I like to cook so a few tweaks on the menu and I’d give it5 stars
Me and my Husband are frequent visitors to Sandstone point however this is the second time we have been seated right next to the childrens play area, therefore whilst dining we had several children running around our table. May I suggest when you have sufficient empty seating perhaps seat guests without children in a different area.
Will be bringing my Sister who will be visiting from Melbourne for lunch in the next week
It's amazing at sandstone point. Good all round, service food and views
We would recommend Sandstone Pt Hotel, but we do think the Resturant menu prices are a bit higher overall than a lot of other hotels and the chips served with our meals are a poor quality choice.
However it's a nice modern venue with lots of great attractions for families, with great views and open space for the kids to play. But can be a tad noisy if your looking for a quiet meal.
Top makes for the Mooloolaba Prawns!
Great Food. Great Location.
The Chef that cooked our meal which waa steak. Was brilliant. The quality of meat and how it was served was fantastic. I have not had as good a steak cooked for me out like this was in a long time. Compliments to the Hotel and Chef.
Great place with kids for a midweek dinner.
Couldnt fault anything.
We frequently have a get together with friends at Sandstone Point hotel and always enjoy the food and the service. It is a meeting point between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. During the week it is quieter which is always lovely.
We went to SPH for lunch with family. The food was great, the venue is the best and the level o service was second to none, in particular Amber and Nikita who made sure our time was special. Strongly recommend it to anybody thinking of coming there.
Great food, Great service & very cold Canadian Club and lime
Nice night, a lot quieter than usual and the maitredi was friendlier than normal, so that was a bonus!
This was to be a special occasion, but was disappointing. Oysters Kilpatrick we ordered were the worst Oysters Kilpatrick ever, probably reheated from yesterday. Turkish bread was very ordinary. Main course seafood tier was better, but still blow par. Noisy even on a Wednesday evening.
We love spending time here and coming for family meals on weekends BUT
the toilets are really substandard and not at all adequate for the amount of people visiting the venue. There are definitely not enough toilets available on busy weekend days. Given the popularity with families, the addition of a parent room would be fantastic. We are no longer comfortable with my husband taking our 2 young daughters to the toilet in the Men’s room as it never feels like a clean or safe environment for small children. This is mostly due to the traffic and sanitary issues, but in particular one incident where a stranger approached our daughter in the toilets. So unfortunately I am always on toilet duty, which I am fine with, but this doesn’t seem like a very ethical nor practical solution.
Vegan pizza was amazing. Coming from the guy that ordered the 400 gram steak. Which was cooked to perfection.
We had lunch here on Saturday
The food and service were excellent
The staff very friendly
We will definitely go back
Booked a table for lunch on a Saturday, pleased I did as it filled up pretty quickly. Venue is very nice and a great location. You choose your food from a menu then go to a counter to order (no table service ordering), go to a separate bar to order any drinks you may want. Food was average 2 out of 4 of enjoyed the meal. Delay in the order coming out together so we waited for the final meal to come out before we started so was cold. Tables are close together and unfortunately has someone next to us who coughed their lungs out the whole meal so we rushed to leave our table as soon as we could.
Outside there was entertainment and a great view. A nice way to spend an afternoon if your not fussy about food and are organised to book.
Was good. Great service. Have already recommended to friends and family
Had a great lunch out with our friends. Noise at some times was quite loud but we hadn't seen each other for ages so we were fine. Really enjoyed the meal. Thank you.
As a family venue on a weekend we found it exceptional. The hotel had large open areas for the kids to run around safely and we enjoyed the day.
Food was beautiful. a bit pricey but very enjoyable afternoon. Cold day. Lovely fire burning. great atmosphere.
Excellent quality food in a lovely location. Saturday lunch was very busy. Warming fires throughout on a cold day gave a lovely ambience.
Booked table on line for 8 however online booking didn’t allow specific request for an inside table (as high winds cold weather predicted) & a round table if possible. Sent email to Sandstone Point Hotel with these specific requests referring to online booking & was pleasantly surprised that our requests had all been realised. Well done staff at Sandstone Point. All 8 of us appreciated our inside round table for 4 and a half hours of comfort, good food, drinks & great service. Thank you to all for a great family catch-up experience. We’ll be back!
This place is amazing! has so much variety, great atmosphere and massive north facing grounds for kids to play in. cant wait to return.
I would give them 6 stars (delicious food, amenities, great great atmosphere)
Love the setting and different food options. Way too noisy to enjoy a good level of conversation around our table though. Loud live music in the bar and outdoors that could be heard loudly wherever one sat, even inside the restaurant was a big disappointment this visit. We just ate and left.
Our first visit to Sandstone Point and we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel set up and the choices of dining availablities..
All the meals we had chosen were good except my Poke bowl.. it was extremely bland with very little flavour. Very disappointing :(
However the ambience of the pub and the surroundings were lovely..
Will certainly return perhaps for one of the music festivals
The best atmosphere and surrounded by things that I love... decorative items! Food was spectacular and the ambience was awesome. Highly recommend
Beautiful large restaurant with friendly staff & quick service. It was busy when we came in but our food arrived surprisingly quick & it was a delicious meal. The only negative experience of the night was the table beside us had a very loud intoxicated lady who I noticed disturbed everyone at the tables surrounding her because she was all you could hear while trying to enjoy your meal but this is no fault to the restaurant, we still enjoyed our date night there.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Sandstone. It’s definitely improved and the standard of food was much better than on previous occasions and improved service as well.
We went back this year - it is a special occasion for us. We love the waterside views, the food, the staff, the environment, the kids play area and the seating outside but undercover.
It called off a perfect Mothers Day for my Princess
Wonderful atmosphere and grounds - will definitely be back here. Came for a late lunch on mothers day and food came out quickly and was delicious!!
The ladies toilets near the restaurant were DISGUSTING. They are dark, wet, dirty. Why? Put some lights in and clean them up. The bar staff are rude and have no customer service training. The positives are beautiful views and music
We ordered a $42 Op Rib which came out stone cold, when we asked for it to be rectified they heated the plate and nothing else
This is not to do with our meal at all. That is always great as is the venue. I would like to see a paved path from the top of the hill to the bottom down to the fish and chippery to assist with getting the disabled and elderly down there with greater ease. Down can be done but uphill is very difficult with wheel chairs.
Also I wanted to take my elderly mum and dad in their wheel chair and walker to that table and chairs area under the beautiful tree so they could be in the shade and overlook the grassy area to watch their great grandchildren play but wheel chairs cannot access that area.
Excellent food, and generous meals. Casual yet sophisticated venue with a beautiful view.
Overall I would not be bothered again, I had my brother come from Sydney and thought it would be a pleasant spot. I had booked the table online and yes the seating was there, and pleasant enough.
Then we started with the disappointments - meals - one burger, one steak sandwich and one fish and chips - totaled over $92 with the 15% loading, this took close to the hour to arrive, although we had been warned that it would be about 40 minutes, but... it was closer to 60 minutes.
When the meals did arrive, there was so much salt on the chips that it burnt my mouth and could not eat them, the steak had grizzle on it that I wondered what part of the cow they used, and my husband could not eat the fish - he picked at it a fair bit and removed the batter which was not cooked properly and really, I suppose I could choose something from every aspect.
So - no, I did not think it was value for money, a smaller - healthier meal would have been more appreciated, a piece of pan fried or grilled fish with a small tasty salad. We had asked for the Thai beef salad but.... could not be done without the peanuts. We had asked for bangers and mash, but.... there were none.
So would I recommend to a friend? Definitely not, unless I knew that this type of meal and wait time is for them.
Great service, food was awesome and super atmosphere.
If you're ok with really average service from really morose staff then everything else is great.
