Sandstone Point Hotel
Sandstone Point Hotel, just a short drive north from Brisbane, offers a beautiful location at which to enjoy contemporary, globally-inspired meals with something delicious for every type of taste. The chargrilled garlic prawn skewers with lemon mayonnaise and the slow-cooked chili pork belly with shaved apple and watercress make sharable and taste bud-warming starters. Some of Sandstone Point Hotel Ôs specialty mains include the grilled chicken supreme wrapped in prosciutto and stuffed with creamy brie, the angus striploin steak slathered in creamy garlic sauce and the sand crab and scallop mousse lasagna. More casual fare, such as the Point slider plate with a barbecue pulled pork, barbecue chicken, beef with horseradish mayo and brie and avocado sliders and the spiced lamb pizza with cucumber, mint and spinach yogurt, are also popular.
Sandstone Point Hotel also has a full kids' menu, making it an excellent dining choice for the whole family.
Great to be able to bring in a Birthday cake to the hotel
Was fairly happy with my overall experience. Didnt like that I was asked to leave the dance floor area because I didn't have long pants on even though I was there at 6pm. Also didnt like the fact that I called up originally to book a table and the lady said that you were booked out at 6pm. Within 3 minutes of hanging up I booked online and it went through perfectly. Not the best start to a visit.
Seafood menu items I wanted to order, were not available. Fish was disappointing
Not family friendly. Prob good for couples. Meals were dear for what they were.
Sandstone point hotel is a lovely looking place. The food is always fresh and great tasting. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We always enjoy going there for lunch.
Had a great lunch, table service would be nice but maybe prices would go up. Love the steaks here.
A well appointed business lunch.
Loved the Sandstone Hotel, lovely atmosphere and beautiful hotel!
we were there on Sunday at 1 pm - hard to hear any conversation sitting inside think we will sit outside in future. Food was good and served very quickly but I was disappointed that at 1.40 the lamb roast was finished and the pork roast was very fatty. But, we (6) enjoyed it and will return sometime.
didn’t want big meals tried to order steak sandwiches and burgers and were told not after five little did we know that you can order them at the bar as the staff didn’t inform us of this. Paid a fair bit for steak that was rare when we asked to be medium to well done. Was offered a complimentary tea or coffee when we were drinking alcohol as a compensation.
Was an average meal out. Steak was average, tables seemed crammed in and music was too loud to have a conversation. Meals overpriced for the quality. View was good.
Sandstone Point Hotel is my happy place. Such a fabulous setting for young and old to appreciate food, drinks, play and friends. Great scenery, selection of eating and drinking locations and vast playing areas for the kids. If you haven't been there already, go soon......it may become your happy place too.
Great food, great atmosphere. Highly recommend, 5 stars.
Had the Seafood Tier shared for two. Compared with previous visits i believe that the volume of food had decreased. Found the deep fried portions very oily/greaser as the kitchen had not let the food drain before serving. The fresh seafood was beautiful and tasty. Shame that cant be said for the hot portion. Bring back the toppers to the menu.
Food was fabulous. Best meal I've had there to date. It was Melbourne Cup Day but given that they were busy it wasn't frantic. We had a great time.
Food was lovely beautiful views but slow to clear tables
Food had gone down hill, it’s expensive to eat there but my steak was very average for almost $40. Pumpkin risotto was like baby food in consistency.
Really good food, service and view. Happy to go back and eat again
Nice food and good service but the music was way to loud, just about had to yell to talk to people sitting at the opposite end of the table
Great food, great atmosphere and was a really nice night out
The food was very tasty but overpriced, more appropriate for a la carte dining rather than a tavern meal. The ordering system after 5pm was ridiculous. My meal ordered in the restaurant, my husband's burger meal from the bar, cooked in the same kitchen, timimg not well synchronised as a result of poor communication between two ordering systems. Didn't make sense. My salmon dish was so small and csme earlier than his so I was almost finished when his burver arrived. The ambience was lovely, fire places outside, sitting by a window etc. Table service staff and bar staff were nice, but neither seemed to understand or could explain tbe crazy ordering system. Would we go there again? Maybe, but not in a hurry. Too pricey and not a lot ofchoice for my non-seafood eating husband.
Just hopefully bad night for seafood risotto as hard to find the seafood otherwise great night
Our visit this time to sandstone point was very ordinary. The food was average, very busy, staff were not at all attentive. Line up for food was long, there should be more than one register open at all times and staff asking other staff how to put in order and not knowing what they are doing on the register etc slowing up the line and service. Cocktails served in plastic cups like you are in a nightclub.
Excellent food, great steaks. Great service - friendly and efficient.
My review is based on our one time and first time experience. The waitress forgot to pass our order on to the chef. We waited almost 40mins til I asked her while she was wiping down the tables. She went back to pass our order and apologised about it. 15-20mins later we were told by an older staff member that my order "prawn on skewer salad" was not available, no reason why, however I was able to order a prawn salad instead, the prawn salad seemed like a 5minute job, few prawns thrown on top of green lettuce and bacon etc, in my opinion it wasn't worth $26.00
It was a half filled bowl of salad. I thoroughly didn't enjoy my experience after a long wait. I was told by the older staff member, he was sorry about the wait and he'll get me a free coffee, which I didn't get, he only returned and asked how was the food, I already wasn't enjoying the experience, so I didn't reply to him and wondered where the free coffee was. So no didn't enjoy my experience at all. I hope this is a one time "Tuesday night bad staffing experience" cause I find the place beautiful. Thank you.
Main attraction for me is the options available for food.
It would be good if you could order meals and drinks at the same time in one section. Or offer a waiter service.
The staff is very rude, when serving and presenting food. Unbelievable the way they treat there customers
The staff are becoming very rude and un friendly in all areas of service
First time here for dinner although have eaten lunch a few times and it's always a good experience. The ambience is better during the day as you can see the magnificent views of the passage. I had to request parmesan cheese to add to my gnocci which was a little bland, but which improved the flavour to just right.
We found that the tables were to close together and hard to hear each other at times but overall a great experience.
The whole experience was great! Love the venue, will definitely tell friends about it. All ages catered for. Congratulations on a great concept!
Great location and set up. Service from staff very impersonal - could do with improvement.
Only if they were in the area visiting, wouldn’t tell them to go out of their way to go there!
Hotel & surrounds are a lovely atmosphere for lunch. Our only concern with the meal was with a steak sandwich that was quite gristly & fatty
Location, food and service all good, walked around grounds after and saw the poor Macaw all alone in its cage, it just seems cruel to keep this beautiful bird like this.
Great food awesome venue very relaxed atmosphere would definitely recommend
Loved the location and all the great activities for children!
We've been here a couple of times and find that it's such a lovely atmosphere. Food is excellent and the staff are very nice and the standard the conduct themselves are wsy above average. They all are very nicely dressed and polite. We can't wait for some of the events they will be having!
What a fantastic venue! The food was delicious. The view was magnificent. Only two small incidents with a waitress who was rude when taking our food order and rude when placing our meals on our table. If everything else wasn't so good, we would have complained about her. Will definitely be back.
