Sandstone Point Hotel
Sandstone Point Hotel, just a short drive north from Brisbane, offers a beautiful location at which to enjoy contemporary, globally-inspired meals with something delicious for every type of taste. The chargrilled garlic prawn skewers with lemon mayonnaise and the slow-cooked chili pork belly with shaved apple and watercress make sharable and taste bud-warming starters. Some of Sandstone Point Hotel Ôs specialty mains include the grilled chicken supreme wrapped in prosciutto and stuffed with creamy brie, the angus striploin steak slathered in creamy garlic sauce and the sand crab and scallop mousse lasagna. More casual fare, such as the Point slider plate with a barbecue pulled pork, barbecue chicken, beef with horseradish mayo and brie and avocado sliders and the spiced lamb pizza with cucumber, mint and spinach yogurt, are also popular.
Sandstone Point Hotel also has a full kids' menu, making it an excellent dining choice for the whole family.
A very relaxing place to catch up with friends while at the same time enjoying really good food with service that would be up there with the best with comparable venues. We travel up from Brisbane to meet up with friends from Imbil and this is the second time we have met there and will be making it our regular meeting point for relaxed lunches and a general catch up.
Keep up the good work
The menu could be a little more varied, with some more interesting ‘lighter’ options. ( eg similar to the EH tavern)
Good set up and design.
Food is way over priced for the quality.
Pavlova was hard a rock and terrible with the smallest bit of fruit. Feel ripped off buying that.
No where near enough toilets for the size of the place. Always have to line up with so many people yet so little toilets.
Excellent food and great service. Best place i have eaten in 6 months
We took friends for lunch from NSW that are visiting the area. They absolutely loved the hotel and are planning to stay in your caravan park on their next visit.
I took my parents for lunch from Brisbane and we had a lovely experience.
The outlook is lovely and the service is great.
We ordered a mix of meals from seafood to chicken, but make sure you save room for the desserts.
You get a table number and order at the counter, and your meals are delivered to you. We had staff also check in our meals, of which we were all happy with. There are many different areas, but we dined in the restaurant. It is well worth a trip from Brisbane to enjoy the hotel.
Delicious food, great service, kids loved the kids area and play ground. We can’t wait to come back.
Location is great. Venue is great. Value is average and service is poor
Good food. Good value, great atmosphere, would highly recommend
Overall it is a nice place for a meal. It is somewhat expensive but portions are ample. What would have been better if there wasn’t so many kids running around the dining area as if it were a playground. This takes away the ambience given the cost of meals and drinks as it devalues the dining experience you expect for the cost.
Starters were amazing, mains were good but lacking in some parts we felt for the price.
Great open air spot.
Food took too long.
Sweet potato wedges were not cooked enough
Nice location, good food and good value.
Seafood was fresh and other meals were tasty
reserving a table on-line was a great option as it was very busy. ordered the special of the day, barra burger asked for cheese on it and was told by a staff member "training" that isn't wasn't possible even though sliced cheese came out on a different meal. the average age of staff is very young and require more training in their positions.
Over-priced, "ordinary" food.
And, who serves coleslaw (a cold salad) with a meal of roast meat and vegetables???
Great food, great views , great playground for children of all ages
Over priced food and drinks. Wouldn’t go back because of the price of the food.
We’ve been going to sandstone point for two years now. We went to dinner Saturday night. The oysters were old, stale and overcooked. There was hair in them. The steak was full of sinew and chewy. Very dissapointed, won’t be going back any more. The quality has gone downhill dramatically.
First time to the sandstone point hotel. I was told a lot of the menu was out of stock and this was 6:30 on a Sunday evening, so the menu was very limited. It’s a nice place and we will be beck, hopefully next time they have a full menu.
Lovely hotel feels more like a resort. Great bars, food was enjoyable. Lovely outlook over pumicestone passage. Great things for kids to do and roam. Reintroduced me to Bribie after many years.
Steak and sides came out freezing cold compared to the rest of the hot meals on the table. Not worth the $36 or $38 paid
The Sandstone was a very enjoyable dinner spot. The sound was great, enough to fill the silence but not enough that it was hard to hear. The food was above expectations and reasonably priced. 10/10 will go again!
Super disappointed to find that even though our table was booked well in advance , we had an inside table . After driving from Brisbane for an out door dining experience, we were given a booth inside without even a glimpse of water . The staff could not have cared less how unhappy we were..
If we are not getting an outside table this needs to made clear in the booking process. I may have well gone to my local pub and will do next time . Such a disappointment
We enjoyed our food very much and were surprised at the reasonable prices.
We had one girl who was not a customer service person who almost ruined our experience but others were great so we tried to let her ignorance of how to treat customers slide.
Truthfully people who do not know how to speak to people politely need to be moved on, as our experience overall was positive. People will always care about the way you make them feel, so if you make them feel like an idiot all the great food, great ambiance , great prices are just marred.
Just sack them.
Great food and views would recommend for either lunch with friends or romantic dinner
On Thursday last 5/12/19 we were visited by friends from Adelaide. When the subject of "where to dine" arose, I suggested the Sandstone Point Hotel as they advertise fresh seafood, my friend enjoys fresh seafood and on the four or five occasions I have frequented this establishment, the seafood had been good. My visitors had never seen the Sandstone Point Hotel so I was keen to make an impression on them. My friend and I have spent many years fishing together and KNOW what fresh seafood is and what is not! My guest ordered the "Bucket of prawns" served up on a plate which would have been very lucky if it tipped the scales at 300 to 400 grms for $30. When I saw he had left 5 prawns on his plate, I enquired if anything was wrong and asked if I could try one of his leftover prawns as this was most unusual for him. He was too kind to complain or make a fuss about his meal but when I tried one of his prawns, we both agreed the meal was rubbish. Whether this occurred from the Sandstone Point supplier or at Sandstone Point Hotel. the prawns had been soaked in brine (to make them last longer and keep them from going "off") and the strong taste of brine was evident. The prawns were unusually tough as well. They looked insipid! No Sandstone Point, they were NOT fresh prawns!!!!!!!
The restaurant should have areas that are air conditioned and closed off to outside, especially with the warmer weather.
Great to be able to bring in a Birthday cake to the hotel
Was fairly happy with my overall experience. Didnt like that I was asked to leave the dance floor area because I didn't have long pants on even though I was there at 6pm. Also didnt like the fact that I called up originally to book a table and the lady said that you were booked out at 6pm. Within 3 minutes of hanging up I booked online and it went through perfectly. Not the best start to a visit.
Seafood menu items I wanted to order, were not available. Fish was disappointing
Not family friendly. Prob good for couples. Meals were dear for what they were.
Sandstone point hotel is a lovely looking place. The food is always fresh and great tasting. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We always enjoy going there for lunch.
Had a great lunch, table service would be nice but maybe prices would go up. Love the steaks here.
A well appointed business lunch.
Loved the Sandstone Hotel, lovely atmosphere and beautiful hotel!
we were there on Sunday at 1 pm - hard to hear any conversation sitting inside think we will sit outside in future. Food was good and served very quickly but I was disappointed that at 1.40 the lamb roast was finished and the pork roast was very fatty. But, we (6) enjoyed it and will return sometime.
didn’t want big meals tried to order steak sandwiches and burgers and were told not after five little did we know that you can order them at the bar as the staff didn’t inform us of this. Paid a fair bit for steak that was rare when we asked to be medium to well done. Was offered a complimentary tea or coffee when we were drinking alcohol as a compensation.
Was an average meal out. Steak was average, tables seemed crammed in and music was too loud to have a conversation. Meals overpriced for the quality. View was good.
Sandstone Point Hotel is my happy place. Such a fabulous setting for young and old to appreciate food, drinks, play and friends. Great scenery, selection of eating and drinking locations and vast playing areas for the kids. If you haven't been there already, go soon......it may become your happy place too.
Great food, great atmosphere. Highly recommend, 5 stars.
