I came to Sandbar with a group of 9. We were seated on the beach which was really nice! We firstly ordered drinks which took about 15-20 minutes. 2 waiters came to our table offering us the wrong drinks...twice! We ordered about 6 sides, the garlic bread came out right after our drinks and then about 40 minutes after that half of our tables meals came out. All steaks were cooked incorrectly and all food was freezing. After half of us had finished our meals the rest of the sides came out and the rest of the tables food came out. Probably the worst dining experience I have ever had....

Fantastic food! We just thought the wait for the food was quite long considering how many people were there

Had a lovely dinner with 11 guests, including kids. Service was friendly and our requests were met with a smile. Kids had fun with the colouring in and pool tables. Great setting right across from the beach. We had a fun night. Great for groups and families.

Food service was lacking. Didn’t have the ingredients for our order but didn’t tell us after waiting for over 30min. Then they messed up reorder. We finally cancelled.

We have been a few times and it’s usually really good but this time no...just because it’s busy doesn’t mean you should drop your Standard of food, we were happy to wait the 1/2 hour but not for what was served. Service and atmosphere was great.

Had lunch with a friend and we both enjoyed the teriyaki salmon on soba noodles and had sides of salad and sweet potato fries. We just had water to drink and the bill was about AUD$70. We sat on the terrace which faces the ocean, but there is a busy road between the restaurant and the beach, so there was quite a bit of road noise. The service was friendly but a bit slow, but we weren't in a hurry. Overall it was a nice experience and I would do it again.

Ridiculously slow service, several food order mixups for our table and we had to go to the bar for drinks as the waiters were often nowhere to be seen.

Our Family shouted us a trip to Surfers for a reunion and through enquiries at The Focus we were told that your establishment was the answer to our prayers and how right they were.
Thanks a million for the magnificent evening and for the excellent service that (old age, can't remember his name) but he was French, provided,Nothing was too much trouble for this chap.
Thanks once again Sandbar have to say we couldn't have picked a better place for our Reunion meal.

Our reservation was for 7 pm and when we were seated we were advised it was 30 minutes wait for food. One hour and 15 minutes later the meals arrived!! We were shocked by the wait. Staff could have offered a side dish or fries complimentary to tide us all over but did not. There wasa mix up with the food as well and one of our guests waited another 20 minutes for her meal. You seriously need to life your game - more staff, more cooks, apologies would all be helpful

We have been to Sandbar many times it is definitely a favourite of ours. Service is always friendly and the vibe is chilled till later in the evening and definitely has a more energetic feel.
Bridgette the supervisor is a gem always welcoming giving that family feeling as soon as you arrive.
Always recommend and take our friends to Sandbar.

Very happy we stumbled upon this gem. Not a lot of good places to eat in Surfers. A rare find. Great menu. Healthy choices as well as some indulgent ones. Fantastic for kids. Extensive wine, beer & cocktail menu. And amazing 50% off food 12-9pm on Fridays!

Wait staff are super-friendly but they were short-staffed the night we were here and it showed. Our food took just short of an hour to arrive and when it did, one of the meals (fish) was so over cooked it was inedible. That said, it was removed from our bill without us needing to ask and without fuss. Kids meals were terrific and good value. Cocktails were outstanding. We would give this place another shot - the terrific staff, who did their best given the circumstances, really made us feel like our experience on this particular occasion would have been an exception rather than the rule.

Thank you so very much for moving away from the limited & boring Tapas Menu..... we were so disappointed with this menu and did not dine nor drink there once .... and we love The Sandbar.
The previous menu though simple & basic was extensive and impressive and the standard of food plated was consistently excellent which retained our regular custom.
The new menu is vibrant and exciting, the food insanely good. (Though the standard chips were ‘old’ and not fresh considering how busy you were). Would love to see a few items on a specials boards..... a pasta?
2 or 3 more vegetarian dish options would be wonderful.
The service and staff were the best thus far, professional, polite and considerate, especially Fredrica and the tall gentleman with dark hair, apologies I missed his name. ..... too busy indulging!!!
Please bring back my Mango Majito.... such a refreshing and awesome cocktail ..... a little promotion would certainly invoke customer awareness and sales.... (this love affair began in Maui, Hawaii).
Dining & Drinking at the Low Bar (overlooking the restaurant seating) was sorely missed on the evening..... it’s a cool, hip and versatile area, hardly worth a potted plant stand! 😂Sorry!
Hell ... now I’m on a roll. You have a great place in a great location.... on the fenceline of the hub which gives a refreshing oasis from the tourist mania whilst still monopolising the fact but the picket fence, though slightly funky somewhat interrupts the ambience and connected flow to the beach across the road thus severing that flow back into the restaurant. .... Only my opinion!!
However, the evening lighting and candles are subtly romantic and quaint!! Thks!! See you soon

I made a booking on-line for Wednesday 13th Sept 7.30pm to arrive to no lights and no doors open :( i was so looking forward to that tasty sounding Pulled Pork Burger and cocktails .... maybe let people know your trading hours ! Thankfully i was only stayimg 550 metres away so the disappointment was only short lived! If I'm back up in the Gold Coast i may just brave it again !!!

We waited to be seated for about 5min, I had to ask someone if we could be seated.
My booking was lost even though I confirmed it.
Out of all the staff 2 ppl seemed interested in being there.
Food was lovely, it was the only positive.
