Poor quality food. Expensive. Tasteless fish and soggy chips with old side salad. Should have gone to stunned mullet fish and chip shop for $100 less and more enjoyable experience.
There was a private function on downstairs and so we were seated upstairs. They gave us a courtesy call on the morning to let us know about the stairs. The stairs were quite steep which was difficult for one of our party. Having said that, once we got up there we had a nice time, view was better from up there, the food was great, and can't fault the service.
Several meals were served cold and had to be sent back. The quality of food was satisfactory - below their normal standard though - but the service was excellent.
Not a bad experience however I feel like the service is quite inattentive and to up tight. While we were there we had a large table arrive and it took 3 wait staff to serve this one table mean while we were left waiting for our bill and also hadnt been cleared or asked about desserts.
There is nowhere to hide with grilled whiting and mine was overcooked and did not taste fresh. The service was great and so were the recommended wines. We all enjoyed the sparkling shiraz even though it isn't what you would normally pair with fish. When lobster is $69 AUD for the public at any fishmonger or supermarket I don't know how anyone can justify $220 AUD for one 900gm lobster, even at a restaurant. Overall poor value for money. For fish chips and salad be prepared to pay $40 per plate.

Service was slow and not very attentive. Food was overpriced for what it was.

A bit pricey for amount and quality of food. Nice experience but would not go twice.
We came to dine with 3 children.
When I asked was the children’s squid crumbled the response I received was “I assume so” I said is it or isn’t it, response, “I don’t know”. Me well can you find out, response “oh it’s my 1st day”
We waited nearly an hr for 3 entrees and 4 side dishes, there was no communication that there was a long wait, the children had to wait nearly an hr for a bowl of chips.
It wasn’t until we told them that we were leaving in 5 minutes if we didn’t have our food they explained that they were busy
Very poor service will never go there again

Although it was a very busy day for us the communication aspect of your visit appears to have been lacking. This will be addressed with the staff concerned and be highlighted to all staff that this is very important particularly at times of high volume. The food was very average
Wonderful location for dinner and to relax and watch the sunset. Only negative was the quality of the food which did not provide value for money.
Poor service food especially oysters not fresh...no heating outside no blankets so uncomfortable couldnt wait to leave...meals not served together side dishes arrived later...to cap off overchaged on a bottle of wine when i questioned and he realised he picked 5bucks from the tip jar...i said no thanks it was awkward...we will pass on our experience to others expected by reputation so much more...if u want to experience class and quality try the sol restaurant Adelaide casino only slightly more expensive 10 times better
feel that the overall feel of the restaurant has changed from seafood restaurant to just a general restaurant that sells seafood. We were in a lovely room but was spoilt by a large engagement party walking through every couple of minutes. When we asked them if they would mind closing the door on their way in or out we got the finger... nice that these Lebanese men really appreciated that it was a shared space! The food was nice enough but be aware that you will only get salmon etc.. not sides without ordering so it becomes a very expensive meal. OK for a treat but would look at the fish shed in town next time for a seafood meal. We had Sylvia as our waitress and she was outstanding... an absolute star and a credit to the restaurant
Sammy's is brilliant from beginning to end - the ambience, the food, the service are all outstanding. Can't wait to go again.

Overall it was nice, staff were polite and timely however it is just way, way too expensive and not really worth it.
For this reason alone, it's not a place I will likely visit again.

Only two criticisms: 1) our salads were served without any dressing and 2) my wife"s entree of crisp calamari strips with chilli and lime sauce had very minimal sauce and she ended up eating most of it dry.
Food was horrible. Did not eat it all yet paid nearly an $800 bill for uneaten food.

Terrible,
I was there 2-3 years ago, and food was great including staff.
This time I was excited raved in about the quality and staff, to arrive to do organised staff.
Food was mistaken and was 45 mins to receive x1 platter and the other was 15 minutes after the first.
Salt and pepper squid was soggy very oily not cooked correctly.
Food was cold 🥶
Drinks were horrible
$750 for lunch was not an issue if the quality was A1 but it has dropped dramatically!

It’s wasn’t worth $300 for 2 people, one course & one bottle wine. The restaurant is falling apart. We were sat in a hallway area with tables so close I bumped my neighbours menu and spilt her wine. The best part was the view of the ocean. Fresh prawns were nice but cooked food was soggy & lacked flavour. Won’t be back. Wait staff made effort, but some were very confused about what they were doing. Terrible anniversary experience, sadly.

This was our first time at the restaurant. There were lots of menu choices, great views, great food, friendly staff. Enjoyed the experience. Would definitely go back
Disappointed with the food on this visit. The tuna was over cooked and extremely salty. The accompanying vegetables were poor and this dish was not hot - had it been waiting while the other dish for our table was being prepared? We were given a free platter of 4 cream filled profiteroles when I gently mentioned this, but they also were not impressive. Overall it was a lovely spot and friendly staff but unfortunately it was not the value for money or fine dining we hoped for.

Excellent food, beautiful location, treated like royalty.
The food was very good and the service excellent. Unluckily i snagged a "questionable" oyster which was immediately rectified by supplying us with 3 more. Good Stuff.The drinks list was impressive and had been selected to suit all tastes. Overall the ambience, food and service was very good but expensive!

The Brandy and Garlic Prawns need a lot more Brandy. I am not too sure if there was any there at all.

I believe I was over charged according to menu price by which stated 310 was charged 360 for the dish we ordered only noticed after I left but over all the service was good and the lobster was a bit dry thanks for the effort

Always a great spot. Great location on a wondering summer's night. Wonderfully consistent food. Always cooked very well. Staff were friendly and really helpful. The process for paying the bill was the most difficult part of the evening!
