Disappointed that as soon as we walked in we were shown to our table we were told that our table was rebooked for 8pm. So I’m other words you need to leave before 8pm. My husband and I both ordered the 350g porterhouse steaks and weren’t impressed that both were grisly. When you pay $42 for a steak you don’t expect there to be gristle. Pretty poor! No I would not recommend to any friends or family.

I enjoyed my meal at Saltwater, although being a long weekend the restaurant was very busy. The staff were very friendly although from the moment we walked in to when we left. I think our entree's were forgotten and it took well over an hour for them to arrive after I followed up on them.. thankfully our mains came shortly after. The restaurant did give us complementary dessert. My main poke bowl was very salty and not a true poke bowl more like a seafood coleslaw and my husbands mussels were salty as well. I think being a busy holiday weekend the staff were pushed and things go by the wayside, it wouldn't deter me giving it a go again perhaps not on a holiday weekend.

we love the place, the share platters are just great to sit and talk. We are steak people and to be told the Rib eye staeks were no available was disappointing. The acoustics of the lower dinning area with the big doors closed caused issue with orders being mis heard and comfortable conversation hard.

This place is good for food if you like chilli. Most of the items have chilli throughout them and instead of serving spicy sauces seperate on the plate they serve covering the food.

The place wasn’t really that busy there were empty tables but food (entrees & $17 kids meals) took over an hour to come out and that was only after we asked about it twice. We had to continually flag down the waitress to ask for drinks etc and regularly items were forgotten. It’s very expensive for hit and miss average meals and the service just wasn’t good enough.

They do have food substitutes for GF & Vegan though. This place has a lot of potential but unfortunately they’re just not reaching it. Our table of 9 won’t return.

Asked for a nice window table for our Anniversary and recieved a nice corner one buy the window. Noisy but not so noisy that we couldn't have a nice conversation.
Menu had a great variety. Steak was cooked beautifully, burger was a bit overdone and salty, but husband likes salty.
All staff were very friendly, however not very attentive. Our entree was not cleared until after our mains came out & I waited 25minutes for water, and were not offered dessert.
We moved to the bar at the end for a last drink and the gentleman that served my husband was really nice, maybe the manager? Super friendly.
I think if floor staff were more attentive and there were homemade desserts rather then braught in ones, this place would be unbeatable.
Great local produce is a massive plus side!
Although a dew few points in this review arent 100% positive, it didn't put a dull on our night. We enjoyed it very much.
Thanks Saltwater!

We went as a party of 10 & were seated upstairs. We arrived 15 minutes before our booked time & were kindly given the option of having pre dinner drinks or taking our seats, we chose the latter. Our waitress was lovely & very attentive. Our drink orders came out quickly & soon after our meal orders were taken. Again, our waitress was friendly, efficient & did a great job. Our food arrived 75 minutes after being ordered, but honestly, we were enjoying ourselves so much no one really noticed. Some of the comments from individuals in our group re the food, the Pizza was delicious, fresh & tasty. The stake was cooked perfectly, the Calamari was fresh & tender. No one left hungry, portion sizes were great. It was possibly a little on the expensive side, but personally, I’m happy to pay a little more for good food & good service. Re the noise levels, if you’re looking for a quiet romantic dining experience, I suggest you go somewhere else. If you’re looking for great food & a good vibe & aren’t too worried about a bit of ambient noise, I think you’ll enjoy Salt Water. BTW, the views from upstairs were lovely, we also had the big sliding door open which was also lovely.

We went 2 weeks in a row and each time had a great meal and fantastic service from young but well trained and service oriented staff.
A very enjoyable experience with unbeatable ambience and outlook.
Well done!

Food was fantastic, service was good but the overall noise level was horrible. I simply wouldn’t go back due to the amount of noise. The experience was ruined by the amount of noise, took my family there as it was suppose to be the best place on the island and because of the noise my father in-law wasn’t able to hear anyone talk or quite frankly I couldn’t hear anyone talk either. Also on a side note the online booking system is terrible.

The noise is too much. I go for the outlook but there's no buffer with the noise.ĺFeels like we are all yelling
My daughter ordered the poke bowl for $40 w salmon. We were so shocked for as food people we know the cost of what was in it and you made about $30 in that meal. It was small and a rip off. Still love the position and it still feels special but the food quality has gone down from when it opened. Shame really. We are locals.

Very good food & drinks selection with attentive service. Will certainly be back.

So glad we discovered this place on our second last day in San Remo as it was the best meal we had during our 10 day stay. Went back again on our last night and again the food and friendly service did not disappoint. I commend the chef/s on the quality and flavours in the food. We tried many different dishes and all were delicious. Special mention must go to the wood fire chicken palma and the exquisite seafood and homemade linguini dish. I would drive the two hours back to New Haven just to go back to this restaurant and fully intend to do so hopefully in the near future 😋

The noise level was unbearable. This is our second visit in 12 months and we hoped you had fixed the noise problem. Unless you sit outside it’s unbearable for everyone including the staff FIX IT SOON

Noisy ...acoustics are awful can’t communicate that easily at the table. Really slow service we went twice in a week and both times it was way over an hour after we ordered before we got our meal .

It’s great on a hot day/night all the doors/windows open up !

Staff are nice it’s just the service was extra slow with the food delivery

We had a wonderful night seated next to the window. The floor to ceiling window was open and the view was fantastic. The seafood was fresh and really delicious and the drinks reasonably priced.

Highly recommended.

Loved it! We booked for an intimate birthday dinner and were both so impressed. We started with a pizza to share- it was delicious, amazing light crispy base and just the right amount of topping. I had the fish tacos, my partner the wood fired Parma and we both really enjoyed our meals. The food is delicious and I think reasonably priced for the quality. We’re based in Kilcunda and would now happily cross the bridge to have another pizza, glass of wine and enjoy that amazing view.
Kudos to all, it’s obvious that you have responded to feedback and really taken the opportunity to improve things in your stride. It’s an amazing location, the food was top class, and what a lovely relaxed vibe. We saw board shorts, dresses, jackets and everything in between. What a great representation of the Aussie summer, excellence in cuisine and our way of life. Well done. We will be back.

The restaurant was quiet and the service very slow - we had to go and get our own water from the counter after having asked twice! The waiters seemed very young and inexperienced.
The food was good however, I had severe heartburn from the chicken parma - far too oily.
Wine and cider was great.

Service terrible. It took ages to get served and then once we ordered drinks they took well over 20 minutes to arrive. Plates were not cleared for over half an hour after we finished eating, nobody came and asked if we wanted desserts, nobody came to ask if we wanted to order any more drinks at any stage after the first drink order and we had to go up to the bar. It was horribly noisy. The actual venue is nicely presented and beautiful views but I wouldn't rush back after the service. We left feeling disappointed and frustrated about the service and felt we were completely forgotten and overlooked all night. Not what I would expect from this type of establishment, especially for the prices you pay.
