The food was beautiful and the cocktails were outstanding. Our experience was let down by the crowded dining space including spontaneous casual diners joining other parties nearby. Uncomfortably squashed especially during Covid. Not recommended for a romantic couple dinner. Great for a group of friends.

Great food and good service however the meal size was too small to share. The Greek salad was particularly small for the price. Greek meals are generally on the generous side in other places.

We were so impressed with our dinner at Salona last Saturday Night. The chefs selection provided a fabulous showcase of the best greek food that we have experienced outside Greece. The service, the food and the experience of dining on the pavement made for a great night with friends. The dishes within the Chef's Menu were outstanding in quality, presentation and price.

Absolutely delicious 10/10 would recommend for a bit more a special occasion dining - but also suitable for your local (note it’s set menu only)

Excellent food, service, ambiance- however I do think if you only have a set menu available that should be made clear to patrons at time of booking.

Unfortunately we didn’t actually eat here as when we arrived they advised there was a set menu which was totally different to the normal menu linked in open table and they weren’t able to let us order from that. Please update the opentable conditions as it’s quite misleading and kinda ruined our night. Looked like a beautiful place though so we would love to try it one day once the set menu goes

We made a very last minute booking last week, and were incredibly impressed with our experience overall.

We opted for the set menu with a cocktail on the side. The Margherita was really refreshing.

The food was fresh, timely, and plentiful, and the waitstaff were polite and attentive. Our meal started with some tzatziki and saganaki.

The saganaki was a standout starter. Served with a delectable apricot jam, the saganaki came out sizzling to our table, and had an incredible caramelised-like crust on the top and bottom - YUM.

We decided to add some octopus on the side with our next course, along with our fried calamari. The octopus was served beautifully, with a touch of almost spicy sauce arranged on the plate. The calamari was fried nice and lightly, and the aioli was also a delicious match.

The meat platter was visually impressive, with chicken thighs, lamb cutlets and beef kefte served on a bed of rocket salad. The chicken in particular was a particular highlight - incredibly soft, juicy and cooked really well.

Definitely a new local spot for us, I only wish we’d discovered Salona earlier!

Unprofessional. Rude. Dishonest. Do not dine here.

We had a reservation for two on Friday evening at 8pm, so when we arrived, it was a complete surprise to find Salona was closed. After calling them three times to only hear the response of a message bank, we were approached by a woman at the adjacent restaurant who said several groups had just experienced the same inconvenience.

Turns out, Salona’s sister business Le Ciel Events in Cremorne St was holding a ticketed event for $150 pp and were offering it a discount of $80 pp to all Salona diners who had been inconvenienced. Sounded like a money-making ploy to us.

At no stage were we contacted by Salona to say they would be closed, and when we finally spoke to the boss at Le Ciel, a man named Stavros, he even apportioned the blame on us claiming we had entered an incorrect phone number in OpenTable, which was blatantly untrue.

We ultimately enjoyed a lovely Greek meal at Agapi - the restaurant next door.

Made a reservation through open table, which was confirmed via return email the day before our reservation, only to rock up for our booking and find locked doors and many more customers waiting outside at 8pm on a Friday night. Owners had decided to change location for a pop up, to which we were no notified, and once we worked it out and went to pop up location were told that our reservation had been lost and were left with no alternatives for the evening. Thank you for ruining our evening, total disorganization and lack of communication

We booked, had confirmation etc. And then arrived (along with a number of other people) to find it was closed. No notification. No sign. No subsequent apology. Just multiple emails from Open Table requesting a review. Very poor.

Amazing service and food. Both times I have been here (upstairs abs down) it has been freezing inside. Others were wearing outside coats inside too.

A very pleasant surprise. Excellent food, quantity perfect amount of quality ingredients. First day back after COVID lockdown and although everyone extremely busy the service provided was very smooth and efficient. Thoroughly recommend.

As usual Salona was outstanding with great food and great service. A very special place tucked away in Richmond.
