Sails Noosa, in Noosa Heads, is a restaurant that prides itself on serving contemporary Australian cuisine made with seasonal and local produce in its charming beachside eatery. The charred ciabatta bread with house smoked trout butter and the freshly shucked oysters with shallot vinegar with caraway grissini bread sticks make delectable appetizer options. Some of Sails Noosa's specialties include seafood dishes, such as the scorched miso marinated toothfish fillet with pickled watermelon radish and orange miso, the barbecue mud crab slathered in roast garlic butter and the mahi mahi beer battered fish and chips. Not in the mood for seafood? Sails Noosa also has sumptuous land fare, such as the grass-fed steak in mushroom butter, as well as vegetarian dishes, like the baked butternut pumpkin-filled zucchini flowers with potato gnocchi and pesto.
Sails Noosa is also an exceptional events space for both public and private functions.
We absolutely enjoyed our experience. The Sashimi was incredible and so was the service! We will be back.
Booked a table for my wife and I to enjoy a night out. We both thoroughly our evening finding that the food and service was exceptional.
Had an early dinner 5:15. Enjoyed the sunset with a cocktail 4 course dinner was superb
Disappointed by the tardy service. The restaurant was not crowded, but it took us so long to get service that we wound up with no desserts and had coffees across the road.
Brilliant food and service.... If ever in Noosa it should be on the top of your list. Makes dining with a baby effortless as food was quick and staff were super attentive.
Everything was spot on and beautiful
Very ordinary food, was expecting far more flavour for the cost
Barramundi tiny and tasteless
Incredible seafood and a marvelous wine lint are both eclipsed by the view. Restaurant flows right onto the beach. Simply spectacular.
Overall my favourite fine dining establishment in Noosa and Sunny Coast. Only comment on my pasta dish was that it could have been smaller.
generally a great spot in Noosa.
nice view, great food, awesome service.
we didn't get the best seats since booking it late, but you can still see the beach even inside the house. still pleasurable.
the waiters and waitress are responsive and heart-warming. yet I think it may be better to have more staff cuz every staff is so busy around.
we love the crab lasagna, an exciting combination.
and we were there for the fish & chips, since we've been told this is one of the best. and it is!
I am not impressed by the dessert, but still fine.
Had to order sparkling water twice as didn’t come the first time! Took 15 minutes for a drink to come out. Only about 5 tables - wasn’t busy at all! Mushroom dish was overwhelmed by a burnt ashy taste. Seafood linguine was far too rich - tomatoe paste - no chilli. After we complained we were ignored - plates weren’t cleared and no dessert or coffee menu offered so we left! So sad we love Sails. Had our wedding reception there and was our wedding anniversary. Really disappointing experience!
Service and food excellent. From moment walked in great table and service
We have tried to book at Sails on several previous trips to Noosa without success. It was worth the wait. The food, service and ambiance were all excellent. Although on the expensive side, it was a great dining experience. I would happily recommend Sails to anyone looking for a special night out.
The food was as ever very good but the service was mediocre. There was no attention, courses forgotten No specials offered and a general lack of care, so yes the food was good but the experience wasn’t
Very nice food and excellent service. Diners are not really able to appreciate the beachfront location at night and it was noisy on the night we were there. But overall, a very pleasant experience.
This was an amazing restaurant experience , we had heard about sails but never dined there , well what a mistake, the food was unreal , our waitress April was divine everything was 5 star , EXCEPT we were seated next to 4 very drunk , loud and disrespectful people who had had a big weekend at the food and wine festival , other people seated around the restaurant were quite uncomfortable with them as well , perhaps the waiters needed to refuse them more alcohol or quietly tell them it was time to go home
We had a lovely lunch! We visit Sails every time we come to Noosa!
This has long been my favourite Noosa venue. Even with the noise from the Food and Wine Festival event out the front, it was still brilliant. We even had a famous Australian chef on the next table so it attracts the best to dine.
The lamb shoulder was absolutely amazing. My partner had the trout cabiatta and absolutely loved it. We didn't have room for dessert but wish we did. If you are in Noosa highly highly highly recommend. My partner and I are fussy with what we eat. Thank you so much to our waiter Tim. We will be back, again if we are in Noosa.
Sails is a wonderful restaurant overlooking Noosa Main Beach. The food is delicious - recommend the Sashimi, the crab lasagna and the tuna tempura roll and for the main the pork belly. The outlook is fabulous capturing the essence of Noosa. Superb for lunch.
I booked for a special lunch with our daughter and son in law to celebrate their 12th anniversary. As usual the food was beautifully prepared and tasty. It is always a special treat to eat at Sails and definitely a go to restaurant for a special occasion. We usually go for the sea food options but our daughter preferred to try the pork belly. We were all very happy with our choices.
Great food experience in a fabulous seaside location with friendly service!
Always a wonderful meal.
The food was not good. The Morton Bay bug dish could almost be compared to the Leo Schofield lobster review. It was dry, the shellfish butter was sour. The side dish potatoes were stodgy. The "special" pasta was undercooked but burnt at the edges where it had been placed under the griller.
The barramundi may have been wild at some stage but had spent a long time frozen and was limp and watery.
Neither of us finished our meals. This restaurant trades on its location and its resort clientelle.
The food was nice and the location was great . The main disappointment was the service which may have been our individual waitress but when you charge this amount for food and location the service shouldn’t waiver.
Very enjoyable birthday with my best friend
We had a nice lunch at Sails, it’s in a fantastic spot overlooking the beach, and the service was very good. However the food is really overpriced for what it is, even considering the location. The lunchtime prawn sandwich “special” was tasty, but really not worth $21! And $14 for a bowl of oven chips is crazy.
The activity pack for the kids is great though.
Fantastic food and wonderful service. It’s not cheap but great value for what you get. I will be going back.
Pre dinner cocktails and the gentleman who looked after us at the bar was a great start to the night. Everything at Sails was fantastic, the ambiance, exemplary food and the service!
Sails has gone down hill fast. Service was terrible, multiple times we were filling our wine glasses ourselves. Food was just warm and tasteless. $900 for 4 people is a lot of money.....For that everything should be top shelf. We went to Wasabi for $480 for 2 and that was well worth it. Was is s stay clear!
Superb dining experience!
Sails never disappoints the food , service and view was exceptional
Amazing! The food here is incredible and so well priced. The service was excellent and the wait time for our meals was minimal. Love Sails. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful food, great service, stunning view
We sat out front and had a fabulous waiter, lovely meal and evening overall. Thanks
Great food & service. The waiter Jay was very accommodating to our needs. The servings were substantial and the slow cooked lamb shoulder was cooked to perfection.
The location is excellent, being adjacent to the beach. The food menu was varied and interesting and the choices that we made, both for entrée and mains were excellent. There is an extensive and interesting wine list and we were very pleased with the choice that we made. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived and delivery of entrees was a little slow, but this was the only negative that we encountered in an excellent evening.
Over priced for very average, flavourless food. One of the signature dishes is the seafood spaghetti. Pasta was so over cooked it was as soft as mush. This from a world class head chef apparently! Go to Miss Moneypennys instead for a cheaper and tastier equivalent dish.
Seevice from head waitress was shocking! She looked like she’d prefer to be chewing glass rather than looking after customers. Other staff very friendly which somewhat made up for it.
The view is the only thing going for this place.
We went to Sails for our anniversary and were given a great table overlooking the beach. The food was excellent as was the service. Wonderful evening all round.
Perfect night out with the family.
I’m not sure how we have missed this fantastic restaurant on previous visits. Stunning venue with views over the ocean. Mixture of small groups, families and couples dining. Varied menu and great kids menu. Waiter was very attentive but not over bearing. Appreciated the menu and wine recommendations. Only regret was not enough room for desert but a good excuse to go back!
