Sails Noosa, in Noosa Heads, is a restaurant that prides itself on serving contemporary Australian cuisine made with seasonal and local produce in its charming beachside eatery. The charred ciabatta bread with house smoked trout butter and the freshly shucked oysters with shallot vinegar with caraway grissini bread sticks make delectable appetizer options. Some of Sails Noosa's specialties include seafood dishes, such as the scorched miso marinated toothfish fillet with pickled watermelon radish and orange miso, the barbecue mud crab slathered in roast garlic butter and the mahi mahi beer battered fish and chips. Not in the mood for seafood? Sails Noosa also has sumptuous land fare, such as the grass-fed steak in mushroom butter, as well as vegetarian dishes, like the baked butternut pumpkin-filled zucchini flowers with potato gnocchi and pesto.
Sails Noosa is also an exceptional events space for both public and private functions.
Unfortunately despite providing this detail was for a birthday on a booking - well in advance and clearly both my partner and I walked in by ourselves and dressed up, we had a family of 6 seated right next to us .. happened half way through our meal and that meant my partner couldn’t move in and out of his chair and the high chair was right behind him.
The table next to us had 3 children u see the age of 5 and one very loud crying toddler and one child crawling under the table.
It would be nice that the restaurant plan and take care of seating arrangements so there is limited disruption to other guests.
We had a lovely lunch at Sails and thoroughly enjoyed the meal, drinks and ocean views.
This restaurant has the most wonderful view of the beach. The location is beautiful and the restaurant doesn’t disappoint with its service and food - both are excellent
Always great nice food good service and the best location in Noosa
Sails is by far the best restaurant in Noosa. Food is unbelievable, staff is very helpful and friendly, atmosphere is great too. If you’re looking for a special night out, highly recommend Sails.
Sails is one of our reliable favourites in the Noosa region. Sitting, sipping good wine and delicious food, overlooking beautiful Noosa Beach it is hard to beat this dining experience, I always think that the entree’s are the highlight and so we often share so we can enjoy different flavours, but really the whole meal is always excellent. We keep coming back and that’s the best recommendation.
We had an amazing table, the view was perfect, and the service from Mel was outstanding! As always, a gorgeous night out!
Our first dinner at Sails in many many years and it has not lost its touch. This time, with our 8 year old who loved it so much he wanted to go back the next night! Thankyou for a beautiful meal and special family dining experience.
Superb location. Great menu with excellent presentation as usual. Our favourite restaurant at Noosa Heads.
Ran out of menu items and served me the wrong wine
Wonderful evening. Service was excellent and the food delicious. Thankyou Sails. Look forward to coming back in the next week
Sails is always our favourite restaurant in Noosa. We particularly enjoyed this visit with children at sunset - a terrific end to a wonderful holiday. Our waiter Tim was exceptional - thank you for looking after us.
Outstanding as per usual. Lovely staff excellent food and magnificent scenery.
Venue was absolutely stunning, we were lucky enough to have a beach front table. Service was great and very friendly. Food was delicious, the fish portion size could have been a little bigger but overall I would definitely come back here again.
Never disappoints!!! We got married here and love coming back every year! The food is amazing, wine is delicious and the service is always so friendly and lovely! Thanks sails!!
One of our favorites when we are in Noosa! Views are amazing and so is the food. The staff are also great with the kids. The kids menu is a good size and real food. Settle in for a nice lunch after a morning at the beach.
Beautiful ambience, wonderful food and service. Value for money.
Excellent experience. Staff were great, excellent friendly service from Mel and others.
Great service and the food was excellent. We come here every year and will do so for many more.
We had a lovely experience at Sails and visit the restaurant every time we go to Noosa. The food as usual was always amazing, fresh and delicious. The wait staff are exceptional and very accomodating. Would recommend to anyone.
We Always go for dinner here when we are in Noosa
Love it 👌🏽
Sails Noosa is great lunch spot in sunny, clear weather overlooking Noosa main in beach - great food and unobtrusive personalised, service. We had a birthday lunch there and learned a new term - “cakeage! Turned our cake into a nicely plated desert. Wine list quite extensive with a few quite average wines overpriced but something for everyone.
Great food. Great service, just the pace of it was way too fast - we didn’t have time to digest between courses!
The setting is great, the food fantastic and the service attention. We sat on the edge of outside, which was great - good view and a cool breeze
Sails Restaurant is a local gem with exquisite open-air waterfront views of Noosa’s main beach. The creative menu, using local produce, teamed with a notable wine list and exceptional staff, lend to the fine dining ambiance. A must-do!
Fine dining at it’s best. Extensive wine list. Very good personalised service.
Very good food with locally sourced ingredients. Good price/ quality ratio.
Very well located and very good ambiance
Sails is one of our favourite restaurants. Staff are always helpful, food is consistently good and the outlook is superb.
Always really nice food and service - a must visit.
Always excellent food and service in an amazing location
Wonderful place. Location right on the beach. Loads of fun
Amazing food, wine, venue and service. What more can one ask for. Thank you once again and we will be back 👏
We book this restaurant in advance every holiday as it never disappoints! Hard to go past a Long lunch - usually accompanied by a delicious Chardonnay from the extensive collection, this year however a magnum of rosé was our table fave!
Beautiful location with great food options. Always great service, with knowledgeable staff about their menu and extensive wine list
Fabulous food, great ambience.
The service was fantastic we had the best waiter he was very helpful and informative. I had the scallop entre on a shell I thought that was grossly overpriced it was 1 scallop cut Into tiny pieces and it was tasteless . We ordered the house red and it was lovely. Overall very pricey for what you get . I think you are paying for the location . In closing we are pretty sure the waiters name was Travis and he certainly made the night ..
A great fine dining experience of the highest quality. Excellent service and absolutely the highest standard of food and wine. Our new favourite restaurant
As a local I had always heard such great reports about sails and thought I should finally go and see for myself what the hype was all about. Sadly I was very disappointed. Although the manager was accomodating with our request for a beach front table, and the staff were friendly and somewhat attentive unfortunately the menu and the overall quality of the meals left little to be desired.
Being located so close to main beach one would have presumed seafood and fish would be a highlight on the menu. I was excited to see Mahi Mahi fish and chips so decided to order that as a main course. Only to hear that it wasn’t available and only swordfish and barramundi offered in its place. I might not have thought too much about it if it had been listed as ‘fish and chips’ rather than battered Mahi Mahi. To my mind - if you can’t offer it consistently , don’t advertise it on your menu.
We did order the battered fish despite the fact that it wasn’t Mahi Mahi. Again, further disappointment to discover the oil it had been deep fried in tasted old and rancid.
The signature dish for sails seems to be the fresh mud crab. It is sold by weight and cooked traditionally. This was very tasty and our guest who ordered it was not disappointed. However, that still left 4 out of 5 of us who were.
Our final bill was around $700 which seemed like a lot to pay for what, sadly, in the end was just an average meal on the beach.
Great. We keep coming back each year to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
