Nice Grilled Salmon Salad
fennel, anchovy, roasted peppers, crisp potato, farm egg, nicoise olive aioli, green beans, frisee, arugula, red wine vinaigrette
roasted potatoes, squash, brussels sprouts, kale, peppers, poached egg, mustard seed cream
Always friendly staff, great menu with lots of variety, pleasant environment and very reasonable prices. It's become my favorite in Arlington, not the least of which is for the abundant parking. But really, it's all about the food.
It is a delicious adventure eating anything on Chef Hill’s RAD menu!!!!! Better yet; service, management, meal portion & bar offerings match the outstanding menu.
We will continue to celebrate RAD at any occasion!
Great food and service. Big plates are actually big. Stupendous steak and eggs.
I had been so excited to try this place and definitely hyped it up in my mind - perhaps too much.
The good: my flat white was tasty
The interior and design is very nice and comfortable
The not so good: tbh, all the food seemed to be lacking something. I got the hushpuppies, the deviled eggs, and the Brisket Hash. The flavors were lacking and unremarkable across the board. It was edible but completely unbalanced and without pizazz. The hushpuppies had an “off” taste to them. The deviled eggs just weren’t good. The Brisket Hash ... just seemed like the wrong mix of flavors and textures. The brisket was too smokey (and I would have liked it to be more tender), the Brussels sprouts should be removed (too bitter, throws off the balance), and the double combo of sweet potato and regular potato seemed like too much potato. Just not much flavor there. Also - too oily!
Based on the food, I don’t really see a reason to return - very disappointed considering the other reviews! It was a busy place and seems popular. But the food is missing a spark that wouldn’t draw me back.
Sitting outside wasn’t my favorite experience but overall a very nice place!
Great food, varied memo so both the salad and barbecue eaters were happy. Nice, friendly but not intrusive service. Nice patio heaters so nice to eat outside even in December!
Short menu with good variety, great flavors, and substantial portions. Highly recommended.
Always get the brisket but tried the halibut special and it was amazing.
Great menu options; prompt service; nice decor
The service was great and the lunch was truly delicious. And the bill was very reasonable. Will come back.
Everything was great and the meat was superb! We’ll be back next date night!
Mac cheese, biscuits w raspberry preserves, farm salad w red wine vinaigrette. Yum.
Great food as always and they prepared a special treat for my niece’s first birthday.
Ruthie’s is always the best. It’s my favorite go to place.
The Ruthie's brunch menu had something for everyone in our party - from the delicious scratch-made biscuits and house-made jam to the flavorful sausage that is made and smoked on the premises. Ruthie's All Day was the perfect Sunday brunch destination that gave us all a break from our Thanksgiving leftovers.
It was great! I will be back again. Keep up the good work.
Great place for brunch! Love the atmosphere of inside and a nice patio outside when its nice out!
My husband’s first time, we had to wait almost 10 minutes to be acknowledged once seated.
Server was busy, probably had more tables than normal but even a quick greeting would have been nice. There were quite a few busboys but they didn’t offer water or coffee.
Omelette was good
Busy weekend brunch with indoor and outdoor seating. Great food choices for different food intolerances. Temperature was a little chilly near the windows but air-flow is good to keep us healthy these days :)
Sat outside and it wasn't too cold to enjoy. Food was delicious.
Good menu variety. Large portions. Lively atmosphere. Accommodating staff.
We sat at the bar during brunch. Our bartender was a young gentleman and made great recommendations on the menu. He was very quick to serve us and ask us if we needed anything. The food was outstanding as well as the service. 10/10 recommend
Stopped for breakfast. Amazing breakfast we had. The apple donuts are worth it. Will be back if we are in the area.
Absolutely loved the decor!! The staff was friendly and the menu had great options for sharing , cocktails and a variety of items. The portions were generous and I recommend the apple donuts with raspberry jam!!
We drove down from NJ during Black Friday and totally misjudged how long it would take us to get to the restaurant. I made a reservation for 6:45pm and we got there around 5:35pm. In addition, my reservation was for the outdoor patio and no heat lamps were available because it was so windy and would cause the lamps to toppled over. The hostess was very accommodating and were able to seat us right away and indoors. We ordered 3 appetizers - the corn bread, the grilled octopus and the dry rubbed wings. Everything was delicious. My family thought the corn bread was a little dry but the butter more than make up for it. The entrees were also delicious. We had the salmon entree w/ mac and cheese and hand punched fries, salmon salad, brisket sandwich w/ hand punched fries and hangar steak w/ brussel sprouts and greens. There was lot of food. I have to say the brussel sprouts were best I ever had. If I knew ahead of time, I would have skip my salmon salad and ordered a few of the brussel sprouts sides. Both salmon were cooked to perfection. We were so full, we had no room for desserts.
Great find. Not your typical diner...outstanding!
The smoked duck and the salmon salad were delicious. Good portions of each dish. Someone in our party noted that a bowl of soup is not really a dish to share. Biscuits were disappointing for a southern-themed restaurant.
Great restaurant! Thoughtful menu, parking is easy, nice vibe. The meal was excellent and service was attentive.
Not as good as last visits. The hanger steak was tough and the burgers not cooked as ordered. The cornbread excellent as usual. The ribs succulent.
Enjoyed the food, service was friendly if slow on a busy pre-holiday, but it is very hard to carry on a conversation. Everything tasted homemade! Can't wait to come back.
Great restaurant, food was outstanding, especially loved my brussel sprout side dish and cookies and ice cream dessert. Very yummy!!
Although it claims to a diner, I've never been to a diner like Ruthie's all day. The food was very, very good with a some dishes worthy of fine dining. Great bar.
We were coming from Charlottesville, VA, for a concert in Alexandria, and wanted to have a special meal with special friends—one of whom we learned was actually his birthday the next day! So it was perfect, and their choice!
We loved the selection of food which was both broad and eclectic, while also familiar and intriguing! Love, love, love the corn bread (gorgeous heap of butter on it’s crown!), and the unexpected twist on a favorite of mine, the hushpuppies (was that shrimp in there?), SO good! The burger and fries were great, and others who got the Cobb Salad, duck, and bbq were all exclaiming and sharing amongst themselves! (A family, so did so safely!) We had one of every dessert—Butterscotch Pudding! Who knew!? What a fun basic but yummy comfort food! The Apple Crisp and Campfire Cookies and Ice Cream were equally as yummy and comforting as they were delicious!
And it all allowed us a sweet and yummy opportunity to catch up. The wait staff, while attentive and sensitive and showed up at all the perfect times with food or refills, were also perceptive and heard us exclaiming about the birthday at the table and included a candle for our birthday dad at the table! A perfect evening and meal together. Best part was not having to cook and just showing up! Prices were reasonable and service was great! The confidence and relief to have our spot reserved through Open Table allowed me to focus on other details related to our trip! It was great to know that was taken care of! And the app allowed me to easily share info with others in our party! It’s come a long way since I last used it when living in DC! (And pre-Covid!) All went smoothly! Thanks to the Ruthie’s All Day staff and Open Table for making our sweet reunion possible, enjoyable, and seamless! Bravo!
The food is good. My main thought is the relatively narrow food menu. Lots more beer and alcohol options which is fun for happy hour.
