Rusty Pelican - Miami
You come here for the gorgeous views of Miami, but the food is also pretty good. On the pricier side, but overall great brunch spot on a sunny Sunday.
Very loud and overpriced
Food ok, view amazing. Service was a bit rushed, food came too quickly
Always a great experience at this restaurant! Love the fresh seafood and great service! Roberto was amazing waiter!
Great View! Our waiter was extremely polite and courteous. The hostess was somewhat difficult when we asked for a particular seating area. We made a reservation for 11:30am. We walk in, the restaurant is basically empty and we asked for a different table that was literally 3ft away. She gave a BS excuse of why we couldn’t sit there and finally conceded when I asked her to further explain. It was an overall great experience but was almost ruined by the difficult hostess.
Great dinner. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding.
Amazing views and super delicious seafood. Love this place. Check out the seafood Tower.
Great food and good service!
Great location with tasty food, wonderful view und a really good service. Parking is no problem. Very friendly staff.
The drinks are amazing and the seafood tower is to die for. Didn’t like the rib eye which were 2 slices and popcorn. Horrible concoction by a chef
Amazing amazing amazing!!!!
Beautiful scenery, excellent, creative delicious food with beautiful presentation!
I love The Rusty Pelican, in general. However, for this occasion—where I was responsible for dining Canadian friends—I was especially glad that our server was Ricky who is utterly professional, yet very friendly.
The food was delicious (except for the chicken from the kids’ menu and the rib eye steaks that followed (which were completely unacceptable). Nonetheless, we were very pleased with the sea bass entree as well as the grilled snapper and Tequila chicken.
Thank you, but even more so, to Ricky for helping it be a lovely experience.
Service was great until our dinner was served. After dinner, our table was not cleared and the desert menu was brought when they should have brought the bill.
We eventually had to ask the sommelier for the bill. Our waiter was, AWOL.
We appreciate not being rushed but in this case, we were ignored.
We also ordered two bottles of wine which we poured during and after dinner.
This is a fantastic restaurant but on this occasion, survice was the weak link.
This restaurant never disappoints. The best view of the Miami Skyline. The food and service were excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant any time. A Miami classic for sure.
Everything was awesome fantastic view and food
Growing up in Miami in 70,s ..this has been a special place for us for so many years. We hosted my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary party here 11 years ago and took them back tonight for their 61st. Our server touted their Chilean Sea Bass but recommended the mushrooms and asparagus as sides over the plantain mash. Three of us ordered the Sea Bass ... I wished I had gotten the grilled snapper that my husband ordered. The Sea bass while flakey , was over sauced and looked like it was made in mass. The plantain mash was very smoky ( my MIL said it was spicy) and was way to heavy a side dish for the Sea Bass. I took out servers recommendation and got the asparagus and mushroom/ onion side. This was definitely a better option, but the mushroom/ onions looked made in mass as well. My husband got his snapper fried and said it was excellent.
I love this place for it’s view of Miami and the special memories it hold for me and my husband, but their food is hit or miss.... The prices they charge and the abundance of fresh seafood available in this area, it could be so much better. They did go out of their way to bring us a complimentary champagne toast and decorated our desert plate with an Anniversary message...
Overall, just be careful what you order, but the view and space is amazing
Good but expensive! Ordered my daughter a glass of champagne for lunch, $21.00 per glass! Food was good not over the top. Service by Douglass was the best part of the experience. Food took a long time to come out. Not that that was a big deal for us. We had all afternoon. Great table as well. Right in the corner with lots of windows. It was kinda loud in there. We had a big table sitting right behind us.
Had a wonderfull time. 4th july fireworks was a bit disappointing. I expected to see much more.
My favourite restaurant in Miami. We came for Fourth of July fireworks and got a table right outside with a great view. Our server Rosa was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was impeccable as always. Can't wait to go back.
Los ostiones frescos no estuvieron a la altura del resto de la comida
Extremely scenic and atmospheric to suit.... but you’re paying for the the view not top quality food. The value for money is extremely disjointed. To go for a couple of drinks and perhaps an appetizer whilst enjoying the beautiful surroundings Miami has to offer, then fair enough but I would seriously consider going for a 3-5 course dining experience as the food does not live up to the glamorous dish titles
Awesome place. Food was great, but the snapper could have been seasoned. Overall great experience, nice place, great food
Was excellent. The place is beautiful and food is amazing
Went for my birthday and had one of the best nights ever !
Dirty utensils, dirty glasses, when entering the location it stinked of raw sewer.
Celebrating with friends for all if our birthdays
Great food. Excellent service. Don’t miss their cornbread with Parmesan butter.
Our second visit, and it was very nice. Great views of the water, and top notch service. The food is decent, nothing particularly special or outstanding. Considering the beautiful views and overall upscale ambiance, the prices are quite reasonable, we did brunch for two for $50.
I came with my family to enjoy food with a view and I let me tell you! We were lucky enough to have Julian C. as our server. He was excellent! Very on point and very attentive. Amazing service! I give it *(5 stars lol). The ambiance was amazing! Food was superb. I cannot complain! Thank you so much Julian for making our experience a great one!
Don’t judge by the name
It’s a gem and location and scenery is amazing
This is always one of my favorite places to dine! The views are amazing and if it’s breezy I recommend sitting outside! Shrimp cocktail is 100% a must and the best in soflo. I usually get the surf and turf with short rib and lobster over the Mac and chz and everyone always wants to have a bite of mine! Lol , highly recommended!
Returned for the anniversary of my husband's proposal to me a year ago there. Always beautiful upscale and elegant restaurant with a great view.
Food is very overpriced however and doesn't taste good. (I heard the snapper was good however) mediocre food for the extreme price. Still a very nice and romantic restaurant. We have been there 3 times. We knew the food wasn't great (rarely seasoned, very limited options) but we were simply enjoying the memories. We liked it for the ambience as it it is on the water and across from downtown Miami. So the Miami skyline is visible indoors and outdoors of the restaurant. That's the hype about the place, so it would be recommended for special occasions for that reason only. (They should maintain their ceiling to floor glass windows better if they know that people like to view through them) ours was very stained and we took pictures at someone else's window view. Overall still a decent restaurant just not good for price or the food.
Great food, great service
Our waiter was excellent he went out of him way to accommodate us.been here before and will definitely come back.
EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT FOR OUR SPECIAL OCCASION! OUTSTANDING!
If you are looking for great food..... unfortunately this isn’t the place to go to. Generally flavor-less food and horrible portion sizes on Chilean sea bass that was microscopic (even when sent back for a larger piece) there was more plantain mash underneath than the fish which was supposed to be the star of the dish. Service was slow..... with all of that said if you are looking for unbelievable views THAT is why you should go..... i suggest for drinks only though.
