We offer a menu based on traditional dining experiences in Lebanon where small to medium sized dishes are shared amongst the table. The food is authentic but done with a refined approach and a deft interpretation of a classic cuisine. The plate size encourages sharing in the traditional dining style of Lebanon.
Spiced lamb shoulder
slow roasted on the bone, served with sirkanjabin
saffron honey, Brussels sprouts, golden raisins, dried mint
Lovely atmosphere, great helpful staff and delicious food
Delicious veg options particularly the roasted cauliflower and the eggplant dish. A little lacking in ambience with no background music playing.
Great food, great service. Overall experience couldn’t be faulted
Brilliant food. Great service. Will be back soon. Little pricey though. I recommend bringing shisha to it.
Had a lovely night, great food and terrific service from our head waitress who really helped us with selections.
Delicious food and lots of it (we had the classic banquet). Will be back again :)
Always reliable. Delicious banquet. Friendly and efficient waitstaff.
Great service & food, Thankyou for a lovely evening
Absolutely amazing experience! Waitress was exceptional, manager was exceptional, food was exceptional! Truly enjoys the decor, as well! ❤️
Great food, great service, value for money. The best middle-eastern/Mediterannean food I've had. Been twice over the last few months. It's quite noisy so bear that in mind if you are noise sensitive. We have dined early, and late. Definitely more pleasant as the crowd dissipates, and the noise level drops. Otherwise, highly recommended.
The service was excellent and waiter expertly assisted us with food choices. Food was lovely as was wine. A pleasant and relaxed evening on a not so busy week night
Good customer service, friendly and professional service
It was a great experience. Nice fusion recipes with the Persian hint made it more interesting.
Rumi is a fantastic. The lamb was amazing and the quail is a must!!
We felt the value for money was quite poor. The food is delicious, but are left feeling hungry (we did the banquet on Valentine's day at $69 per head).
First time @ Rumi , mind blown. Can’t wait to come back.
Rumi was a great place to celebrate a family birthday. We chose the banquet option and they readily adapted it to suit the needs of a coeliac. Food was delicious, service excellent .
It was a very hot night and the air conditioning was nor on in the front room. We didn’t feel like staying fir dessert because it was too hot.
Great food, good drink selection, good service staff.... the barbecued chicken wings are fantastic!!
I took interstate visitors here to give them a taste of Melbourne.
We were not disappointed staff very welcoming and helpful food was really delicious . A wonderful evening will return
The food at Rumi is a festival for the mouth. The almond taratoor, the feta and haloumi cigars, that delicious pilaf and the always tantalizing desserts were highlights on our most recent visit. The service is excellent and informed. The mocktails can sometimes not hit the mark in terms of displaying the flavours promised, but overall, Rumi is with coming back to for as many repeats as possible.
Excelente servicio y deliciosa comida. Muy recomendable
Wonderful well balanced food
Fantastic service and very accomodating of food allergies
Friendly and attentive staff
Premium Venue that should be on everyone’s restaurant destination list
Fabulous food and very helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely be going back!
Any restaurant that is named after a poet needs a look. Eating at Rumi was a wonderful experience. The food was truly beautiful. Middle Eastern food and culture represented in all its splendor.
The food was lovely and service was great. Unfortunately, the noise level was too loud to talk, and then the music was turned on, that our group was prevented from talking. We decided to leave and order dessert and coffee elsewhere.
Apart from a very unusual bit of confusion about paying via one of those dreaded portable swipe-me/touch- me machines the end, it was a very welcome return to 'Rumi' for us after having been regulars for quite a while (-- only thing that makes regular visits a bit hard is the traffic and parking in the immediate locality but the effort's definitely worth it).
Becoming a favourite way of celebrating NYE - love the banquet, the atmosphere and no-fuss, down to earth service. See you next NYE!
Thanks for a lovely meal
Service was excellent
Enjoyed it immensely
A favorite , never disappoints ! Highly recommend Rumi for its authenticity , warm welcoming wait staff and of course menu .
One of the best options on Lygon St, Brunswick East for 10+ years now. Never disappoints.
Brought my picky friends to Rumi’s for first time for our annual Xmas breakup. They loved the food, service was great and everyone said they’d come again. Only thing I’d pick on is the acoustics.
Food great! ate too much.....noisy, you need baffles.
Great food! Great experience! Good GF options. They should add a GF rice option to the menu 😊
Simply Amazing food with good service. Definitely recommend this place
Everything we ate and drank was perfect, the service was top notch and vibe was bustling (a touch on the noisy side but no major issue).
Only slight quibble was that we picked the restaurant because of the banquets on offer but we weren’t able to select them as one of us is vegetarian, the other is not.
I know it’s tricky with only 2 people to allow this, but a lot of restaurants do allow it.
Other than that, it was awesome!
I am fussy as my Lebanese husband is a terrific cook so my standards are high . Rumi did not disappoint . The staff were friendly and courteous , the dishes were delicious , authentic and served promptly as is typical of Lebanese restaurants . Their version of fatoush was equivalent to the best I have tasted . Highly recommended .
Amazing dining experience with outstanding vegetarian options.
Staff were exceptionally informative, engaging and cheerful.
Would highly recommend for a food and culture experience.
Solid performer year after year and clearly still run with a lot of love and care.
Delicious food and amazing cocktails! Been here twice and has impressed both times.
