We offer a menu based on traditional dining experiences in Lebanon where small to medium sized dishes are shared amongst the table. The food is authentic but done with a refined approach and a deft interpretation of a classic cuisine. The plate size encourages sharing in the traditional dining style of Lebanon.
Amazing. We go to Rumi every time we are in Melbourne. Always beautiful. The lamb! Omg
Great food and especially good for our vegetarian friend. Informal but great for celebration.
We went to Rumi for Mother's day dinner. The service was great and staff very friendly. Our food was spectacular and there was plenty of it. I had the matching drinks with my meal and I was very happy with the selection apart from the walnut liquor which was not to my taste. Great ambiance and lovely venue. Will definitely go again.
This was the first visit when I was a little disappointed. The food was rather bland and could have been $10 less per head for what we received, as the drinks were charged at premium prices, so the money was being made there anyway. I much prefer their veg nights, so I was surprised that I wasn’t wowed on Mother’s Day.
I would still go back but I couldn’t rave about it anymore as the rest of the party couldn’t understand why I’ve been talking this place up for a couple of years.
I think it’s better value on a regular day so will return then.
this is the best restaurant i have been to in Melbourne by far. The decor was amazing, the service was fantastic and the food was beyond words. It was also reasonably priced. We went in with a bunch of different dietry requirements (annoying i know) and they handled it so so well. They were able to make most of the dishes Vegan, for the vegan on the table, they were able to change the seafood dish for the person allergic to seafood, be able to make the meat dishes for the meat eaters-with not even a complaint! They also have a wide selection of creative cocktails! i had a Turkish delight cocktail and it was spot on. i cant wait to go back! my favourite dishes were the cheese cigars, the hommus, the lamb shoulder, the rice salad yummmm.
Food was fantastic as always. Our waiter needed some training on the wine list.
We enjoyed the range of dishes which we shared. Each dish was distinctive in flavours and textures and went well with the overall menu. Great wine and service- favourite dishes were the school prawns and slow cooked lamb. We will return for another meal soon.
This was the first, and much anticipated, dining experience at Rumi. Regrettably it was very disappointing. There was pressure to order quickly, and food was served promptly giving the impression that despite the two hour window we must eat and exit. Generally the food was tasty, but unremarkable compared with other Middle Eastern restaurants. Some of our main course meals were delivered with our starters, but without rice. When mentioned, those main course plates were removed to the kitchen, but returned together with the rest of the main course meals later. They were evidently the same plates as they were virtually cold, and we had been asked if we like them delivered now. Noise levels were high with all the hard services. Thus, with mediocre food, poor service and uncomfortable noise levels Rumi is not a restaurant I will either recommend or return to. Shame!
Wonderful food and enthusiastic service. Enjoyed by all.
Food was average. Waitress was good.manager was not good.wouldn't accept our entertainment card so we could receive discount because she didn't know which number to scratch off the card.very poor effort from the manager. Will be spreading the word out to all my friends and colleagues not to go to rumi.

Delicious food, well executed cooking and balance of flavours. I remember Joseph from est est est as an apprentice, it's fantastic to see how he's progressed and tapped in to his cultural background to create wonderful from the heart food.
Service was good and food was great! Will be back again 😊
Thank you for the great experience!
Each of the courses at Rumi were absolutely mouth-watering.
Rumours has food that is worth taking the time to enjoy
We had an early dinner on a Tuesday night. Food was beautiful, service was just right and the restaurant was quiet due to the early hour.
Our first visit to Rumi whilst visiting Melbourne from America. Brilliant food. Fantastic prix fixe tasting menu and great service. We would definitely return.
this restaurant is a great find. Everything is delicious and highlighted by the amazing middle eastern flavours. Plan to come here every time I am in Melbourne
We had the banquet and loved it. Great food and relaxed atmosphere.
Great food very accommodating
Rumi was alive and buzzing in a Tuesday night. Fantastic food a service. Can’t wait to go back
Or booking happened to be seated at a table that had half the guests staring directly into a setting sun which made things difficult for an hour or so.
The price/quality/service was impressive! A touch noisy perhaps.
The only annoying aspect of the night was the waitress often coming to the table asking if we were finished with each course when there was obviously food still on our plates-it was intrusive and felt pressured to hurry up
However the complementary Prosecco was a nice touch on International Women’s Day
The waitress could have been more attentive as the restaurant was quiet. However the food is amazing !
We had a lovely night and extremely glad that we made the effort to come to Brunswick from the Eastern suburbs. Amazing food and service. We will be back and will bring friends. Thankyou and keep up the great work Rumi
My only criticism would be towards the $7 pickles! Having lived in the Middle East and eaten a lot of delicious fresh pickles, I thought these were overpriced and didn't taste fresh. Other than that, service was great. Wait staff were friendly and approachable and the rest of the dishes we ordered were good.
The food was interestingly presented and well spiced, we enjoyed every mouthful! The staff were informative of the food and extremely accommodating when booking, We will look forward to returning and trying more dishes.
Rumi delivered an amazing meal once again. They never fail to delight and I will continue to go and to recommend Rumi to anyone looking for a middle eastern meal.
Very tasty, high quality ingredients, lots of variety and exceptional value.
So delicious. Rumi has been one of my favourite restaurants for years. Unfortunately my glass of Shiraz was served cold (glasses and bottles stored too close to the airconditioning?) which affected the flavour, but everything else was great.
We enjoyed everything we ordered. The flavours were amazing. Staff were polite and helpful.
We have been to Rumi many times & have always been happy with the food, but the Valentine’s Day set menu was disappointing. The portions were too small for the price charged .
Rumi is my fav restaurants in Brunswick. Service is always nice and friendly and the food is fresh and full of flavour. I love it!
Food was not very good. Food was just average. Wouldn't recommend

We love Rumi, wonderful food and terrific service. Best valentines dessert I've ever had!
Really enjoyed the food. I was with a party of 4 and we ordered several dishes to share. The food was very good. Each person in my group enjoyed it. I had to squeeze in a dessert which was pretty yummy.
I would definitely go back!
The food at Rumi can't be faulted - delicious, good-sized servings and something for everyone. Service is very good (our waitress was excellent - short, dark hair; there was another one with little ponytails who was unfriendly and brusque but all she did was slam down a few plates and walk off - thank god we didn't have her all night!). I have to say, though, that I'm a bit scandalised by paying $7.50 for a bottle of water... really? The space is very noisy (we had the misfortune of a very loud group next to us - someone talking about personal health issues in a booming, grating voice) so if that doesn't suit you, you'll need to take that into consideration.
One of my fave places to eat in Brunswick, as a vegetarian it is brilliant, such a variety and so good!
Lovely staff and amazing food! Wine list could have a bit more variety however the cocktails make up for what’s missing.
Just amazing food accompanied by wonderful attentive service
