The food was fabulous. Great portions and prices. Very accommodating and nice atmosphere. Great for parties too. The owner even came over to introduce himself and offered us an after dinner drink. We will be back!
The Veal Sorrentino and Baked Clams were outstanding! Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and helped us make great choices.
Excellent food, wine and service. The upstairs attracts a lot of families so if you are looking for a night away from your children, you might prefer downstairs.
Route One is an excellent addition to the Larchmont/New Rochelle restaurant line up. A great choice for good food and conversation.
Was very good. Service was great!!!
We went for Valentine’s Day and the food was outstanding. The food is served family style and the portions are large. We ordered penne alla vodka, veal franchese, baked clams, and burata. All were delicious - but the vodka sauce is addictive.
Excellent food and service
We ordered way too much food. We will know better next time. I will definitely be back. It was a little pricey but we did have several high end drink. Food is delicious.
Great addition to our town!
We had an early (5 pm) reservation for New Year's Eve. The service was outstanding and our waitress (Ellie) was perfect, answering our questions regarding the food. Our food was delicious, compliments to the chef!
Average experience - food just ok but expensive for what u get.
The food and portions were very good. Overall we have a pleasant dinner. Service was only OK, it took too long to order and get information.
Fantastic meal, great service. Highly recommend
It was our first time with a party of four. We all ordered different entrees and loved them! I was blown away by my entree, the flavors were incredible and I would definitely order this again (it was the chicken spezia) if was more than enough for two! Our shrimp cocktail was also on point! Fresh and very good! Only think the husbands would have liked more variety with the beer selection. Other than that- very happy and will most definitely return!
Prepare yourself for an excellent meal. We started with salad. Everything was finely chopped and mixed at the table. My husband said it was the best salad he ever had. We added salami and cheese and that was as finely chopped as the rest of the ingredients. We both had the branzino...mine broiled, his oreganato and both delicious. The service was very attentive and the prices reasonable. This is not the place for a romantic evening because they do attract a crowd and lots of families so the noise level is more than what you might want for that type of evening. Try it...you will love it!
It took over 2 hours to get our main dishes and no one seemed bothered by that. We didn’t need free dessert. We needed our food in a timely manner. It took 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Will never go back.
I liked the food, the service and the place. Didn't like having to pay extra for the vegetables and that nothing came with the entree
The food and the service was great but I felt something should come with the main meal, vegetable or salad.
Had a great time! Both the service and food were excellent.
over salted entrees (chicken francese/ veal sorrentino), a bolognese that is at best just a simple red 'meat sauce' but not a true bolognese & stale 'toasted' Italian bread that can chip your teeth served by a clearly unseasoned, but friendly, staff should not be charging higher than average prices - as high if not higher than a place like Lusardi's. they aim to please - no question - but ease off on the salt a bit and lower the prices a bit and you'll be in great shape but for now 'buyer beware' - this place is just not ready for prime time yet - I'm sympathetic for anyone that runs restaurants these days - a thankless stressful ambition, but for now, my taste buds and wallet are offended
Excellent food and service. Nice sized portions. Everyone was very nice.
Terrific atmosphere with terrific food and service makes for a great combination. Couldn’t have had a better experience.
My first thought is fabulous... each course was delicious - the fried zucchini is the best we ever had, chopped salad was a great mixture, pasta was perfectly cooked "aldente" and the shrimps oreganata and chicken Francese were delicious as well. We were stuffed and have doggie bags but had to have dessert so we had the homemade cannoli and cheesecake and both were a win. We did order more than we needed but were interested in trying different dishes and don't mind leftovers. The staff is friendly and efficient and Dario the owner is a true hospitalian, so genuinely friendly and welcoming you'd want to come back just for him but the food makes you want to return very soon. Route One has the whole package, a definite must try and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Most family style restaurants will offer salad besides bread- if we were offered a salad or vegetable salad I would've given 5 stars as the food was excellent but the value was not good- if u buy alacarte you get alot of food but no vegetables or side dishes- otherwise the Sunday pasta is the best I've had the service is excellent and the owner is awesome
Went to Route One as I used to go with family to La Riserva all the time. Found the staff confused about the family style service that they now offer that they did not before. A Half portion is enough for one person. Get your pockets prepared- everything is a la carte now. So if you order veal or chicken, the half portion you get is two pieces of meat. No sides. No pasta, no rice or potatoes, no salad. You have to pay for everything extra. I ordered veal limone, was way too salty. My party and I split a family style serving of cauliflower, paying extra. It was good cauliflower, but it was a lot for two. I ordered pineapple sorbet for dessert. While it was lovely in that it was presented in a pineapple boat, it was so frozen solid that I could not cut it with a knife. I had to send it back for them to slice it into pieces. And what was most disappointing is that it tasted like sugar water and pineapple artificial flavoring. It did not have any fresh pineapple or juice in it at all. Other parties came in and were served and left before my party of two was complete, servers were nice but not very fast. In my opinion we should have been in and out much faster. Should not take two hours to eat dinner for two people. I will say that it was clear the servers and management were very concerned about our experience, but actions speak louder than words.
The staff needs more grooming. The noise level is, well, I could have turned around and joined in any number of conversations. I know they just opened this restaurant within the past few weeks, but they own another on Long Island and I heard that one is excellent. The food saves them. It is excellent. Pasta is perfect, calamari fresh.
