the staff were very accommodating to our requests.
beautiful food !
A place beyond imagination from the food, wine and walks
Interesting though expensive food experience. Some dishes were brilliant, others not so but we had too many sides and required more frank guidance from the very helpful and friendly staff. Pleasant location with the sculpture park and gallery the main motivation for a visit. This was exceptional. Parking and accessibility was excellent on a Friday lunch time.
Top notch venison, and excellent kumara dish left me wanting exactly that same meal next time! Wonderful meal, perfect filling portion size, great atmosphere with the wood fire and candles along with the art, plus friendly and helpful staff with speedy service. Everyone in the group thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and I'm told the fish was exceptional. I will very definitely be back on a regular basis, I'm already looking forward to the next meal at Rothko. Well worth the drive.
Excellent experience. Loved it all. Food was interesting. Service exceptional and ambience great. Clean and welcoming.
Menu keeps changing for the worse
To delicate food. Trying to be to clever
A brilliant lunch . A taste delight . Would Definately come again.
We had a lovely lunch delicious food good selection of wine with attentive and helpful staff. Great for a special occasion -
Enjoyed the opportunity to dine out of the city in a quiet rural setting. The selection of vegetable dishes were innovative & delicious.
The food was fantastic along with the sculpture gardens and the galleries. Only suggestion I would make would be to discount the entry fee's to the gardens and galleries if you've eaten at the restaurant.
The only adverse comment each time we have come which would be about 4 visits to Resturant, the meals have been very slow to be served.
As always we loved the cuisine and ambience - our third Occassion to bring visitors to Omaha. Thanks to Anthony for our brief intro to the art collection. We will try to incorporate for our various international/ kiwi/Aussie visitors for a real treat!! Amazing!! Well done on a “world class” facility. Deb and David
first time at local restaurant - a great addition to the area
We had lunch here after visiting the wonderful Sculptureum. We had a brilliant time here - I had the dayboat fish which was fresh and well-cooked, the rest of the group had the meat dishes which they raved about and our sharing sides were excellent too. Service was attentive and prompt, very friendly staff. It was pouring with rain outside but we felt warm and cosy inside. Really glad we made the trip out here, will return if we're headed that way!
Flawless as usual - food, service and atmosphere! Staff are attentive but not intrusive, perfect balance!
We had a lovely Sunday lunch after exploring Sculptureum.
Great service, and really yummy food. Would definitely come again.
Venue was beautiful and elegant creating a very pleasant environment to dine and enjoy the ambience of the room. Food was really good although would have liked a bit more in terms of sides. When we were seated there was no discription of the menu in terms what was meant by fish meat and vegetables. Service felt unwelcoming to the point we weren't offered dessert or coffee and felt like staff were hovering to the point were they took my partners wine glass away as soon as she had finished drinking. Overall we spent an hour and a half ther with only one meal feeling disappointed about what was our 5 year anniversary celebration. Would not recommend to anyone I know
On a chilly Winters night the ambience with the fire was lovely. The service attentive & knowledgeable & food delicious. Will be back. Thank you.
Food and wine were excellent although the waiter brought me the wrong entree! I ate it anyway and it was superb. Waiter needs to be more natural and less speaking to a script, "you're welcome!' a hundred times.
(Ambience is spelt with an 'e')
such a varied menu and caters well as I am vegetarian; unusual mixes of food with mouth-watering results
Staff are always great here and food never disappoints. Day boat fish amazing. Good winelist.
Fantastic girls day out to enjoy the sculptures, lunch was an unexpected bonus. The food, the staff and the wine all wonderful. Would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return.
Great environment after a few hours of exploring the surrounds. Food was spectacular.
Beautiful lunch. Loved the vegetable dishes to accompany the rabbit .
We loved our day at the Sculptureum and the lunch at Rothko was honestly the best food I've had n a very long time :)
Lovely lunch with service that went above and beyond. Highly recommend.
Food was superb, but ambiance and quality of ambiance is let down by the extensive use of plastic drop down curtains, which not only drop the standard, but were cold, inspite of the electric heaters. Even overall construction does not match the quality of the food, and it is such a shame that all the amazing artwork is hidden from view. You have no idea that you are in the presence of such greatness. Surely it would be possible to have some of the amazing art spotlit to best advantage. Currently, it is just another restaurant ... with great food. But if some of the art was easily viewed, it could be a very special place.
And, on a more minor note, the Wine Waiter/Maitre d' could upgrade his baggy pants and runners to a more professional appearance .... and my wife's pet peeve .... please don't ask her "are 'You Guys' ready to order" !
We will return .... hopefully often.
Always a great dining experience here - food is excellent, staff are great.
The only disappointment was seeing the Pork Belly had been removed from the revamped menu.
We took two mums for Mother's day dinner.
Waiting staff was friendly but when we entered the restaurant, it took a while for a staff to acknowledge us. We found the food too salty but the wines were lovely.
I thought it would be nice if the indoor exhibition was open for all dining guests.
There were no lights outside the car parking area to the restaurant so when we were leaving to get to the car, we needed to use our phone torches. It was especially dangerous as it was raining and both mothers were in their 80s. Some motion sensor lights would be ideal.
Another amazing meal in a fantastic setting. Well done the team at Rothko - you never fail to deliver. With a creative menu and brilliant wine list we will keep coming back!
Was a great meal and very special time many thanks to the staff front of house and fabulous chefs
We had lunch at Rothko after visiting the Sculptureum gardens and galleries. A wonderful food experience to top off a wonderful art experience.
I had gone to Sculptureum to celebrate my husband's birthday. It is definitely worth the drive as we live in Howick. The food, ambience and dining experience at Rothko was a great ending to a very special occasion. The staff were very attentive. We have already recommended friends to make a trip to this amazing place to appreciate the sculptures and artwork from around the world.
food was well presented, service was good. portions are small. For the mains I thought they could serve the meal in a larger plate rather than a green 3/4 sized plate. guess the small portion does not look so small in a smaller plate.
We had a lovely night. First time patrons. The atmosphere was relaxed but still lively and chatty and the service was friendly but not intrusive. We loved the food and the presentation was well executed. I was impressed by the staff particularly.
Excellent food! The service was great - as was the atmosphere. A real gem! Thank you.
We had a wonderful lunch - the meals were fantastic and loved their wine. We highly recommend!
A very enjoyable experience at Rothko, the food and service was excellent - we both had the swordfish tartare which had a good chilli hit. It was a wet, rainy day so the roaring fire was inviting. My only disappointment was the complimentary wine which came with the overall park visit. I struggled through it where my friend elected to purchase other wine which she assured me was excellent.
Amazing attentive staff without being intrusive. Great food and great venue
It was very upsetting experience. When we arrived, we had to wait to be noticed by waitress. Despite me booking this place as a parent’s anniversary lunch for 4 people, we were seated in a corner(kitchen window).
My expectation was to be seated next to the fire place. I also notice that those tables next to fire place are for 4 people, instead couples were seated at those tables.
When we were seated at the corner (kitchen window), I have been advised that heater will be on soon, after 10 minutes, heater was still off. I approached waitress and asked about heater, answer was we cannot switch it on and no reasonable explanation why. Waitress advised us, all we can do for you is to change seats and place us even further from the fire place.
Portion of the food is tiny, three of us left this place hungry, only one person was lucky with the dish and happy.
You should state on menu that portions more like entry size.
Selection of dishes is also limited.
Wine and fireplace is beautiful.
