Rosetta Sydney
Rosetta Sydney is one of Australia’s most elegant and sophisticated Italian restaurants, which combines impressive interiors with professional and authentic service, and a seasonally driven menu of Neil Perry’s favourite regional recipes from his extensive travels through Italy.
Rosetta is located in the stunning Harry Seidler designed Grosvenor Place at the northern end of the CBD. The interior design and styling plays on the restaurant’s graceful contours, with a curved wall of floor-to-roof windows filling the restaurant with natural light and enhancing an Amalfi Coast inspired palette of emerald green and sapphire blue.
The sweeping terrace and bar overlook the city with views to the harbour. An all day bar menu is brimful of antipasti and pizzettes, alongside playful cocktails and an array of beautiful Italian wines.

The FOOD is Sublime, DELICIOUS!! The Decor is the MOST BEAUTIFUL of all dining rooms in Australia!!
A friend recommended Rosetta and we weren’t disappointed! We were a bit worried by the reviews that said the service was poor, but our server was very friendly and attentive. The food was also delicious! Recommend.
Rosetta calls itself a "Trattoria". First of all, every trattoria in Italy has a tablecloth not wooden or plastic tables. Rosetta charges "fine dining" prices for an establishment where most men turn up in shorts for dinner and where the cooking has very little resemblance to Italian cooking. A Restaurant which would not last a week in Italy. My husband ordered Fettuccini alla Bolognese. The sugo bore no resemblance to a true Bolognese sauce neither in texture , colour nor cooking. In fact, the much too wide fettuccini were floating in a pale reddish liquid sauce with no trace of extra virgin olive, long slow cooking or parmigiano reggiano. I, on the other hand, had the tagliolini with crab and chili. In Italy the dish would have had a liberal taste of peperoncino and sufficient salt. mine had neither. Then came the Parmigiana di Melanzane with huge thick slices of eggplant layered with thick unmelted slices of Fiore di Latte (not Buffalo mozzarella) covered with an insipid tomato sauce and practically no parmesan or basil. I have lived in Italy for 50 years and know Italian cooking. In addition, I know how to cook it.
I did not like the arrival experience or the up sell by the staff. The restaurant did not recognize my OpenTable reservation and offered poor seating as though we hadn't reserved. In the end, the food was delicious.
Great food nice enthusiastic traditional Italian service...high-end but not pretentious.
Tries a little too hard. Not a bad meal, some nice creative inspiration but not running back.
Loved dinner and the service. Must have the meat balls and the calamari. Ask for a table away from the main door.
Booked through Open Tabke and had confirmation email, but Rosetta did not have my booking. I had to wait at the bar for my table. Food was delicious but service is a bit lacking, to the point the waitress was almost unfriendly. She did not want to be there!
The staffs are too pushy and didn’t allow time and space for us to enjoy our meal. We were reminded a couple of time we have to vacate our table in 2 hours. We went there Wednesday night which it’s not that busy. we just couldn’t relaxed and catch up among ourselves as the staff keep come up to us every few minutes. This restaurant is more suitable for corporate lunch in restricted time.
We’ve been to the one in Melbourne casino, the deco and services were top notch. That’s why we wanted to check out this one in Sydney. There’s no comparison to our experience in Melbourne.
I often eat at these premises but felt somewhat let down by the bland pasta entrée I ate on this occasion however staff were most obliging offering to change the dish.
My other issue is that i booked threough opentable but on the monday night in question i learnt that the restaurant was full of patrons that had booked at 50% off the food bill throiugh Dimmi and i felt somewhat cheated and left out as i asked to pay full price..
This is a lovely restaurant with great service. The wait staff and wine steward were fantastic. I felt the menu was over priced across the board, for what you receive. I had the Zuppe di Pesce and the shrimp was over cooked and dry, which seemed odd because the calamari in the dish was not. The sourdough bread was fantastic. The burrata starter was great, perfectly ripened tomatoes and burrata that melted in your mouth.
Visiting from USA
Superb menu to equal any leading US and EU Restaurants
Outstanding and comprehensive wine list
Visiting Sydney from NY. Our group sampled many dishes. The pastas, fish and beef were all quite good. The service was very good and the wait staff very friendly. If you want Italian food in Sydney, I suggest you try Rosetta. You will not be disappointed.
Given a poor table though we were one of the first to have dinner that evening.
Gnocchi was pasty.
Just visited Cape Town, a city currently going through their worst drought in history, not once did we pay for water in any restaurant. Unfortunately at Rosetta they charge $9.50 per bottle of chilled TAP water which they don’t make obvious as to the cost of it when they ask you as most places give you still water for free. Shambolic and shocked when I saw this was on the receipt during payment.
Tasty food, although you're paying for the setting and the 4,000 waiters a bit too. Interestingly once we'd paid none of them wanted to know us - there's a bit of a hurry on to get you out of there. Still, good experience, and I'd definitely go back - it's a good, spacious relaxed atmosphere to talk and eat some yummy foods.
Fantastic service, excellent food!!
We had a wonderful celebration lunch. Attentive service. Excellent food.
Went for dinner before the theatre so the restaurant was quiet and empty. We were served straight away. The food was good except one of the pasta dishes was a bit ordinary. Wines by the glass were good. We had a good time and will go back
I though the restaurant was pretty good. I had been before for a business lunch and it was excellent. On a ‘date’ night it was a bit business like. The meals were large, I like that but my partner was blown away
Casual yet elegant quality dining with a modern Italian style to the food. Cocktails also very good.
Great food and all of the servers were wonderful. My only suggests is that there were less handoffs from the service staff.
Exellent real Italian food with an exellent service ! Highly recommend
