Guess you guys did not fix your app during the 8weeks of shelter and completely changed dynamics.
Do that first.
Service was non-existent. Had to ask 2 separate times to get chips. Waited for 20 minutes to get our 2 drinks for both round of drinks. I ordered a skirt steak MEDIUM WELL and it came RAW. Seriously. Not rare, but extra rare bordering on raw. How far off can it be? They cooked another steak correctly but by the time it came my son had already finished his dinner.
They didn’t offer any discount, dessert, comp one round of drinks, nothing. I have eaten there many times before and always enjoyed the restaurant but this past Friday was pretty bad!
The food can be hit or miss depending on what you order. The fried chicken was overly burnt and dry. While the tacos were ok. The price is too pricey for what it is. The service does take a while. I feel like they want you buy drinks in order to distract you for how long it takes for food to come out. I would not come back.
Where do I begin? This was beyond disappointing. Let's start with the service. Our waiter was almost incompetent & could not get our 1st drink order right for only 5 women. When the rest of our group arrived(7 more), he couldn't get their drink order correct & then it took another 40 minutes to get one drink that was missing to be served. Granted a group of 12 for a pre-game dinner is a large group, but the restaurant failed to have enough servers to handle the table. As soon as the 7 got their 1st drink, my husband immediately placed an order for "another round" for the entire table. That order literally came another 30-40 minutes later when we were asking for the check. Now let's talk food. It was beyond SALTY and I love love salt. The table side guacamole, a signature dish was inedible it was SO salty. The guacamole man gets zero stars and I was so embarrassed after raving about how good it was going to be. Even the basic chips on the table tasted like a salt lick. We all ordered street tacos as we only had an hour & half and were worried we wouldn't get our food. They were average at best & they overcompensated with spice and you really couldn't tell what protein you were eating. We would never go back here and highly suggest you pick another place at LA Live. The NYC flagship would be so embarrassed for this establishment to carry their same name.
This is the second time that I have lunch there within two weeks and the service was atrocious. We had to get up to find a waiter to place the order and get the check. I am not going back.
The food was (eventuality) very good & the server was great! Unfortunately, 2 out of 4 brunches had issues, but it was corrected. Great value. The guacamole’s made at your table, fresh & deeeelicious. Brunch was terrific.
The service was very slow. The food was okay. It took 45 minutes to get a few appetizers
glacier like service - one of our entrees came 10 minutes after the two of us had our food.
The service was not that good. The food took almost an hour to get to us and we only ordered tacos.
I hope this review will be helpful to the management of Rosa Mexicano – Los Angeles. I made a reservation hours in advance through OpenTable. I requested as quiet a table as possible since I was dining alone. When I arrived, I was shown a table right up front and next to a very noisy table of eight. I requested a quieter table and was told that this was the only table available. I pointed out a booth that was towards the back left side that was vacant. The hostess told me that she was unable to seat me there because it was in need of being bussed. I said I would wait for it to be cleared. Then another hostess named Aleli came up and said she couldn’t seat me there. I asked her if it was because I was just one person and she said yes. I said “if I had one other person with me, I could sit there?” and she said “yes. It’s not my policy, it’s the management’s.” I asked to see the manager. I waited and then the first hostess came back and showed me to a booth in the back of the restaurant. I suppose the manager said to do this. The food was delicious and Giovanni the waiter was nice. Unfortunately, if I had not been persistent, the result would have been very different. What a shame. Please do not discriminate against solo diners, especially near a convention hotel where there may be solo travelers. Let them sit at tables or booths for two. Accommodate their requests for quieter tables. What this team did not know — and it shouldn’t have mattered — is that I was scouting out a restaurant for a group of 16 for later in the week. Because of the quality of the food, I would have recommended this restaurant, but I will not do so now because of the initial reception. I hope this review helps this team review their policies and welcome all customers.
Nice food but noisy andbvery skow service and also somewhat inattentive. Cutlery could have been a little cleaner. We had to replace the knives.
Margaritas were very good.
The food is more authentic Mexican food which we are not use to eating, therefore we did not enjoy the food. But the service was good
The food was really bad and cold, the drinks were ok and the service was slow. Very disappointed
Restaurant was not ready to seat us for over 20 minutes, and the wait staff was unable to follow through on most of our requests. There was an issue with a drink order as well as an exceedingly long wait time for food to come to the table only moderately hot after an extended period before our order was actually taken. We were offered offered mutliple rounds of drinks that were not appreciated as so much as nobody wanted to get buzzed or drunk.
It would take alot for me to come back here. Even with a reservation we had to wait 30 mins to be seated. Once we placed our order, it was brought about 30-40 mins after. Waiter only came by once to ask how we were doing, and had to find someone to provide us with utensils, after the food came. We still tipped 15%, but looking back the blame should be shared with the staff and restaurant.
I made reservations for 7:00 pm on Saturday, February 15th, 2020 but when I arrived I ended up waiting 30 minutes. This sort of makes the whole reservation pointless. After about 30 minutes, I saw a group get up from a table and since none of the staff at the door was being proactive I asked if I could sit at that table and they said it was fine. We then waited for another 10 minutes for a waiter to finally clean up the table and then take our order. Once we received our appetizers, after a really long wait, we needed plates to share the appetizers but the waiter took such a long time to come back that at that point the food had gotten cold. It was the same for the rest of the evening. The waiter only came back to check up on us a few times and by the end, I just wanted to leave and never return. The food here is good but not so good that I will return based on the terrible service.
We arrived 10 minutes before our 7 o'clock reservation and was told to wait until our designated time. Then two other couples said that their reservation was at 6pm and 6:30pm and they were still waiting. The hostess said no walk ins only reservations. Then a gentleman came to the front and immediately sat the two couples down. Then there were other people with resevations waiting in the bar area, who also were waiting more than 45 minutes. Long story short we sat down at 7:30pm. The restaurant was full. The bar and food service was slow. We had to ask for everything - napkins, silverware, etc. The server tried his best but we felt rushed.
The floor was dirty, tables not cleaned up. Very disappointing.
The food was not great. The pollo en mole was fried half chicken with extra thick mole sauce on the plate. Not appetizing.
Needless to say we will not return here nor will we recommend it to your friends.
Arrived 15 minutes early for a 6;45pm reservation. People who had 6pm reservations were still waiting for tables. The hosts were rude, sarcastic, and entirely unable to manage the restaurant. We were never seated and ultimately had a nice dinner at the Ritz, but were made late for our event as a result of the horrific management and overbooking at Ross Mexicana.
They had overbooked. We left after waiting 45 mins
Restaurant was overbooked and very slow service. Even with reservations we had to eat at the bar.
I was there on Saturday, February 15, the weekend of Valentines Day, before a concert at Staples Center. We made reservations for 5 at 6:30pm. The restaurant clearly oversold and had a long waitlist even for people with reservations. We were finally sat around 7pm, we had to wait 15 min for anyone to attend to us. To make a very long story short we were never brought napkins and silverware; we never got plates with our appetizers; our food orders took forever to come out and were poorly thrown together; and one of the margaritas was served in a dirty glass with someone else’s lipstick on it! We asked to speak to the manger and we got the assistant manager (were told the manager was too busy). Anyway, after complaining they gave us a significant discount on the final bill. I give credit to the servers who looked stressed and overworked and doing their best, but the food was mediocre at best. Nonetheless, with so many great Mexican restaurants in LA, and better priced than Rosa Mexicano, I’m never coming back here.
I had the worst experience ever. I book 2 month in advance. I got there one hour early by the time of my reservation arrived guess what? they didn't have a table ready since the restaurant was over book. After 20 minutes they give a table, waitress was so nice and very helpful. An hour later still no food coming to the table and we order as soon as we can. I am very disappointed. I spent 3 hours in total
The overall experience was beyond bad. Not necessarily the server's fault but there was obviously ZERO management oversight as to what was going on in the kitchen. Our food took about 75 minutes and even then, one person in our party didn't get their food. The tableside guacamole was the only thing fast and correct and for $31, I sure hope so. We have frequented this restaurant before concerts at the Microsoft Theater...and let's just say, it was so bad that we won't be going back here. Plenty of other restaurants in LA Live to pick from that are probably run better.
We waited for our reserved seats for ten minutes. When got seated we were not given any menus. We walked to the hostess for the menus. Then our waiter who ignoring us for quite sometime serving other table came to us after 15 minutes. At this point we decided we will just get our drinks and entree together. We got the food which was good. We did not enjoy that much because of n
The ambiance was great, our waiter on the other hand only came to our table three times once to seat us, take order and then to bring check. We dine there for almost two hours. We gave up trying to look for him to seat more water or chips. The portion size are small but tasteful. The guacamole is Fire! They should bottle it up and sale it or at least the way the gentlemen made it at table side, try the spicy guacamole.
Good Valentine's Meal!
Really liked the Cocktails & Snapper Meal
The host in the entrence the fat girl is a mean

I told her the other host told me to wait a little bit until she get my table
But the FAT host canceled she put out outside
Later my wife speak with other host and put us in
Is very expensive places with low hospitality
NO GOOD need very professional personal to work in rosa Mexicano
Being of Mexican descent myself, I was livid to find this Restaurant in the Heart of Downtown Los Angeles. Gathering up my closest friends, we decided to make reservations here and have a great night. Or so we thought. We arrived on time and were greeted by a kind cheerful hostess. She walked us to our table and all was great up until the waiter arrived. The guy seemed irritated and bothered, possibly he could of been having a bad day, okay we all have some of those but it's not the customers fault. Anyways, I ordered a Cocojito drink, my friend ordered a Paloma Negra, and other friend ordered a House Margarita. I can vouch for my drink and the Paloma Negra that those are the worse drinks that I have ever tried. I chose that drink due to it containing Kalani Rum, a delicious rum that unfortunately is not sold here in the US. It was incredibly dissatisfied with how watered down it was mixed, almost had a flat taste to it. And the Paloma Negra did not in no way taste like a Paloma. As we push to make it a good experience we scan through the menu and become repelled by the minimal basic food dishes being offered. Nothing was appealing so we decided to skip on the food part. And in a night out on the town, who skips dinner? Well we sure did, because right as we finished drinking those glasses of water with garnish we were given our check and to our surprise we were also charged for a bowl of guacamole and chips that we never ordered nor received. Now prior to booking the reservation to this Restaurant I did read a few (more negative than positive) reviews and they all seemed to critic the same issues. But I thought I'd be the judge of that and continue with my reservation. I wish I would of listened to the reviews and enjoyed my night elsewhere. But you live and you learn.
Took waiter 38min to bring our drinks! Food order was incorrect and took 1.2hrs to get.
Service wasn't great. Tried to make us order more food and automatically charged us for top shelf alcohol without being asked. Food was just ok. Nothing special. Flavors were fine, a tad salty.
Crowded on night of Laker's game...of course.
Very good food. Portions are a little on the light side but quality is high.
We arrived 5 min before our reservation to an almost empty restaurant - the greeter wanted to sit us right at the kitchen and washroom doors. She relented and moved us. I always say we are getting the Open Table table always the worst in the restaurant. Food was okay and pricey, restaurant needs an update. We where there about 4yrs ago thought we would try it again- same results will not return. Many other options at Staples Center.
Tasty food but a bit in the pricey side for the quantity but overall I do recommend you visit and enjoy some fusion Mexican food
Our Reservations were at 8:30pm We arrived at 8:15 because it was very crowded due to Kobe's memorials and we were a party of 12. We weren't seated until 9pm. Our Table had no linens. The woman's bathroom was messy 1 out 4 stalls was not working, one was back up with paper and the other two working stalls had no paper. only 1 soap dispenser for both sinks with water and used paper towels everywhere. it took them at least 20 min to bring us drinks and guacamole and another 20 after to bring us the chips and take our order. We waiting for our food for over an hour to come out. and when it did the street tacos were cold and the tortillas were hard. serving sizes were smaller than I remember from previous times. They ran out of the kids lemonades and sangria. Overall it was not worth the time or price we paid or spent there. Will not be going back there again.
Out for an event was saving my appetite all day to eat there. Order the nachos figured they would be enough to share food took while to get they were just nachos. Well they weren't enough to share with my wife but we made it work. We left there still hungry and out of time too order anything else and we were out of time cause our concert was starting. Only thing the drinks were outstanding.
We use to love this place but, the last 2 times not so much and tonight the worse. First, my dude hated our table but, we couldn't get another one. 2nd the guacamole dude was rude as hell. He wasn't personable and when I called him, he ignored me. Our server was slow. I had a birthday coupon and he wanted my phone to show the manager. Uh no. We ordered spinach enchiladas and when our food came, they then tell us the cook doesn't have time to make them. I ordered the empanadas and it was 3 mini ones. The service and food is gone downhill. Its better to just wait and go to the Yardhouse.
Bathrooms were dirty. I know they were busy but we had a reservation and sat in the back side room. They had to pull patio chairs in to accommodate us.
Went to lunch on January 31st and while the service was exemplary but the mood and food was not up to their usual standard. Perhaps it was due to the untimely death of Kobe and the somber mood at LA Live Plaza. Will be back soon to see if they are back to normal.
This is my third visit and once again, the food was delish as well as the great customer service.
My friends and I had the Dine LA lunch special, the chicken enchiladas were so yummy and also the guac and chips.
Meal was never delivered after 90 minute wait
