We specialize in fresh fish, delivered daily by local suppliers and we guarantee to always have the finest quality available. Our seafood cuisine is characterized by the simple quality of the catch. We place our orders during the night, directly from the port where the fish is delivered to ensure we always get the freshest product available.
Very nice restaurant, food and service were good, great selection of wines, however, I have paid less in other cities with higher rents and taxes than Dublin.
That said, I would go back.
Fabulous experience. Great wine, great food (especially the caviar). Really good waiter. Really nice ambiance. Would definitely go again.
Excellent service - choose fresh fish over pasta.
A really great evening! The food was delicious, especially the sea bass carpaccio, truffle ravioli and fresh line fish. A slight pity was that our first choice aperitifs and rose wine were not available.
But this was more than made up for by the great service and the fabulous huge red teddy bears that sit dotted around the restaurant. What a unique touch - made even more special when one joined our table!
It’s a lovely little restaurant in the centre of Dublin . It has a great atmosphere and is very comfortable. The menu is varied and interesting any food I have had always was of a very high standard they have an extensive wine list with prices for every one . The emphasis here is on seafood and Italian food . It’s good value and ideally suited for business or pleasure with a respectful but friendly casual service . I would recommend this restaurant.
Excellent service. Comfortable seating and excellent food
I can't recommend this place highly enough. I tend to be critical of restaurants in general and often leave disappointed in something. I honestly can't find anything that could have been better. The welcome and service were first class. The atmosphere was just right: busy, energetic, not too loud and not too quiet. The food was absolutely delicious. Would go back there every time I return to Dublin.
My wife & I went there on a Monday evening to celebrate her birthday. Had to ask to be moved from our allocated table of first floor because of noise/draught from a mobile dehumidifier - moved to table at top of stairs. Starters: Her Prawns with spinach was good, my Scallops in the shell were small & dry with too much breadcrumbs. Main course: Her Pasta with Sea Bass was good, My pasta with Lobster was tasty but seriously lacking in lobster. Dessert: shared frozen fruit sorbet OK. Wine: Sicilian Red (€45), one of the cheapest on extensive list, was good. Service: efficient but cold. Bill: €135. Overall: Poor value for pretty ordinary fare.
First visit and most enjoyable. Red prawn and scallop starters gorgeous. Pasta with lobster and pasta with clams lovely. Shared sea bream which was delicious. Cosy place, very hospitable. Looking forward to returning!
Was told by the host that despite our reservation, we would have to wait at least a half hour to be seated, as two other tables with reservations had already been waiting a half hour. When we said we would try our luck elsewhere, the host smirked and said we would not find a table anywhere else. We walked across the street and were seated immediately - had a lovely evening. Front of house needs improvement!
It was my first visit to Rosa Madre and I sure hope so it won't be the last. Everything about this restaurant was amazing: the food, the drinks, atmosphere and staff. Staff was friendly and polite, atmosphere was like visiting little Italy in Dublin. Owners are really passionate about their business, and it show in the quality of food and service. I could not suggest this restaurant any more, if you are in town and want quality evening to spend, spend it in Rosa Madre.
Restaurant was very nice- staff courteous, friendly and helpful. It was we thought expensive for a lunch time meal. I would suggest a lunch special and maybe it would get more footfall and then as a result create more of a buzz in restaurant. Overall the food was very tasty and we enjoyed our lunch
Booked from Australia. We travel extensively, 90 countries. We love food and cooking. Rosa madre was absolutely in our top 10 world wide. Thanks to the staff especially the lady who was delightful and certainly an asset to the restaurant.
Awesome and stunning food, the freshness and skills of the chefs are evident. Our waiters were really friendly and helpful and cannot fault a thing. Would highly recommend.
Catch of the day in the oven with no taste, very disappointing 5 olives for souce
Ravioli heavy in cream
Don't go to this tourist trap
Very nice place with good food and top service😊 We were so tied and could’t eat that much so the place took one of the courses from the bill, very nice done
I loved everything about our meal great friendly professional service
Dinner was outstanding we had the halibut and it was so fresh and delicious. The appetizers were well prepared with a nice presentation. The service was excellent. We are from NYC so we are accustomed to excellent-restaurants if we lived in Dublin this would be on our list of go to restaurants
Really authentic Italian. Highly recommend the Lobster pasta.
Best restaurant in Dublin for service, quality of food and overall great experience
Went to Rosa Madre with my wife for our 10th wedding anniversary. It was delicious. Very authentic. Quirky interior that hasn't been 'designed' in any way, just like you might find in Italy. Attentive, honest friendly staff and super tasty food and wine. We really enjoyed it.
Il cibo è veramente buono , vera cucina italiana ! Vasta scelta di ottimo vini, ma il location è piuttosto bruttino , trascurato non in linea con il prezzo della cena . camerieri gentili..
We had a great meal. The space is tight so it’s a bit cramped feeling but the food was excellent so it didn’t matter.
Great food and wine.
9-year owner was very service-focused
Wait staff was very nice too
My second time there and more to come, the food was absolutely fantastic, love the open kitchen concept, food got to us right away, service was great. Can't wait to go back!
Really lovely restaurant with great sea food.
Really good seafood. One of the best meals I've had in Dublin for some time.
The food, service and overall experience were excellent. The only negative was being seated upstairs next to a temporary dehumidifier set up with giant tubes sticking out the window creating noise from the machine and bringing in the noise of temple bar through the open window. We moved 1 table away but the machine was still a distraction and took away from the experience. can only hope it is not in place the next time we visit.
Will absolutely return and recommend for special occasions. Would highly recommend the
Tonnarelli all’ Astice pasta and the tiramisu for dessert! Both were delicious and the tiramisu was enough to share.
A wonderful spot for a beautiful Italian seafood dinner. You're greeted with fresh fish and live lobster when you enter, and the engaging and cozy atmosphere sucks you in. Fresh oysters were some of the sweetest I've tasted. Scallops in the shell served beautifully. Spaghettini and clams, tagliatelle funghi were both spectacular. The wine list was extensive, very Italian oriented, with a nod towards Spain and California. Our last dinner in Dublin, and we will certainly be back!
Very nice meal, the wine list was a bit expensive and time between starters and main course etc. could have been a bit faster. Otherwise not a bad spot in the city centre.
Wonderful Italian food and hospitality. The freshest of fish and simple pasta dishes made very special indeed.
Rosa Madre is one of Dublin's top Italian restaurants having a large emphasis on fish and seafood. We had sea bass cooked in salt crust and dover sole meuniere, both of which were excellent and served with very well cooked vegetables. We started with burrata and pata negra and mellanzane parmigiana both of which were also excellent. There is a very comprehensive wine list and a great selection of wines by the glass. The dining space is very relaxing and quiet ..... so great for having good conversation. The staff in Rosa Madre are very professional and attentive. It is not a cheap place in which to dine but the prices are in line with the food quality, the standard of cooking, the lovely venue and the excellent staff.
This restaurant is just okay. They have these creepy huge red teddy bears at the tables. The menus are sticky and the restaurant seems dated. The pasta dishes were just average, nothing special.
Why internet prices different of evening prices? But food and service good
Lovely antipasti, scallops, mussels. Would definitely recommend.
Just delicious. A Wonderfully fresh local seafood prepared with a minimum of fuss, great wine, I recommend the large tasting platter and try all the raw prawns especially the ruby-red ones and Dublin Bay. Friendly waiter and cute decor with teddy bears everywhere. (Note: We accidentally went to Terra Madre instead so be sure to get the right directions! ...and do not go to Terra Madre they were incredibly rude and mean!)
Waitress was quite rude & cranky and the staff loitered around our table talking loudly in Italian to eachother. Had a headache leaving. Food was not great for the price, pasta was too undercooked and overall poor experience and won’t be returning/ recommending.
Fantastic food, wine and service. We will definitely be back!
Firstly, Thank you to the staff who were super accommodating to our table of 8 with late comers and ordering starters to share only the start of our atypical requests. The food was exceptional and a truly authentic feel to the whole experience. This restaurant is a gem for any occasion. My affogato was a little disappointing. Should be one scoop of ice cream and a shot of espresso.... right!? but maybe thats a personal thing. It certainly wont prevent my anxiously anticipated return.
