Room Service at the Goodwin Hotel
This immersive dining production — the first progressive dinner experience of its kind…Your evening at The Goodwin will transport you back to the 1800’s as we tell the story of J.P. Take a journey with us as we celebrate the mystery and extravagance of J.P. Morgan through atmosphere, food, and drink. We have thoughtfully transformed rooms in the hotel to be private dining rooms. Room service at the Goodwin was fantastic! Such a creative and exciting idea for a night out during Covid! The food and drinks were fantastic and I loved the escape room theme
We had an absolute blast at this event. All COVID precautions taken and they created an experience you won’t forget! Make sure you search your room for clues and learn everything you can during the event! Highly recommend for people of all ages! You will enjoy it and won’t regret spending the night out of your house!
Room Service event was so much fun! Food and ambiance was a great date night in this pandemic works we are living in.
A unique and memorable experience for sure. Wonderful food, drinks, and ambiance. Everything felt special and deliberate. Would definitely do again!
Clues were confusing, wasn’t sure if / what we were “solving”, the fun facts in the safe should been in chronological order.
Very unique immersive dining experience which combines elements of dinner theater and escape room games with a lovely tasting menu catered by local celebrity chef Tyler Anderson. This is a very covid-friendly dining experience with essentially “no contact” yet the experience is cleverly designed to ensure that the dinner courses are paced appropriately and guests are provided with a luxurious experience from start to finish (and beyond). The portions for the meal and cocktail service were generous. For the mains we selected the short rib Wellington (excellent) and the chicken gallantine (very good). The private room was cleverly redesigned to accommodate the experience.
Went to Room Service at the Goodwin to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary and it was absolutely the right choice. To be able to eat a unbelievable meal in our own private dinning room was worth it. Great to see places coming together and thinking of new creative ways to combat the pandemic
It was a unique dining experience in a historic setting. It was well planned and a lot of fun
Not the experience we were expecting for a mystery dinner.
The Yes or No Morgan dining experience was delightful and good fun!
Nice dining experience. Fun to solve the clues during the dining.
We went to the escape room experience with friends to celebrate my birthday. It was a really fun and delicious evening. Unfortunately they didn’t clean out the drawers and the previous guests had left all the clues in a drawer. So we had the clues out of order but we still had a great time and hope they do another one. The food was delicious also
AWESOME experience very unique. I was relaxed and felt very educated and that walnut wine yummmm
A very unique way to dine during this pandemic. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the ambiance of having our own room to dine in.
This was so much fun. Good food. Completely COVID-friendly service. And tons of fun solving the mystery between courses. Highly recommended.
Everything was fantastic! Those only comment we would make is that there should be some side dishes with dinner. The fish was fantastic, but not too filling. The Wellington could have used a nice side dish as well. All the good was great though and the event was awesome.
This new restaurant has food that is A-mazing! It was quiet due to the lack of patrons from the virus scare. BUT - the duck legs, mushroom pasta, pizzette, and swordfish - were a gastronomic treat! The flavors of the food really came out in each dish. It is worth the trip when we can all go out to eat again...
Original menu, new takes on traditional items, great service
Interesting menu, although I had the spaghetti and meatballs and it was delicious. Service was excellent. Drinks were good. I would definitely go back to this restaurant again and highly recommend that others try it.
Thank you Lydia! Tim General Manager
The food was excellent. The bread had a wonderful crust. Our waiter was helpful, courteous and prompt. We will be returnees to Terreno.
Thank you Jack! We’ll look forward to seeing again soon! Tim General Manager
GRETA RESTAURANT AND AMAZING SERVICE, REALLY ENJOYED OUR ANNIVERSARY DINNER
We had a wonderful time, waitstaff attentive, but not overbearing. Definitely would go again, food was inventive and flavorful, cocktails interesting and fun!
Loved Porron & Pina. Wanted to love Terrano but not there yet. Had the Kale caesar which was fairly good with fried chic peas, a favorite. A little too cheesy for my taste. Husband had duck wings that were tasty but swimming in sweet sauce. Not super hungry so ordered a pizzette. Very disappointed in that it was a think piece of focaccia type bread with melted cheese. Not at all what I expected but maybe I should have asked for more details before ordering. Ended up not eating that and ordered the swordfish piccata which was quite good. Husband had pasta which was very tasty & well prepared. Perhaps we ordered the wrong things. Might try again but service also needs to step it up. Cocktails came halfway through the 1st course. Still nice ambiance and a good option prior to a show at Theaterworks around the corner.
Decided to try this new Tyler Anderson redo and was not disappointing. Food was great, but he service needs some time to mature
Nested in the belly of the Goodwin hotel. a resurrected monument of Hartford Glorious days. This small restaurant features a creative chef that is not afraid to mix fusion kitchen with old school creations. The service is top notch, attentive, quick and none obtrusive, the noise level is low and the ambiance is superb!
as a past chef and a current physician, I look for excellence and consistency. This rare gem has it all. Expect to be wowed!
We are thrilled you enjoyed your experience here! Thank you! Tim General Manager
Pasta tasted homemade, and the CT Restaurant week menu choices were a great value. Service is attentive, and the new menu has a lot of tasty options! We loved the prior tapas menu too, but the change is good.
Thank you Carol! Hope to see you again soon! Tim General Manager
We had a great experience! Our waiter, Mike was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was outstanding! We enjoyed some delicious pasta dishes and got the smaller size so we could sample and share. We will absolutely be back.
Thank you for the kind words Kate! Tim General Manager
The food was amazing. The service was wonderful. I would definitely go again.
Thank you Jenelle! Tim General Manager
Good was really good. Service was ok.
Too noisy; service does not match the quality of the food; expensive and should provide a better overall dining experience
Going to a restaurant in Downtown Hartford is usually an experience. Terreno was not the experience I had hoped for. From the beginning it took our server a while to come to our table but there was only a table of two in the restaurant in addition to my table. After our first course came out I was a little saddened because the gnocchi was a bit hard, I had to think that they may have made a batch in the afternoon and used it for the night dining because it just didn't taste as fresh as it could have been. The sauce however was great. Hoping that my next course would make up for the hard gnocchi I was optimistic about my hanger steak and polenta . I was disappointed again when I received my steak and it was well done after asking for it medium and there was no pink but my friend who ordered it medium rare had pink in the middle but no where else on the steak. Moving on to the polenta that I just knew would make up for how the meal was going south and I was unfortunately let down again with the polenta being soupy and unseasoned the only thickening agent was the parmesan cheese on top, the only thing you could taste was the salt there was nothing else to it. Finally we get to dessert and I am still being positive because I want to like this place SO bad the citrus cake was completely dry I couldn't believe it I had to laugh no way was there not one thing I liked of this entire experience but I do have to say the wine pairing for the courses were great. Terreno just opened and maybe it will take time to get things together so I will try again in a few months but for my first time hoping for the best I encountered the worst.
As we are still in our first weeks of our new restaurant, this is absolutely not the type of meal we want our guests to have here. It sounds as though we missed the mark completely and I do apologize. We are working diligently every day to make our restaurant the best it can possibly be, and it is feedback from our guests that will get us there. So thank you for your feedback. I do hope you try as again very soon! Tim General Manager
Fantastic. Great vegetarian options.
What a great new addition to the Hartford restaurant scene. The ambience was so warm and the food was delicious. I tried 2 different pasta dishes, one filled with butternut squash and one loaded with lots of different kinds of mushrooms. Both were delicious. Can’t wait to return.
Thank you Elise! Tim General Manager
The food was average. Nothing special. The are better restaurants in and around Hartford for Italian food.
Would love to hear about your experience. Thank you! Tim General Manager
We had a sneak peek at some of Chef Anderson’s menu on February 6 at a wine dinner, and immediately wanted to go and try the full menu!
Can’t argue with the flavor / taste of the food, it’s absolutely delicious, but the value isn’t quite there in terms of price vs. portion.
Regretted getting the oysters b/c of this, and should have ordered the full size gnocchi instead of the smaller size for the same reason.
Shrimp scampi missed the mark greatly in terms of price and taste, will never order again.
What will keep bringing us back is the smoked duck legs, kale salad, truffle flatbread, and the gnocchi. OMG so good!
Sat at the bar before our reservation and ended up staying there since she was so personable. Ambiance was terrific, not too loud, seating was comfortable and the food was top notch. One of my favorite dining experiences in Hartford.
Thank you for the kind words Justin! Cheers, Tim General Manager
If you do nothing else try the pizzette. The crust is melt in your mouth wonderfulness and topped perfectly.
The shrimp scampi is a huge misfire.
Overall this is a welcome addition to boring downtown Hartford and no doubt will work out the wrinkles in the weeks to come.
Thank you for the feedback Jim! We hope to see you again soon! Cheers, Tim General Manager
Usually enjoyed previous chef Tyler-based restaurants so thought we’d try Terreno. We ordered shrimp scampi (pasta was quite good but shrimp were unremarkable - small, completely translucent and tasteless) and braised beef rigatoni (pasta was under, way underdone, and I prefer my pasta al dente - beef was decent but mostly missing) along with a full charcuterie which was the only dinner item that was in fact good. Chocolate mousse cake was terrible. It was clearly several days old and dry. Hard to understand how chocolate mousse cake could be tasteless. The bigger issue is the complete lack of service. Our waiter was a clueless young man that wandered around aimlessly. We waited and waited for anything and everything. I simply don’t understand how he could remain employed as waitstaff. We were disappointed to say the least. Wish Tyler the best but “wow!” He’s got his work cutout for him at Terreno.
Thank you for the feedback Sam. As with every business, we all have our off days/nights. This night was certainly one for us and I apologize you and your guests suffered because of it. I do hope you will give us another chance in the future and let us show you what we can really do here at Terreno. Thank you again. This only makes us better. Cheers, Tim General Manager
Our service and food was fantastic the waiter was a little bit rushy but he was still very pleasant and accommodating
After many fine meals at the Spanish themed Porron, it’s evolution into the Cal-Italian themed Terreno couldn’t have been better. Great appetizers, homemade pasta dishes and flavorful entrees made it a great dining experience. Try it!
Thank you Sal! Great seeing you as always! Cheers, Tim General Manager
