Rocks on Rosalind
Took my wife out to lunch and was impressed with the service, and then even more impressed with the food. I enjoyed the playlist and found the atmosphere to be great. The only improvement that could have been made was the air conditioners weren't turned on, and it was a touch warm next to the Windows. However, this is definitely a place we want to come back to.

Food was okay but not as good as last time we were here. Wait staff were attentive but did not seem to want to be there. Did not appreciate rubbish bin being walked through restaurant during service.

Very disappointed in the quality of the sirloin steak at $38 .. was not tender and with no dedicated steak knife ... found difficult to cut. In my opinion was a little dry without an accompanying jus or sauce
Meals were ridiculously small and certainly didn’t match the price. Dessert was tasteless and bland. Unfortunately we left hungry after spending $138.00. The setting and service was good but value for money wasn’t.
We had a lovely evening. The staff were attentive without being overbearing. The meals came out quickly and the food was delicious. The servings were generous. We had trouble deciding on what we wanted to eat as all the options were very appealing. We will definitely be returning.
Disappointed in the service when one of our dishes was completely forgotten! After asking for this 3 times, we gave up. They apologised and offered a reduction in our bill. Very disappointed however.
Great place for a quiet birthday dinner.

We waited 30 minutes for a glass of water. The selected wine was incorrect and the main course starters did not include any greens. The final bill was incorrect.
The Enhlish family on the next table were served the entrees and new waitress ( just started and not mentored by management) was many mistakes which the manager blamed on another function which resulted on the main course being demolished. I do not blame them for leaving without their main course. The young wiatress was in tears. ONE STAR.
We have eaten here on other occasions and couldn’t fault it. On this occasion it was very different. The steak and ribs were tough to the point I had marks on my hands from the serrated knife that I was using trying to cut the meat. My husband had the same problem with his rack of lamb. We will probably never eat there again. On a positive note though our waitress was brilliant.
Unfortunately my husband was really looking forward to the steak which he has had before but this time it did not fall off his knife. Last time the steak was that tender you didn't need a knife. This time a steak knife would have helped but was not provided. Having said all this, my daughter and I had lovely meals and my daughter is still raving about the pork belly.
Thank you for a lovely night out and for making our daughters 13th birthday memorable. We will be returning.
The building is beautiful and worth a visit to see the heritage. The staff were inexperienced, we were greeted with “are you right?” And when we asked about how many courses the chefs selection was we were told it was “as much food as we can give you for $75”. We ended up being overcharged for the $75 per head meal because the dessert we were told was included in the price was not. The savoury dishes were all interesting and flavoursome and very enjoyable. The desserts were very hit and miss and unfortunately mostly miss. We had the dessert platter or selection of several things. The elderflower panacotta has zero taste of elderflower. It was a pleasant ‘plain’ pannacotta none the less. The banana and baileys parfait ice cream sandwich thing did not taste at all like banana or baileys. We had to look up what we were supposed to be tasting. The blueberry dome was supposed to have some kind of citrus marmalade and sable biscuit we could not find, but the blueberry flavour was nice. The other desserts were nice but not outstanding. It was a disappointing finish to the meal.
We had the street food sharing menu. First four dishes were delicious. However, food did come out very quickly. More time between each one would have been better. All dishes were pretty good except the Papaya salad was terrible. Tasteless.
The green curry at the end was served as a Maryland which is difficult to divide between 3. Would suggest 3 small thighs would be easier for diners to share.
Service was ok, although several times different waiters asked the same thing eg. Dessert menu.
Could have been more attentive in providing drinks when glasses were empty.
Also the toilets really need an upgrade. They were smelly and could easily seen done on the very cheap with poor workmanship.
Also think it is a bit confused in terms of is it a high end restaurant or more an everyday dining experience. The building and menu say special occasion but the cutlery in the bucked and worn cafe style tables say casual dining.
we had a hankering for peking duck whilst in Bendigo and we found RoR online. We were NOT disappointed! Great food, great atmosphere and super attentive staff. Would go again for sure.

Excellent service & sensational food. I have dined here before when visiting Bendigo, so booked for my mother's birthday when I visited from Queensland, knowing it would be great. Did not let me down. 😍👍
Very disappointing service and food. Value for money was very very poor. This place has really gone downhill, we won’t be back. A pub meal would have been better.
The food at Rocks was outstanding - it was an experience to remember in a unique setting. Worth a trip to Bendigo just for this
We really enjoyed our lunch at Rocks, the staff were most attentive and the food was delicious.
We came to see Wayne Jury and were somewhat surprised at the lack of patronage. The food was interesting, squid with like a pickled vegetable, which was nice and the pork belly was great as an entree, but then the pork belly was the bed for the Barramundi, it didn't work and there was nothing to cut between it... The Porterhouse was well cooked, but half of it was a lump of grizzle. Overall we had a nice night and music was fabulous, not too loud.
Amazing Food and the staff were fabulous!!! We brought an overseas guest and she loved it. Would Definitely recommend.
A really lovely setting in the old bank vault which was nice and private too. The meal was delicious, timely and the amount was sufficient for a party of 6... great cocktails to start what was a wonderful and enjoyable evening, thanks to all

Food was fantastic, great flavours and beautifully presented, but the service was appalling, struggled to get drinks, waitress didn’t know the menu and that is the reason we won’t be returning again.

Only my second time at Rocks and it was a Sunday night so not as busy. We ordered pretty much straight away, the food came out super quick and couldn’t fault anything. Will definitely be going back soon! Loved it
Food was lovely, service was very good. Thursday afternoon (1:00pm) is a great time to book if you want a quieter experience in the main dinning area.
Very disappointed in this restaurant. We came for the dinner and show and while the band was good, the service was all over the place and the food was a big let down.
Food - we opted for the tasting plate about $75 each with matching wines about $35 each. I would not order any of the items that i tasted. My dining partner enjoyed the scallop, however I found mine undercooked. It started the theme, where it felt like a high school home economics team could have done a better job. The roast peppers for instance hadn't been skinned properly. I'm not talking about the odd bit of skin, it was difficult to find the skinned parts. Most of the food tasted like it had come out of a tin, packet or jar. We started with an oyster, the dressing was bland. The scallop was under cooked. I could not have the celeriac as due to intolerance, so mine came out without any fanfare - disappointing for a restaurant that claims to be high end and charges accordingly. The Peking pancakes - the pancakes were disgusting. They were rubbery and bland. The bresola with mirn and lychee - was like they had gone to the deli for the meat and then dropped hoi sin sauce and lychees on it - no miso flavour. The roasted peppers i touched on above was just plain and boring. The squid was like a deconstructed salt and pepper - the crumbs on top of a wet squid dish - they were soggy and the squid was again like the scallop not opaque in parts ie. undercooked. We were also served a pork belly dish with a side of pork fat. The pork belly while nice was not too my liking - the fat layers were in tact none of the melt down which adds to the deliciousness and indulgence of eating pork belly. The pork fat shot - a liquid meal was disgusting. No other words for it. We couldn't even try to eat / drink it.
Drinks - the matched half serve wines were not matched. We had to ask for the first wine, the second wine was dumped with no explanation for what it was and the last wine was the house red! WTF

Warm welcome, menu suggestions as we only wanted light meals. Beautiful restaurant with ambience allowing for conversation. Value for money, just a good feeling!! Will go again and recommend to others
Good food but overpriced for the atmosphere/service. Service was super slow, ordered drinks/food 45mins after arrivals. Then entrees were served before we even got a glass of water!
Service lacked as it got busier, we had a booking at 8 at the Capitol, although we were of the understanding that our time was from 6 till 8 anyway, so we felt it did,nt need to be flagged.
Expected better. We had a Friday night (830pm), the restaurant was almost entirely empty when we arrived however we were seated at a table right beside another couple who were extremely loud. It was distracting and offputting considering we were sitting in an almost empty, quiet restaurant, I feel that the wait staff should probably have used better judgement in this situation. Mocktails were great. Steaks were well cooked but unfortunately quite gristley. The waiter suggested adding a side of chips to our order, which we did, however they tasted of little more than oil, salt and charcoal as they were extremely overcooked. Overall I expected better for the price (just shy of $100 for 2 drinks, 2 mains and 1 side of chips) and I will likely not return to this restaurant.
The restaurant was cold and they couldn’t improve the heating. The food was served two quickly, almost no gap between the first and second course. And then the bill immediately after we finished eating. The food was okay but the gnocchi was undercooked and the artichoke dish was misrepresented.
The food was amazing & the "Feed me" option is a must!

Good range of offerings in the menu. Most were well presented. However the porterhouse steak had a large piece of gristle in it. The wine list was ample. But after refilling our glasses a couple of times our waiter disappeared and I had to go and get the bottle we had ordered and pour our final glasses myself. Perhaps he was trying to ensure that we left under 0.05; but the nominated driver had barely imbibed.
