We had the 7 course special that was offered for $95 a head.
The last dish being lamb was the only dish worth eating.
The ‘prawn’ was terrible
Certainly would not consider ever trying that style dining again which is disappointing as I have had the tasting towers on the main menu which is delicious and value for money.
First 4 dishes came out reasonably quick then had to wait 40 minutes for a shared steak!? Overall dishes were warm to cool, not much flavor! For $150+ for 2 people it was very disappointing
absolutely perfect, fantastic service couldn't be faulted, well presented and delicious food. Place to go to for a perfect meal and night.
Exceptional dining experience at one of my favourite restaurants in Australia (and I do cover quite a bit of ground on my travels).
I always make a gap in my travels to find my way to this gem in the goldfields.
Quality local produce, superb wine list and service that makes me smile every time.
A special occasion for us which was noted on our arrival and certainly appreciated. We selected various courses from the extensive menu and were not disappointed...the food came out in a order that was not rushed however timely.
The courses that we selected were outstanding and will also compliment the table service.
We were that impressed that we will make a booking in the new year for six. Well done R.O.R.

Great atmosphere. Food will suit a foodie who likes to branch out of the norm. Didn’t feel like the $65 tasting banquet was value for money. Was disappointing to be told that there was no steak available when ordering at 7pm - there hadn’t been time to run out as yet, surely. We were there for a special occasion celebration but for the price across the 4 of us, I would have preferred to be able to walk away with a feeling of that being the best food ever eaten but, sadly, it just really wasn’t.
Food was good one dish the king pawn. Don’t know what the did but it was awful. Otherwise rest of the gistation 7 course was very good
We came across this restaurant purely by chance. What an absolute delight to find a restaurant of this calibre in Bendigo. The level of service could not be faulted, the food was amazing and the wine list was excellent. We are normally quite fussy but we were very happy with our night out at Rocks on Rosalind.
Wonderful experience. We were in quite a rush and staff were very accomodating but I felt guilty for not being able to take our time to do the meals justice. Best lamb I’ve ever tasted!
Have been before and enjoyed it, however our experience Saturday night was much worse. We ordered 6 simple dishes between us, the first came after 30 minutes, the fifth after 2 hours at which point we pulled the pin. The food was quite good but the servings sizes small. The staff were nice when we saw them, which was very rarely. It was clear we were not the only disappointed customers that evening.
If our experience was typical of the new direction they are taking, they won't be trading this time next year.
An underwhelming experience overall -apart from the wines which were reasonable.
The table service was poor. Maybe trainee or otherwise new to the waiting game.
The seafood shared dishes were disappointing. The barramundi dish was an exception.
We were there at lunchtime.Maybe the dinner service is better.
I don't want to be negative but I have worked in Hospitality and also dined here plenty of times before so I think feedback is important rather than just not coming back. We dined Wednesday for a special occasion and we were not very happy overall. We were happy to share and be guided by our waitress on how many meals to order but we didn't have enough for three people on many of the dishes that came out. The vegie dishes came out first and the tomato ricotta dish is not something that can be eaten by itself in all of our opinion. The lamb was something else we were looking forward to but it was fatty and not cooked enough so it was therefore chewy and once again very small portion for three people. The bugs should come with three tails as well, we would be happy to pay whatever as long as there enough. We had scallops, ricotta/tomatoe, Ronde Zuccini, Moreton bay bugs, Duck pancakes, Lamb shoulder and the aztec chocolate and thought about getting a burger on the way home. As well as a few beers and a bottle of red and the drinks and room were great. We have been before and dined in and outide, had the tasting plates , ordered off the menu and had the lunch special and thought they were all great options and nights/lunches so this is why we picked it for a night out. Sorry to be so negative but we had friends with a similar experience last week and think you would rather know.
There was not enough food served for the 4 people on the table. The website states 6 courses and a glass of wine for $35 however the wine was additional cost not included in the $35 price. The service was very professional however they had to make multiple trips back to the table empty handed as they had run out of a lot of drinks on the menu. Would not recommend this lunch special if you are hungry and with a group of people.
New menu was lovely. Wouldn't do the tastings as a lot of the cuisine was not to my taste. Our order was catered for well and we had a sensational meal, great service and as always, great ambience in the downstairs dining area.
Nice atmosphere, well presented interesting meals, well informed helpful staff...will go again for sure!!
When we dined, we were told that Rocks on Rosalind has launched a new menu, different to the one listed on OpenTable.
This was a disappointment already, as we had been looking forward to trying out the duck.
We were however told that we now have the option to use their family style, or shared style dining. With a plate for all of us to try and share food.
This is a great concept, however we ordered three main plates as well as three appetisers and were sorry disappointed.
Between three of us, even with the shared dining, we barely ate enough. In fact, we went across the park to grab dinner again later.
To illustrate, the pork belly came in three small cubes. So there was one bite for each of us.
The picture attached is of the lamb neck. Which costs $38.
In summary, there are better restaurants to go to in Bendigo.
Including Masons of Bendigo, which has mastered the shared dining experience.
Had the tasting banquet for four people followed by dessert. Whilst the food quality was fine, the portion size was way too small. One course ( the beef tartare) was the size of a 50 cent piece- to be shared by 4 people! The initial entree offerings were fine, but from that point on more substantial portions were required. Even after dessert, left unsatisfied. Took my partner, daughter and her partner. Spent over $300 and left hungry.
Do yourself a favour and try ROR’s new menu. BRILLIANT. I took my brother and sister who were visiting from interstate as I wanted to showcase Bendigo. I know I can rely on ROR to do the heavy lifting for me and didn’t she put on a show....never disappoints.
Thank you Cal for describing the shiny new menu and making the experience effortless so our family enjoy a great catch up. The new menu delivers thought provoking and interesting dishes. The grilled plums are already calling me back so ROR, it’s not the last you’ll see of me.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Meal.
Every course was delicious came out promptly and beautifully presented.
Callum the waiter was cheerful and engaging. The female staff member also was helpful in advice on meals.
We could not have had a better dining experience.
We will definitely go again.
Started well. Lovely ambiance. Drinks(excellent range), and food menu arrived swiftly and orders taken. Bubbles then entree within 20mins and great. . Then the wheels fell off. Waited almost 1.1/2 hrs for main, which was undercooked (lamb) and an entree serve of pork belly (cold). My husband was offered another glass of wine, but no other service to our table. We got up, paid and left, without any other interaction with staff. Unfortunately won’t be hurrying back.
Very friendly service, waiters knew their stuff, great food and wine was delicious!
Beautiful food, character from old bank building, service great.
Good food and a great location. The Rocks offers a range of quality produce and has a modern twist with old favourites. Service is attentive and the old bank is a great building to feel comfortable and relaxed as you dine.
Staff members were all very polite, talkative, answered all questions and found out answers if they didnt know themselves.
Warm inviting well presented.
Good selection of foods and beverages.
Hands down one of the nicest restaurants I have ever had the privilege of dining in. Made the night for me absolutely memorable and kept everything moving smoothly. The wait time for food was exceptionally small and the food itself was second to none. The service made me feel like I was appreciated for coming to eat in their establishment. I cannot put into words how absolutely phenomenal my dining experience was and I certainly hope to be returning again sometime soon.
This was the best meal we ate in Bendigo and the restaurant deserves a much higher rating. The lamb was to die for and the presentation was world class. Bravo!
Loved our Father's Day lunch. Food was amazing as always.
We love this place. We always get 'The Vault' room as we have kids. Service is really friendly and food is out of this world, soooo tasty (Maybe A Little Bit Bigger sizes with tasting plates) other than that excellent!
We had a very quiet private space to celebrate a 70th birthday.
We had the lunch special 6 courses. 4 out of the 6 courses were nice, not fantastic and other 2 courses were quite bland. I am glad we tried it but would not be rushing back.
Thanks for lunch. The service and wine list were great. The food was disappointing. I don’t think two chops constitute a rack of lamb. Two of the four meals were cold. We did tell you but the offer to warm them up was not adequate. Also it is important that the waiter tells you the dish comes with. The duck and racks of lamb needed side dishes.
Brilliant as always. Could not fault the food, the service, the overall sense f occasion
We enjoyed our lunch and had the lunch buffet with paired wines. A nice way to get a try a range over the menu. Paired wines were really lovely too. We intend to go back and leave room for dessert next time!
Went with colleagues for a work related dinner whilst attending a conference in Bendigo. We all had the tasting menu with matched wines and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food was different, but well presented and very tasty.
Our waiter was friendly and explained each course and engaged in some friendly banter.
Would highly recommend.
I am very impressed
Very high quality restaurant
Very good food, very good service
Definitely coming back and bring all friends
Best of the best!!!
Great food, friendly staff and an amazing dining experience overall. Highly recommend
Lunch tastings was great value and taste! Had a wonderful get together with friends
Very disappointed with our dinner the food was average entree was pork belly absolutely flavourless and cold and the crackle was soft and moist. The mains were just as average
at one point you ran out of glasses so we all had to drink beer out of the bottle. We were waiting ages for people to re supply our beverages.
Definitely not going to return any time soon which is so disappointing.
We had a wonderful lunch, service was excellent smand happy to cater for dietary requirements. We will be back soon.
Outstanding on all counts - will definitely be going back!!
