Rocks on Rosalind Ratings and Reviews
We went to Rocks on Rosalind for a birthday celebration and ordered the tasting banquet.
The food was nice and it was great to try some different dishes but it came out so fast we had less than 10 minutes between the three courses which is ridiculous!
(I also found a hair in the rice!)
The staff were friendly but our waitress commented on how we made 'short work' of the courses but I'm not sure what she expected? Were we meant to leave food on the plates? I don't like comments like that.
It is a beautiful building and the decor is nice.
While the ambience was very good and the food equally good the waiting staff spoiled the evening for us. They constantly interrupted our conversation, gave us no privacy and kept approaching us for our meal choices even though we had asked told them to give us more time and that we were not ready. We felt rushed though and did not enjoy the experience. Very disappointing.
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary there. We ordered the $55 buffet, but did not include the $35 pp wine option. The food was nice and interesting. I may go back, but it is not the type of restaurant which would become our 'local'. The staff were pleasant and engaging.Overall we had an enjoyable evening.
We received excellent service for our special occasion. The food was top quality, we were seated in a wonderfully secluded area, and our servers Sue and Kez were faultless - we would not have even known it was Kez's first night. Thank you for a perfect experience.
It was so close to being a really great night out. I had my son and daughter-in-law from out of town with me and it would have been nice to talk, but.... having asked to be seated down stairs and told yes, we were seated up stairs next to a table of 14 very rowdy diners. Unfortunately the noise drowned out what could have been an exceptional dining experience.
Seafood over cooked.
Pasta undercooked and tasted doughy.
Service was slow and took ages to remove plates from the table.
Had to keep asking for our Wine as they took the bottle away.
Table for 2 was way too close to another table for two. Couldn’t even have a private conversation and heard everything the couple beside us were talking about. Very uncomfortable.
We have been there 3 times previously and definitely not up to our expectations as experienced in the past.
This dinner was our anniversary, so why ask why we picked this restaurant if you’re not recognising the reason.
Very disappointed actually and the night cost us $220.
Great location, easy access for the disabled. Very kind, caring staff. Interesting decore with atmosphere but not overbearing. The star attraction is the food, the variety and excellent presentation. We had the Tasting Menu and were completely blown away with the high quality and variety. Would certainly come again. The staff were very knowledgeable and made our lunch most enjoyable. Look forward to trying their steaks particularly with the addition of lobster.
I am a local in Bendigo and have visited this venue before for live music and beer tasting. Recently my wife and I dined here for our anniversary. The food was incredible, the service was fast and the atmosphere was peaceful. Warning, the desserts here are deadly, you can't have just one!! Would recommend to anyone for a special occasion, a great fine dining experience.
Was after a steak, had only one of the three options in stock. Requested elderflower fizz, were out of stock of this also, as well as requested beer. Dark poorly lit environment. Average service, waited ++ for drinks and to have meal order taken. Wanted to have a special night out for our first wedding anniversary and were sorely mistaken. Would not recommend .
Booked Rocks on Rosalind after seeing it recommended on several blogs about visiting Bendigo. It did not disappoint! We had the lunch menu which was 6 items including scallops, squid, pork belly and lamb terrine. Amazing value at $35/pp. We added the matched wines for another $15/pp and enjoyed an aperitif and two wines. The red wine from Mandurang Valley was a particular favourite - a collaboration between Rocks and the winery!
All finished off with a gooey, decadent chocolate tart.
Fantastic service. Highly recommended!
