Rocks on Rosalind Ratings and Reviews
Booked Rocks on Rosalind after seeing it recommended on several blogs about visiting Bendigo. It did not disappoint! We had the lunch menu which was 6 items including scallops, squid, pork belly and lamb terrine. Amazing value at $35/pp. We added the matched wines for another $15/pp and enjoyed an aperitif and two wines. The red wine from Mandurang Valley was a particular favourite - a collaboration between Rocks and the winery!
All finished off with a gooey, decadent chocolate tart.
Fantastic service. Highly recommended!
A bit dark so glad to be seated near a window. Tables scratched in the middle, menus dirty. Sound track extremely annoying, chimes that kept going on and on. Staff pleasant, meal good although one or two dishes were barely warm, and wine by the glass expensive. Banquet menu good value. Staff asked to round out bill to $95 to include a tip, but instead put the tip at $95. Luckily noticed later and had it rectified by phone call, a silly mistake that shouldn't happen.
I didn't enjoy the food at all and for the price it was very disappointing and I wouldn't recommend it to friends or family, my sons meal had 2 prawns that were extremely over cooked, their was. I sauce and the salad wasn't appropriate at all for a kids meal!
Tried Rocks when it first opened, didn't do much for us so we hadn't been back. Tonight was a revelation. Absolutely beautiful food and the most wonderful waiter who lit up the room. Unfortunately we didn't receive a side we had ordered which took a little the shine off what would likely have been a perfect dinner.
An excellent selection of cuisine and complementary wine. The small private room with a table for three had good ambience and the wait staff were perceptive in timing of serving of the various dishes and wine. Having not caught up for many years this was a very enjoyable long lunch in all aspects and we will return.
Great meal. Although we were a little disappointed with all of the peas and corn that came out with the banquet. Not as classy as we had hoped. Also member of our dining table requested no nuts and a couple of our dishes came with nuts. Luckily he isn't highly allergic or it could have been a very bad experience.
Fantastic wait staff, beautiful food and great atmosphere.
4 th visit, 2 dishes very salty on the tasting plate selection first up. Overpriced food $55 phead tasting plate, drinks and then the desserts were so measly. Cob loaf bread not cut right through then wrestle with it to cut off a slice. Wait staff run off their feet, people look stressed, long wait to order. Sorry needs some work to get it back to where it was! For what it is overpriced, nice decor.
I've been wanting to try Rocks on Rosalind for some time now and finally got around to it last night. Everything was absolutely fantastic and I look forward to returning to try a few more dishes. Excellent service, amazing food and fantastic location. We are so lucky in Bendigo to have Rocks on Rosalind!
We had the $55 9 course meal which was both value for money - delicious AND filling!
The stand outs for me were the pork belly & the proscuito with haloumi but others loved the scallops & also the pulled lamb shoulder. Our waitperson Rhiannon was attentive and made great suggestions and certainly wasn't intrusive but there when we needed a top up of bubbles or water and Troy also made some great suggestions for cocktails :)
We loved this place. The food, wine & service were all very good and it was excellent value for money. We were in a booth downstairs which very comfortably accommodated 6 of us. We are a noisy group and the cave kept us from disturbing others and from others disturbing us. It had a lovely atmosphere and was very comfortable.
The degustation menu with wine was more than adequate and was easily shared by our group. A lovely mix of foods & wine - just wish I had room for dessert.
Food was great service was generally excellent but on one occasion I had to grab the attention of staff for a drink refill. 2 things that could be better
1. The tables (laminate/manufactured material) we ate off was probably more suited to out door dining or a table cloth would have be more.
2. The manager/owner, who happens to have a loud voice, was providing instructions to staff- this went on for a bit of time and detracted from the ambience.
This doesn't match the quality of food & price
