The Market Menu in the restaurant are is fantastic value for money with 3 courses for £35. Dishes are selected from the main menu. My guest had the ham terrine to start, I had asparagus with a poached egg, we followed with the Barnsley Chop and Belly pork all were delicious and large portions too! We didn't have any room for the 3rd course although the selection was mouthwatering too. I'd thoroughly recommend Roast, our table upstairs had a fantastic view of St Paul's Cathedral. This is not the first time I've dined here and will certainly not be the last.
Having eaten here before but not for around 5 years it was a pleasure to experience Roast once again. Nothing had changed and it was still as good as I'd remembered. It's definitely one if my favourite places to eat in London!
Have been to roast many a times fr Breakfast and whilst it was enjoyable, it just seemed to be missing something.... I enjoyed the hot sandwich I had last week off their takeaway counter more than the sit down breakfast
Went for Sunday lunch with a friend over from USA. He enjoyed the experience very much
Delicious meal with prompt and attentive service, plus a decorated plate and candle arrived to celebrate birthday.
Always a nice location for a family Sunday lunch. Food is good. Something for everyone. Excellent service
Fantastic food - chicken roast was delicious. The restaurant is very bright and open which makes it an enjoyable dining experience. Service was good. Great experience overall
Nice food, lovely location
I have visited ROAST once before and had a wonderful experience. So decided to book again - this time it was a work meal with colleagues from the US. They absolutely loved the place. They thought the food was excellent (they had the traditional roast). Its certainly on their list of places to return to when they are back in the UK.
Lovely restaurant and wonderful service. My friend was celebrating her 50th birthday and they provided a small bottle of bubbly and chocolates. Well done.
Great food as always. Friends who had not visited the restaurant really enjoyed their evening, not least given the great rapport with our waiter who responded to our dry sense of humour with gusto.
Even though we had a reservation had to wait over 30 minutes. Slow service and paying extra for veg just doesn’t cut it for a Sunday roast set menu. Really disappointed.
Booked for a birthday lunch... met expectations of good food and pleased to report that service was exceptional!
Will definitely visit Roast again, perhaps to try out the Afternoon Tea!
For me always a pleasurable meal , very much a Roast fan
Roast was a very enjoyable evening. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and the whole experience was very nice. I went with my parents who were down visiting me and they really enjoyed it as the views were nice and the setting was lovely.
Very glad I booked a table for us.
Treating my daughter on their wedding anniversary
We had an excellent meal and my colleague was very impressed with the room. It got a bit loud for me later in the evening and being hearing impaired this affected conversation for me. Not a moan, a simple reality. Overall well worth my second, and not last, visit. It always seems to impress my colleagues and the service etc is excellent.
Roast serves the best Sunday Roast we have tried in London, the building is beautiful and has a lot of big windows that brings light to the place creating a very uplifting happy atmosphere. Wine list is very good too and good wines are not overpriced.
Great place for taste of British produce in delightful recipes.
Excellent Sunday roast
Been three times now. Always an outstanding experience. One of my favourite spots :)
My first visit to Roast for several years.
The restaurant was busy (Thursday lunch) but service was excellent.
My starter was delicious but main course fish was too salty. My companion’s food was excellent though.
Excellent service from all staff on the day. Polite, friendly and professional. Table service was attentive and prompt
Lovely chicken , wine and service - defiantly would recommend this restaurant.
It is too expensive. We tried to find some value but as we were already sat at the table we chose to stay but we ended up paying £175 a head. Never again
the food was absolutly delicous. the waiters were very attentive especially with my allergy. hhighly recommend
We had a waiter that had to leave because his shift was over. He did not inform our table and evidently no one at the restaurant he still HAD a table. No one came to wait on us (dinner was served) until after our dinner was over and we need plates cleared. After we did talk to some, there was a sweet girl that took care of us during dessert. There needs to be a plan in place for when shifts are over and customers are still there.
Great atmosphere and helpful friendly staff. Service was a bit slow to start with. We contributed to that with being slow to choose, but our waitress was fantastic with our 3-generation table of 8. Food is good. Wine list is good too, if a bit on the expensive side.
We requested a table that was not acted upon and the second personal on the desk was accommodating and we got a table away from screaming babies. However the food was not what i expected and the sides and vegetables were either over cooked and under cooked. Our waiter was not great and despite the 12.5% being added to your bill I would have not tipped so high. Spelt wine on me, meal was served later than other tables. Possibly too many customers and not enough staff on the day!
Found it very noisy and couldn’t chat in a relaxed Sunday lunch way. Also service was too quick - not enough time given between courses.
Disappointing experience...lack lustre service.... Like eating in a school canteen. Not good value for the price
Fantastic restaurant and outstanding food however they offer a three course Sunday lunch deal and then only give you the table for an hour and a half which is not enough time for three courses - we were really rushed by the restaurant staff, we had to order our desserts when we ordered our first and main courses and our bill was put on the table before our coffee arrived. We offered to move to the lounge to drink our coffee as it became very apparent they wanted our table.
Lovely ambience.... fab food and staff very friendly ...... my only criticism is that you need to vacate your table after 1.5 hours - which seems rushed especially given that it’s not a cheap meal
Our waiter was helpful, friendly and whilst professional we had a good laugh with him.
Food very good.
My son had the burger and left half of it as the meat wasn’t nice. My mother had the roast beef and complained about The Yorkshire pudding being no better than Aunt Bessie. The roast potatoes did not come across as being very fresh either. I had the beef wellington. For a meal that cost £150 without alcohol it needs to be special. In truth it was no better than gastro pub food. A shame as it’s a lovely room in a great location.
Excellent venue for a business lunch. Superb food and first-class service.
Lovely venue and great food. Breakfast and coffee are great and courteous service.
Overpriced for the quality of food.
Had the smoked halibut to start, but minimal halibut for the most expensive starter at £16.00.
Then had the rib eye, which at £42 is more than other steak restaurant’s, and mine was slightly over cooked, and the chips were over done too.
They also got my guest’s main course wrong too !
Lovely location, but well overpriced i’m Afraid.
Perfectly situated above Borough Market Roast is a class establishment. Excellent food and an interesting wine list made for a super lunch after a exhaustive exploration of the market.
We’d go again!
I booked Roast for Fathers Day, there were just three adults. It was really busy in the restaurant but the staff were still still very attentive.
The food was excellent and value for money, the only reason for the slightly lower score is that the wine is pricey.
