Overall the food was a little disappointing.
We had eaten here on many occasions.
Barramundi was over cooked... very mushy but skin was crispy though. French fries were soggy.
Bring back the buffet!!! Like the good old days!
Waiting staff was a bit overboard.... in your face while you’re eating and talking. Not attentive if you needed a top up of your wine which I had to mentioned to them.
we stayed Friday to Sunday a Winter-staycation, we had Lunch on Friday two Breakfasts and Saturday Dinner.
we highly recommend your Staff for their services, it is a great pleasure to attend your River Side restaurant, we will meet again.

A great place to dine before a show with a perfect location near both Adelaide Convention center and Festival theatre in walking distance. Staff are great, very attentive yet discrete.
Good was stunning and delicious.
Remember to give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the experience before a show as you won't be the only ones taking advantage of the location.

We celebrated our daughter’s 4th birthday. Service was good and we are happy with the lunch menu. We ordered a cake and it was delicious. Only thing was we were charged twice for the cake which was refunded upon notifying. Great place for any special occasions.

Riverside Restaurant was visited a couple of times whilst I was on a business trip recently - slightly noisy due to external building works that were being undertaken, but otherwise quite a pleasant environment to sit and enjoy a business conversation of just conduct some private business whilst enjoying a terrific breakfast or lunch.

12 friends with my wife and myself enjoyed lunch high tea on Sunday 9th June, the food and service was excellent.
The only complaint we had was the pumpkin soup, we said to the waiter that the soup had a fish taste and was there seafood in the soup. The waiter said he would check with the kitchen, he advised us that the chef said they used a fish stock in the pumpkin soup.
One of our guests doesn’t eat seafood and wouldn’t eat the soup, they did offer her another dish.
I don’t understand why the waiting staff were not informed the the pumpkin soup that was normally vegetables soup had a base of fish stock.
When I phoned and complained to the staff and informed them what had happened they said we would have been advised what was in the soup and offered a vegetarian option. This was definitely not the case. This should have been bought to our attention because a person in our group could have had an allergy to seafood and wouldn’t have exspected a seafood base in a pumpkin soup.

I was celebrating a birthday and they made me a beautiful " happy birthday " chocolate message with pretty flowers.
They also took a photo of me absolutely super as i look so natural one of the best ever taken of me.
one small point when i book on line it does not tell Riverside that i am booking high coffee instead of high tea.

Food and service was great. For high coffe I was expecting more interaction about coffee. Explamations of coffee origins and the different varieties and tastings etc. Otherwise just a nice lunch.

The High Tea was pleasant and of a good standard however when purchasing the voucher we upgraded to the better quality Mumm Champagne. When arriving we were automatically served the cheaper champagne. The error was corrected but only after we mentioned it.
We then wanted a second glass of champagne and were told that it would be at a price of $30 per glass which is ridiculously excessive for Mumm champagne. We were then informed that we could only buy a bottle. Needless to say we declined.
High tea to celebrate a birthday.
Food was very nice and plentiful for 2 people. Window seat would be lovely on a sunny winters day.

Our Mother's Day High Tea was fantastic; my mother had such a great time and was made to feel very special by the staff as well as me! The High Tea was very elegantly presented and very nice. The touch of having a gift given to each of us was also lovely. I would highly recommend this place for a special occasion. The High Tea was expensive I thought but understandable given the special day, unlimited champagne, tea and coffee.

We had a surprise 50th High Tea at the Riverside Restaurant and the quality of service we received from the staff was amazing. We were lucky enough to have Olivia look after our table and she couldn't do enough for us. From the time we got there until the time we left, Olivia was there looking after us.
Would highly recommend the Riverside Restaurant for any function.

We ate here before the theatre which worked quite well.
There is no view, it’s in the middle of a construction site, the blinds were down & there is little ambience.
The service was poor & inexperienced.
We did eat early & it seemed they weren’t ready for us even though we had booked 2 weeks before.
The food was very ordinary & my husbands quinoa salad made him I’ll.
It’s just an ordinary restaurant in a big tired hotel in a good location.
Very easy to book via phone. They managed to squeeze us in with no fuss last minute. Very professional and polite staff. All were friendly and didn’t have “chips on their shoulders”. Looking forward to eating there again, not before a show though, so then we can have 3 courses and a bottle of wine or two. The food was divine

we had visitors from overseas as it was their last week-end wanted to take them some where special. But this was not the case. We had 5 of our main meals come out while we were still eating our garlic bread then came the side orders for everyone then 10 mins later our other 3 main meals came. No one came and asked us if we wanted more drinks nore did with wine come back to the table that had been put in the fridge we had to ask for it. We had one drink all night. I complained to the head and were given 2 mixed plates of deserts and did give us a discount, but would have preferred a better service.
When we went to pay the bill they had offered to split the bill for us and then over charged us. When asked what was the total cost of the bill again she had to look in the bin for the bill.
We were able to use our entertainment card and they did not mark it off and offered us to come back for a better experience next time.
At the time we were there 8pm there was only 2 other tables with people eating.
Over all the service was VERY poor but the food was good. The staff were very polite and apologetic But very disappointed with our last week end for our guests

We choose your restaurant for our annual Anzac Day breakfast last year (2018), we were more then happy with the service, food and ambience of the restaurant. We returned again this year and once again we were very happy. The buffet breakfast was outstanding. We will return again.

The steak was not cooked to my request, it was small, chewy and over priced for the quality of meat that was presented, the wedges were amazing on the other hand.
The entre squid tentacles were delicious

Disappointing that our booking for 5 were given a table set for 6. This made conversation awkward. Our order was incorrect which was not much of a concern but the food served was cold. No staff asked how it was going so no feedback could be given. Not likely to recommend or revisit.
They forgot about our order. As a result we were late to a show at the Festival Theatre and missed the first song. It made our special day unnecessarily stressful which is a shame

I found this restaurant less than desirable.
Tables full of dirty dishes, staff vacuuming whilst we were still eating. Cold coffee
and the food was tepid.
The staff who waited upon us were very friendly and polite.
Would not return in a hurry.

The service was not as good as last time. The server was not very friendly or helpful. She did not offer the alternative mocktail (we had to ask) and tea/coffee refills were hard to get (as was a smile).
The manager was fantastic however and my last minute extra guest was easily accommodated.
The food was also fresher than last time we had high tea, when everything was dry and tasted a bit old.
Would prefer less food in the high tea, but higher quality.
Love the piano and general atmosphere.

I organised a Lunch - High Tea in the Riverside Restaurant for a Bridal Shower. The booking process was easy online and allowed me to change numbers up until 24 hours before the event. On arrival I requested a small gifts table which the staff promptly set up for me. We were given the best table in the restaurant and the food was magnificent and excessive; the staff provided take away containers for the remainder of the high-tea desserts which the oldies were extremely impressed and happy about. I also found the staff very attentive and understanding as one of the older guests had a fall the day prior and was unable to attend. Due to the size of our table the staff did not charge the $20 booking fee for her which allowed me to refund her money whilst she was on the mend and showed a high-level of customer service. Overall I was extremely impressed with the Intercontinental and I would highly recommend the restaurant to family and friends. Thank you.
