Food was ok, service was great. Environment needs an upgrade, very 80s style
The High Tea was pleasant and of a good standard however when purchasing the voucher we upgraded to the better quality Mumm Champagne. When arriving we were automatically served the cheaper champagne. The error was corrected but only after we mentioned it.
We then wanted a second glass of champagne and were told that it would be at a price of $30 per glass which is ridiculously excessive for Mumm champagne. We were then informed that we could only buy a bottle. Needless to say we declined.
High tea to celebrate a birthday.
Food was very nice and plentiful for 2 people. Window seat would be lovely on a sunny winters day.
Great service at Riverside. I really enjoyed a late night meal around 8 pm on a week night.
Amazing staff, atmosphere was relaxing, great selection of food, all 6 of us were very happy and everyone found something they wanted to eat!

Everyone who attended enjoyed the experience. Family who had recommended other places for High Tea made the comment that this was better than their recommendation.
We had a surprise 50th High Tea at the Riverside Restaurant and the quality of service we received from the staff was amazing. We were lucky enough to have Olivia look after our table and she couldn't do enough for us. From the time we got there until the time we left, Olivia was there looking after us.
Would highly recommend the Riverside Restaurant for any function.

There is no view, it’s in the middle of a construction site, the blinds were down & there is little ambience.
The service was poor & inexperienced.
We did eat early & it seemed they weren’t ready for us even though we had booked 2 weeks before.
The food was very ordinary & my husbands quinoa salad made him I’ll.
It’s just an ordinary restaurant in a big tired hotel in a good location.
Very easy to book via phone. They managed to squeeze us in with no fuss last minute. Very professional and polite staff. All were friendly and didn’t have “chips on their shoulders”. Looking forward to eating there again, not before a show though, so then we can have 3 courses and a bottle of wine or two. The food was divine

we had visitors from overseas as it was their last week-end wanted to take them some where special. But this was not the case. We had 5 of our main meals come out while we were still eating our garlic bread then came the side orders for everyone then 10 mins later our other 3 main meals came. No one came and asked us if we wanted more drinks nore did with wine come back to the table that had been put in the fridge we had to ask for it. We had one drink all night. I complained to the head and were given 2 mixed plates of deserts and did give us a discount, but would have preferred a better service.
When we went to pay the bill they had offered to split the bill for us and then over charged us. When asked what was the total cost of the bill again she had to look in the bin for the bill.
We were able to use our entertainment card and they did not mark it off and offered us to come back for a better experience next time.
At the time we were there 8pm there was only 2 other tables with people eating.
Over all the service was VERY poor but the food was good. The staff were very polite and apologetic But very disappointed with our last week end for our guests

We choose your restaurant for our annual Anzac Day breakfast last year (2018), we were more then happy with the service, food and ambience of the restaurant. We returned again this year and once again we were very happy. The buffet breakfast was outstanding. We will return again.

The steak was not cooked to my request, it was small, chewy and over priced for the quality of meat that was presented, the wedges were amazing on the other hand.
The entre squid tentacles were delicious

Disappointing that our booking for 5 were given a table set for 6. This made conversation awkward. Our order was incorrect which was not much of a concern but the food served was cold. No staff asked how it was going so no feedback could be given. Not likely to recommend or revisit.
They forgot about our order. As a result we were late to a show at the Festival Theatre and missed the first song. It made our special day unnecessarily stressful which is a shame

I found this restaurant less than desirable.
Tables full of dirty dishes, staff vacuuming whilst we were still eating. Cold coffee
and the food was tepid.
The staff who waited upon us were very friendly and polite.

The service was not as good as last time. The server was not very friendly or helpful. She did not offer the alternative mocktail (we had to ask) and tea/coffee refills were hard to get (as was a smile).
The manager was fantastic however and my last minute extra guest was easily accommodated.
The food was also fresher than last time we had high tea, when everything was dry and tasted a bit old.
Would prefer less food in the high tea, but higher quality.
Love the piano and general atmosphere.

I organised a Lunch - High Tea in the Riverside Restaurant for a Bridal Shower. The booking process was easy online and allowed me to change numbers up until 24 hours before the event. On arrival I requested a small gifts table which the staff promptly set up for me. We were given the best table in the restaurant and the food was magnificent and excessive; the staff provided take away containers for the remainder of the high-tea desserts which the oldies were extremely impressed and happy about. I also found the staff very attentive and understanding as one of the older guests had a fall the day prior and was unable to attend. Due to the size of our table the staff did not charge the $20 booking fee for her which allowed me to refund her money whilst she was on the mend and showed a high-level of customer service. Overall I was extremely impressed with the Intercontinental and I would highly recommend the restaurant to family and friends. Thank you.

My Son and me luv our Footy, always make a good time of it win or lose. Food Like catching a Mulloway down the Coorong, the steak was amazing, medium rare. The Service Was just fun with Australia people, they switched on with Culture. Luved it Emensely. Stevo

I was there to celebrate a 40th birthday. There were 10 of us in total (8 adults, 2 kids). We arrived at the restaurant at 1800 hrs on a Thursday evening and were the first guests there. The was nobody at front of house to greet us and show us to our table so after a brief wait I walked in and found a staff member.
We ordered our meals not long after arriving. As we ordered a very large group arrived which may have contributed to the slow service for the rest of the evening.
Starters didn't arrive until 1900 hrs and disappointingly for those who ordered soup, it arrived cold (it wasn't meant to be). Such as shame as the soup tasted great. Only 1 guest enjoyed their starter.
I asked for children's meals to be brought out with starters but they didn't arrive until the adult came out. Mains didn't come out together and some were half way through their meals before they all arrived. Mains were a mixed bag with some thinking they were very tasty whilst others not so impressed. I had the chicken which was extremely overdone and dry. It was also overly salted.
Table wine (red) arrived far too warm as if it had been sat beside a heater. We witnessed another table refuse their wine and put it back.
We opted not to have desserts.
Staff were friendly when speaking to us but were perhaps overstretched due to the large party that were in this particular evening.

Well i was very impressed ,and my guests were very happy as well. We started to make plans for the next event. I was very happy that there was a decent place with great food and service. Great waitresses that were very informative and friendly and helpful. I hope it will remain like this.

Had to request a sharper knife to finish meal The menu provided on the web page was not the same menu that was presented at the meal. different to the point of unsatisfactory and disappointing.

Friday lunch and we were one of two tables occupied. A very limited menu with some items not available. Our food was a mix of frozen chicken thrown into a fryer, a nice piece of fish served on pre-prepared potato something and an almost inedible pasta dish. The waiter was efficient. Clearly the hotel has decided that lunch is not worth the effort. Neither should this restaurant be for potential diners.
The service was great, food was ok but I was a bit dissatisfied that the advertised Entertainment book deal was not honored (2 for 1 main meals) and a watered down deal was offered instead.
Great high tea food great, but our visit sit was made so special by the service we reviewed, from his badge we deduced his name is Nicholas Miller, he was knowledgeable about the various wines you sell and about the locality of the food we were served, he was attentive to all in the restaurant at the time, and very smart and presentable, he made our mother/daughter high just sooo special.
