Restaurant Lurleen's
Mathew has had a passion for food since a very young age. Inspired by Marco Pierre White, he is well known and respected in the industry, having worked at Lakehouse (Daylesford), Qualia (Hamilton island), Stokehouse (Melbourne) and most recently opening Matt Moran’s, Little Big House (Brisbane). His exciting seasonal menus feature cutting edge dishes to complement each of Sirromet’s unique dining experiences.
Also onsite at Sirromet Winery, visitors can enjoy wine tastings, winery tours, casual dining at 3 onsite restaurants, accommodation and a year-round calendar of entertainment.
I came to Lurleen’s about 3 years ago and did the tasting menu which was absolutely outstanding. I decided to return and bring my parents and my partner for a birthday treat. It seems the tasting me ie has changed and possibly not in the most positive way. The desert, the scallop chilli broth and the brisket dishes were the standouts of the new tasting menus but the first two courses specifically missed the mark with not only myself, but All three of my guests not really enjoying them. We all felt like the dishes were a bit too try hard with flavors that were perhaps trying too hard to be edgy. Overall we still had a great experience, but I must say that the new tasting menu probably doesn’t stack up to others I have had including the old sirromet tasting menu.
Service was great as usual such lovely staff, very helpful and friendly. The food on the other hand was less than acceptable for the price you pay. I had a steak which was as tough and an old boot, I don’t usually order steak when dining out however thought with the reviews for the restaurant I would try one, not a good decision $50 for an old boot!! Very very disappointing meal.
Absolutely amazing food, would highly recommend checking this resurant out
i thought the menu was very limited, especially the entree, I struggled to find something I liked. I had the duck for main which was very tough and not enjoyable.
Service was a bit slow but it was a full restaurant and we did have to wait about 0 mins for our mains. Wait staff were very good but did have to chase a few to pay the bill as they were all chatting around the bar and not checking status of tables. Food very good but no chicken on the menu and vegan options were limited for a member in our party. Always go for a special occasion!
The dining experience was fantastic.
The staff were all friendly and helpful. The 4 star rating should be a 4 and a half but can’t give a half star. And I only marked them down as we were a little rushed to order as they had numbers turn up around the same time. Our booking was made well in advance so I figured a full house shouldn’t affect the Speed at which we choose to order.
Aside from that very minor point, the food was bloody amazing! Such great flavours. We don’t eat out at fine dining restaurants very often these days and it was a real experience to enjoy the culture and taste of Sirromet. We will be going back more regularly.
Service was acceptable. Food was very poor. Quite a bit of it was left as inedible. I would not go there again and have told friends it is a destination best avoided.
When we arrived, we had no idea there was a concert on for the afternoon. We were told where to park up near the restaurant, then that changed and were told to park on the ground where all of the concert goers had to park. Then we had to walk up to the restaurant across the ground, in amongst mulch in high heels, making us late. There should have been some kind of notice upon booking to advise that there was a concert. Parking is a shambles here on a good day, let alone concert days. Parking needs to be surfaced.
Great location with attentive service staff - in our case the wonderful Louis.
Good menu selection and the food was well presented and very tasty.
Overall a really good experience
Amazing food fantastic table service by Maria and wonderful wine...what more could you ask for!
If you haven’t visited Lurleen’s you are really missing something 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Amazing food, amazing wine, amazing location. A great memory I’ll have for a long time.
Awesome dining tried the 8 course tasting menu excellent food and service
Highly recommended
Have visited many times over the years and twice in last 2 months and the food was disappointing and not to the standard of previous times
Celebrating a birthday, reviewed other options in the area. Very happy we chose this place , great food and service to match. Recommend to others even though a little expensive. We had the 6 course tasting menu with wine.
Beautiful venue. The food was innovative and well presented and very tasty. Offered vegan food.
Beautiful restaurant with ambience and service was fantastic. Food was good but portion size was a bit small.
Limited staff servicing. Staff freindly. Food and service not as good as it use to be. Had to park at the bottom of a hill in the dark. RUM OUT Of STOCK. No Coffee. Wont be going back any time soon.
Our waiter was excellent and the food as usual was superb.
Very enjoyable experience for my partner and I. The food and service was great and view fantastic. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
I would definitely recommend Restaurant Lurleen's to a friend. The service is always excellent and the food is outstanding.
Amazing dining experience. We went mid-week so it was a bit quieter, were seated next to the window with a beautiful view, service was friendly and prompt, and the food was incredible. Cannot fault it.
Great place to bring friends and family to have a meal together
The service was excellent. Some of the dishes were absolutely perfect, but the spaghetti was overly sweet.
I enjoyed dinner and drove back for breakfast the next day.
The breakfast was perfect in every way.
Noise level unacceptable. Menu has deteriorated and service patchy.
Fantastic service, food was delicious and very welcoming and friendly environment.
Unfortunately the rump steak we had for lunch was very tough.
We even had problems cutting through the meat with the large
knife supplied.
It was very chewy and difficult to eat and I had to leave quite a
lot on my plate. This is not good value for money.
The entrees, duck pate, soup and desserts , crepe brûlée
were excellent.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience. The waitresses were welcoming and very efficient and made the day enjoyable. The food was exceptional and it was a very nice change to not be rushed. The dishes appeared at just the right time. Definitely will return.
One of my favorite restaurants. Always has good food and service
Brilliant food that left us in awe that it was so good. We're looking forward to going back soon for more!
Absolutely fantastic and will definitely be back!!!
The venue and ambience takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the city with time just floating by. The food was extremely nice however slightly on the expensive side, but when taken into account with the great time we had there I didn't resent paying. I would recommend Restaurant Lurleen to anyone but make sure to set aside some time to enjoy the full grounds which you will not regret.
Some of our party had seafood and that was perfect. Others had steaks which were rather tasteless so value for money was not good for those. It was a special event for our party so a little disappointing.
Great food and service, we have been before and that’s why we came back.
The night wasn’t very busy so we didn’t have to wait very long for each course.
We mentioned to the female waiter that it was our wedding anniversary and our dessert came out with “Happy Anniversary” piped in chocolate on the plate, which I thought was a very nice personal touch. Well done! We will definitely be back again!
Great food, friendly and helpful service. Highly recommended.
Everything about this place is perfect
A farewell dinner for our son visiting from the UK. Food was excellent - two of us had the scallops and Moreton Bay bugs starter and it was fabulous, as was the beetroot vegetarian starter. All of our mains were exceptional and the creme brûlée was superb. The only slight downside was that the cake dessert was a little dry. Service was outstanding and our waitress was really excellent.
This was the best meal I have had... It was exquisite. Congratulations to the Chef and staff at Lurleens and to Terry Morris for this impressive restaurant.
Fabulous restaurant environment in the beautiful Sirromet winery's main building with great views over the countryside. The food was innovative & of a very high quality. The suckling pig main was divine as was the smoked venison & pork cheek & octopus entrees. A bottle of Museum Sirromet cabernet shiraz topped it off brilliantly. Will definitely be back.
The venue is perfect, the food is amazing but the staff should listen when taking orders and when charging items to the bill.
The food is always superb. The service can often be amiss, especially when you are paying such a high price for food it is important to receive a high standard of service.
It was very noisy on this occasion with people (diners) yelling etc
