Fantastic food and friendly, knowledgeable service. Ambience was lovely, although (exterior) lighting felt a bit harsh - not great for pics either. Recommend!

Have been waiting for the opportunity to get to Canberra and eat at rebel rebel. Was not disappointed, Sean and the team looked after us with amazing service, great wines and exceptional food. Highly recommended, can’t wait to come back soon.

From arrival at REBEL REBEL I was, as in the past, greeted warmly by the maitre d', a Frenchman who is excellent at his job. As a solo diner, I was treated all night as a valuable customer and enjoyed very much the atmosphere. The food was equally fine: wonderfully flavoursome freshly shucked oysters, a terrific mackerel fish dish that has been on the menu before, sides of brussels sprouts and chips, and a lovely ice cream dessert sandwiched between thin meringue. A superior prosecco and the by-the-glass chardonnay were excellent drinks, well treated as to be expected. The room is always wonderful to return to. and to see it well populated by people clearly enjoying being out and about after the lockdown helped make for a memorable night. It was raining outside when I was ready to leave and chef, Sean McConnell, rustled up an umbrella for me to get me to my car - unnecessary, but a thoughtful and welcome gesture. He said to keep the umbrella but I won't. I'll drop it back this week. Canberra is a fine restaurant city and REBEL REBEL is one of the best.

The food has potential but the service could use a little work. We ordered very random plates of food and really could have used more guidance and a better explanation of the menu so we ordered correctly.

Innovative shared plates with superb sauces, great wine list and great service. My first return to a Canberra favourite after the easing of COVID-19 restrictions. A celebratory dinner to mark a birthday and the end of online teaching.

Dining solo can be challenging at times, but it allows you focus on the meal. The flavours were lovely and all matched well together. Staff were easy going and informative. Nice calm atmosphere and music just enough to muffle conversation in the room....clever.

Second time I’ve lunched at Rebel Rebel and both times have been excellent. Loved the prawns in bay leaf butter and the mackerel as a main. The confit duck didn’t quite live up to expectations, fell short of intensity of flavour. The wine and beer list is also well thought out, not extensive but interesting. Will defiantly go again.

Had a lovely night. The only thing I would say was that the beetroot horseradish dressing on the oysters over powered the oysters and couldn’t really taste them

The pigs ears sandwiches were a bit of fun. The lamb rump and the duck dishes were outstanding, and their chips are superb. We also loved the prawn croquettes. The chocolate dessert was good but not exceptional.

Have always enjoyed our evenings. Relatively simple food prepared in creative ways. Can sometimes be unexpected ingredients combined yet they always create deliciousness. Always order lots of dishes to share and of course it is even better when there is more than two at the table. Ample vegetarian options. Knowledgeable assistance when selecting wine. Friendly and attentive service.

Delicious! Our first dinner out post lockdown and it was a really special place to go. Every dish was delicious. We were so full we couldn't even order a 'full' desert but we squeezed in some house made divine ice-cream and sorbet. Highly recommend!!
