My poached eggs were very overcooked (pretty-much hard-boiled) and the whole dish was bland.
Seated outside it was a little difficult to get service at times.
The other meals looked good, and the drinks (tea/coffee) were fine.
The food was good but not outstanding and therefore not value for money. The noise in a full restaurant at dinner service was outrageous. We were three people on a table and we had to shout to be heard. I have told many people and I will not return unless I hear that it has been addressed.
We had the set menu as we were a table of eight. Food was much better last time we visited, when we ordered a la carte. Starters were good (oyster, croquette, trout, sardines) but mains (swordfish, pork neck) were only so so. Veges were good but there could have been more of them. Dessert (liquorice and chocolate) was OK, but there were better options on the menu. Still it's a good place with excellent service and a great sound track. I will return.
Too loud for a dining venue. You shouldn’t have to scream when chatting with friends over dinner. Cocktail had to be sent back because it was undrinkable. 1 out of here dishes orders was delicious, the other two were ok. But the staff were wonderful.
Lots of tasty vegetarian food. Very creative kitchen
Meat was gristle and had to quietly be tucked into a serviette and hidden under plate. Serves very small for the price. Lazy service to place couples right next to each other when the rest of the restaurant was empty. Loud room.
Whilst the swordfish and broccolini were amazing we were disappointed by the aftertaste of bbq on a couple of the dishes. The wine was lovely but the clearing of tables whilst still eating was a put off.
Great food, wine and service. Wonderful new addition to the Canberra scene.
McConnell food always amazing. The service was exceptional!
Delicious food, excellent service. Group of five fussy eaters and everyone happy. Sustainably caught fish an added bonus.
Great service great food but some people might find it noisy
Beautiful space, lovely staff and a great wine list. However, the food was very very bland. We had tartare, asparagus, beef cap, cauliflower and broccoli and it pretty much all tasted like nothing. Very disappointing.
Enjoyed a great selection of sharing plates, good wine and very good service, bit noisy when full, but that should not be a deterrent. Good evening for us. Try it out
An exciting new addition to the Canberra food scene. It's always fun to see what new palate adventures await on our visits to Canberra. Great work and keep it up. Tasty. Fresh.
Most enjoyable..made more so by our great waitress and the great food.
Wonderful evening with friends and amazing dishes – we would particularly recommend the clams! The service was impeccable and staff made us feel extremely welcome. Despite the venue being reasonably busy we were able to converse at a normal level. Would definitely recommend locals and visitors alike check this place out.
Great place to enjoy catching up with friends over coffee and a meal.
Wonderful venue compliments to Chef and his team fora wonderful wine and food evening on a cold evening in Canberra thank you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Lovely dinner to celebrate a birthday. Considerate and attentive staff who managed the gluten and nut-free needs of the party members well. Loved it all, but the flat iron, clams, croquettes and rhubarb fool were rated as highlights.
Great first outing to this restaurant
Really interesting, innovative food for sharing. Unfortunately we didn't have time for dessert! Definitely will be back again
Great food in a lovely setting. It was quiet on a weekday morning, so there was lots of room, and only a short wait for food.
The coffee and tea (brewed chai) was really good. And the food was amazing. I had the granola - who knew rhubarb could taste so good? My partner had the polenta, and was also impressed.
Excellent food and friendly staff
Excellent food, excellent and knowledgeable service in a tasteful modern but noisy setting (I understand they are looking at ways to minimise the noise). Looking forward to going back and sampling more of the menu!
Interesting food in a buzzing atmosphere. The chef delivered one of our mains to the table himself. Not much for vegetarians.
Fabulous food and service. I had one of the best Margaritas in Australia.
Fantastic menu - we returned within twelve hours to try their breakfast. Not disappointed.
Great tasty and innovative food. Lovely service. Tables well spaced. Wine choices a bit less impressive.
This was one of the most pleasant dining experiences I've ever had. The food was perfectly portioned, not to mention tasty, service was attentive but not in-your-face, atmosphere was calm yet there was still a bit of a buzz about the place. I absolutely loved it, will go back.
Over priced and small serves. No way you could share dishes as suggested. Found multiple bones in the fish
Great food/business model, v interesting menu with plenty to choose from. They want the diner to enjoy the experience and there is a sense of pride and commitment to making sure you do.
Ill be back and wish them well in what should be a terrific addition to the Canberra dining scene.
Seamless experience. Great food, lovely wines by the glass, spot-on service.
Interesting menu, slightly pricey, but very tasty food. Hard surface fit out makes conversations difficult when restaurant is buzzing.
A fantastic gastronomic delight of food you wouldn't attempt at home. Interesting, filling and phenomenal.
It was great! Good service, delicious food and fun atmosphere!
Great new restaurant - dishes are made for sharing.... the steak (“flat iron”) was amazing!! We’ll be back!!
Slow service met with unfriendly staff and had to ask multiple times for our drinks. Food service was sporadic, with long waits for the most basic of items such a chips. Meals servings were extremely small and we needed extra chips at the end to try and fill up. Unfortunately another long wait, with multiple questions being posed to staff on their whereabouts. Menu needs to be rethought. No one enjoyed the beef tartare with Tahini did not work at all. Would not risk spending that money there again.
