Delicious and unconventional seasonal food, with diverse and eclectic wine list (without being overwhelming!) Lots of really great seafood options and great for vegetarians too. Service was excellent.
Have always enjoyed our evenings. Relatively simple food prepared in creative ways. Can sometimes be unexpected ingredients combined yet they always create deliciousness. Always order lots of dishes to share and of course it is even better when there is more than two at the table. Ample vegetarian options. Knowledgeable assistance when selecting wine. Friendly and attentive service.
Great evening. Food was awesome, atmosphere was lively, and the service spot on. Thank you
Very clever food, great service.
Wine list is a bit basic, but overall worth a visit.
We had a lovely evening at Rebel Rebel. Our faves were the duck and Ice cream sanga! Definitely worth a visit!
Rebel Rebel is one of my favourite restaurants in Canberra. The food is consistently delicious and the service flawless.
Fantastic, friendly staff, some of the best vegetarian options in a high quality restaurant
Delicious! Our first dinner out post lockdown and it was a really special place to go. Every dish was delicious. We were so full we couldn't even order a 'full' desert but we squeezed in some house made divine ice-cream and sorbet. Highly recommend!!
Great menu, the service was amazing, they remembered us from our last visit, making us feel very welcome.
Great food, great service, solid drinks list in a chic building.
First night out from iso - attentive and friendly staff and very tasty tapas.
Beautiful food, delightful service, interesting (in the best way) wine list. Definitely worth your time to check out Rebel Rebel.
Fantastic food, fresh, incredibly tasty and well sized portions. Honestly could’ve licked the plate the sauces were so good. Also very dietary aware, as a coeliac I felt very safe.
Has a great evening, staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. I hope to go back soon
Great food in a relaxed atmosphere - we enjoyed dinner so much went back for breakfast ! Staff were delightful
Great food and service. Can not recommend this place enough.
Great food, great service - modern and upbeat - we had a lovely evening!!
Every aspect of our dining experience at Rebel Rebel was fabulous. Starting with incredible service, to outstanding dishes. We started with prawn and corn croquettes which were devoured in seconds, we had clams with chorizo in a cider broth which was mopped up with our generous slices of charred bread. My companion had a delectable glass of wine whilst myself and my son had delicious non-alcoholic options.
Have told all my friends about Rebel Rebel! Cant wait to dine there again!!
Food was incredible and the staff were super lovely and helpful. We’ll be back again!
My breakfast was delicious but would appreciate if Rebel Rebel would have lactose free milk so I can have a coffee. please consider it!
Can’t recommend highly enough. Magnificent food and great service.
In Rebel Rebel Sean McConnell has given us one of Australia’s best offerings. Superb.
Bit noisy but otherwise food exceptional and service second to none for our group of five..
A friend recommended that I try this restaurant and I was very glad they did. Many standout dishes and a great place to share plates and good plonk. The Octopus dish, in particular, was fantastic. The wine list had a great selection and completed a positive food and beverage experience all round.
Fabulous, exciting food. Amazing wine list and of course sensational service. All round a great night!
Another lovely experience at Rebel Rebel. This time a very early dinner (5pm) before a movie at the nearby Palace Cinema. We love that RR is open all day - makes it a really appealing place to have a meal or just a snack before or after a movie.
Terrific food and a varied selection although we made the mistake of ordering two dishes with chilli (too much for us) because we didn't read the menu closely enough! The croquettes and sardines were delicious and the Rhubarb Fool was just beautiful.
And the staff are charming and right on the ball!
Great place but much much much too noisy. Love the venue and love the food from previous visit. But Saturday it was deafening and we had to leave before we ordered.
We went for Saturday brunch. The food and service were excellent - a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It wasn't overly busy and we found the noise level less bothersome than on our first visit. I think they're considering some noise deadening measures which will make it a particularly attractive place to dine. A great new addition to the Canberra dining scene.
Really interesting menu, friendly service and great ambience.
From the minute we entered Nathan, our waiter made us feel welcome. Nathan's knowledge of the menu and the wine list was outstanding and his recommendations were very helpful, particularly the Canberra region wine by Ravensworth (skin Contact Pinot Gris). Sean McConnell's menu, "modern Australian with a vague European lean" is interesting with an emphasis on vegetables. We chose an array of dishes from a tuna tartare with watermelon and feta, pickled octopus, sardine piadina and eggplant with a spicy addition of nduja and almonds and mint. Oops nearly forgot the chips, possibly the best in Australia! We could not resist deserts and shared the chocolate, liquorice and macademia and the roasted rhubarb fool. It was great to see Sean in the kitchen too! We will return and highly recommend
Rebel Rebel was a fantastic restaurant that provided a great atmosphere, will well served amazing food that was a true treat
Outstanding modern Australian cuisine. Very innovative. I’ll be back
Great service great food. Loved the steak tartare and the mackerel. Might wanna set up a degustation so I can try more at once :) overall great time.
Beautiful food, attentive staff, contemporary setting.
Fabulous food & service. Good to see Sean McConnell on the floor amongst the diners.
My son recommended Rebel Rebel to me - terrific dining experience.
Lovely service but the food was pretty average; strange flavour combinations, undercooked.
Nectarines in the salad were hard and had a chunk seed in it.
Beef rump cooked perfectly but somehow had no flavour.
Has lots of potential. Would go again, just needs a tuning.
My partner and I had a fantastic meal at Rebel Rebel this week. The restaurant is lovely without being pretentious, the staff knowledgeable and friendly and the food was to die for. We had the beef tartare, croqueta, pork neck, rump cap, broccolini and chips and everything was fantastic and so moreish. We will definitely be returning.
we booked a table for five people and had a fixed menue with free drink on arrival. Once sitted, the free drink never arrived. me and my partner ordered drinks to match dinner meals and those regularly arrived late or not until the waiter had to be reminded. this was the same for the free drink which only arrived once our second course was being cleared.
My mother and partner happened to be in the same restaurant but some tables away. they received exactly the same amount of food as the five of us. When I asked the waiting stuff why this was the case the response was "oh reallyy.... sorry about that". Not a response you expect of professional waiting stuff in a fine dining restaurant.
Overall very disapponted. would not recommand spanding money to be treated so badly.
