All the food was excellent, staff was very friendly, really enjoyed.
El lugar está bonito y bien localizado, pero está vacío. Fuimos en sábado y a las 2.30 pm eramos la única mesa. Cuando nos fuimos alrededor de las 4, únicamente había otras dos mesas ocupadas.

Booked this restaurant for our last evening in Mexico City which coincidentally was Valentine’s Day without realizing they had a set menu. Booked the last seating and enjoyed the fact the restaurant wasn’t full anymore. Music wasn’t loud which was great to have comfortable conversations. We were offered Champagne to start which they kept refilling. Staff explained each dish as it came and we switched to red wine before ending with a spectacularly well balanced dessert with top notch Mexican coacoa nibs and tequila to sip on. By far our best meal of the entire week in Mexico and a perfect way to end our week long stay. It was fabulous from start to finish! I can’t wait to go back 😃

El servicio fue lentísimo, la comida bastante regular y el precio muy muy muy elevado.
La comida deliciosa, el servicio extraordinario. Las porciones son chicas, puedes pedir varios platos, todo lo que probamos estaba buenísimo. El sobreprecio de los vinos está algo exagerado.

Each time we go, Raiz continues to impress us with its quality, warm atmosphere and deliciousness.
Excellent and original food — especially loved the pate and the rice pudding but everything being served around us looked wonderful! Service was friendly and attentive and our waiter eve gave us a tour of the kitchen and the prep kitchen after or meal.Loved it!
so much to like . . . starting with the room. Very nicely separated tables, very calming space that somehow manages to have both an exposed kitchen and black walls. Somehow it totally worked.
Very professional old-school service without being stodgy, just the right number of table touches.

Todo en general muy bien, la comida es excepcional, el motivo por el que no le doy excelencia es (como muchos casos) el servicio y en especial de uno de los "capitanes" des afortunadamente no pregunte el nombre, pero no es Víctor quien por el contrario nos atendió muy bien, que triste que no se tenga actitud de servicio.

The beef tartar was excellent and the presentation and execution was very nicely done. The fois gras with cocoa was original but lost the fois. What was really disappointing was the fact tha we asked to split the steak and we asked if they could do that considering we wanted two terms (one medium rare and on med done) to which they agreed! We were pleased until we got the bill and they charged us for two main courses which we had clearly asked to split. We love to eat well and high end but we done like it when we are taken for a ride.
Other than the table that they put us in which was in front of a very busy place where they pour drinks and got cutlery the experience was wonderful. The table was quite hectic and they wouldn’t move us. That said the wait staff was lovely and the food quite good. We had a nice time but it could’ve been better if we had a better table.
Fantastic food from appetizers to desserts. Wonderful atmosphere and great service too.

The presentation was very nice, and the service was good. However, the food was not good. I would not go back nor would I recommend this. Definitely not worth the price.
I’m dressed business casual, my girlfriend is getting directly off a flight (with suitcase and all, if it isn’t obvious, she’s in a sweater so a bit casual, sure), and we go straight to Raíz, arriving at 9:15 pm. I say this to the server’s benefit: maybe they thought we were not “high paying clientele.” Okay.
The waiters I speak Spanish with (my Spanish is not great, but passable) ignore me. An English speaking waiter interacts with me instead. He looks like the most unhappy person on earth. He is brusque and rude, not courteous at all. I order our drinks and notice one of them comes without espuma. No mention of this is made. When I ask if it was supposed to have it, they apologize and say they ran out.
Then I witness my waiter and the bartender get into a fight. A loud fight. Zero professionalism. If it was the bar I worked in, I would have been fired on the spot; in my experience I could never be interacting with another employee that way in front of guests.
Okay, it happens. Mistakes are made. Some nights are bad nights. A better employee helps my table. He also—when I order a $30 glass of wine—says, in Spanish, “Uh, you see the prices listed here?” as if I don’t understand what I’m paying for.
Yes. Yes, I can afford a $30 glass of wine, and that’s why I’m ordering it. I don’t understand why you’re trying to clarify with me, unless you think I’m poor.
I have been to the likes of Aviary and Boka and Momofuku restaurants in the states. I also understand that mistakes happen. I have been to Taco Bell, or KFC, or Wendy’s, and I understand I am paying for less, I do not expect stellar service.
But I have never been so insulted as when I went to Raíz. I saw service that was so unprofessional I was embarrassed for the staff. I was treated like a plebeian. And—because this is what I would want to know when considering a critical customer—yes, I smiled and said thank you and tipped 20%.
They didn’t earn it.

No Bourbon 👎🏽 our server had to run back and check.
No Prosecco 👎🏽 again, our waiter didn’t know off hand so he had to run in back and check.
What they did try to PUSH was a $120 bottle of Taittinger several times, not appreciated.
The decor is dark and beautiful, the food is memorable but servers need to know the menu and what their bar stocks. They need to also observe their tables from afar.

Yes yes yes, as when Harry met sally. It was a wonderful decadent mouthwatering experience. We had the lobster tacos, the presentation of the sumptuous generous lobster tail and the fixings according to our hearts desire was perfect! I wanted slightly spicy, he al contrary! We had the ruby crab, the tortillas unnecessary however the presentation with the different corn nibs fenomenal! Followed by mouthwatering succulent bones ribs cooking and marinating for hours, explosive! Too finish, mouth cleansing arroz con leche, light airy and cleansing. The mango dessert was as engaging....soaked in a small moat of passion fruit delight! Will we revisit, most definitely!
Time and time again Raíz provides a fabulous dinning experience. Amazing new dishes developed over the last few months. And service continued to be tops
The only question I have is when will Raíz rise to the top 50 restaurants in the world

We had a fantastic dining experience at Raiz and highly recommend it. The restaurant is small and cozy and not loud. The kitchen is in full view behind a window and it was fun and interesting observing the cooks at work. And the food..Oh the food. It was exquisite. The food was modern Mexican and the plates were unique. I’ll be back next time I am in the DF.

La comida deliciosa, pero sacaron muy PR o to la ensalada y le falto al checo colocar los huevos de codorniz.
Al final de la comida había pocos meseros para atender, asumo que sería su hora de comer o cambio de turno.
We very much enjoyed lunch at Raiz. The food was Mexican modern, gorgeous and delicious. The tables are spaced to give privacy and the service was attentive and professional. The menu is small, concentrating on local, seasonal products. I will definitely return!
La comida excelente, pero se me hizo sobre valuado en el caso del prime rib ya que si calidad no era la mejor, estaba bastante dura. Y estaría muy bien que tuvieran alguna opción sencilla los fines de semana para niños
