A most enjoyable experience for a casual Sunday lunch, although the wine prices are on the high side.
The food was really good but unfortunately the service was ordinary. We were in a corner table and I think they kind of forgot we were there. We waited about ten - fifteen minutes to have mains cleared and receive dessert menus, then waited another ten or so minutes to have no one return to take a dessert order. My husband approached the bar to order and we were told they closed the kitchen and forgot to tell us.. dinner was $180 for two people so expected service to have a little more attention to detail for the cost.
Great staff - nice menu - beautiful views. A cut above most pub offerings, and a wonderful location.
Food was very nice and the service was good. We Enjoyed ourselves.
First time will not be last. Would recommend to all my friends.
Hi PatC, Thank you for your review - we're glad you enjoyed yourself and look forward to welcoming you back next time. Cheers, The Raffles
The $42 steak was an embarrassment, it looked like a $5 Coles steak and worse, it looked like they boiled it, the Pork Sirlion was literally oozing oil and fatty, very average food. For a $300 lunch for 4 people it was the worst Ive had, will never go back. Rockpool prices with a bunnings sausage sizzle quality.
My husband and I were celebrating our 10th anniversary the night we went for dinner at the Raffles. We thought the restaurant was still upstairs, however it was adjacent to the bar. It was so busy and crowded, the tables were really close together and it was hard to have a conversation as everyone around us was having to shout to be heard. Where we were seated was also a bit of a thoroughfare to the toilets for the patrons drinking outside. The door to outside was wide open and it was a cold wet night with no heating inside. The staff were friendly but a few kept delivering the wrong meals to the wrong tables. We enjoyed our meals however the noise factor in particular spoilt the evening for us.
Really enjoyed our lunch here, maybe a couple more desserts would be good.
Food is in average. There is no river view for indoor tables.
Service was great, not alot of choice but tasty...nice place
Great spot for a girls lunch and Tony is always very accommodating. The food is good to share .. could improve on their coffee .
Great service, location and food. I cant ask for more. Well done guys!
Clearly my booking was for 9 people but they insisted I booked for 8. I was charged for a meal we never ordered or received. Food was very average and overpriced. Wouldn’t recommend unfortunately!!
A great place to relax by the river. A bit more expensive than some places but they have great food and the beers are the best in ice cold glasses. Love the Raffles and would go back. Great place to unwind and staff were excellent
Great location, attentive, fun staff, lovely food and easy parking around.
Worse experience in my regular
Go to bar / hotel. Arrived on Saturday 11:30 am. Could not get served a drink, of any sort waited Standing physically Ignored by over 4 bar staff / let alone abrupt rude and almost dismissive sarcastic attitude from welcoming concierge. Stood at bar over 25 min to finallyReceive drinks after issuing in advance. Myself and one other customer 11:50am could not even order etc when open, etc. I finally ordered and paid to wait 20 min for two simple drinks. We drink them and left within then next five mins as even the second customer, ie I was first another general public man unknown to me wait also for over half an hour. Dismissed rude and simply left, no food no service and utterly disgusted. Left the place and Had already texted
Other group of six friends we are here from 11:30 - 12:20pm they coming 12:30pm meet us another venue. Unsure what was going on, day before Father’s Day but quite simply we will now look to never return after 28 years frequenting this venue. Suggest manager of bar. If he was indeed greeter/meet all staff physically in main bar ie 4 people could not serve and drink until 12:20pm. Ie no member of public to received a drink. Shocking bizarre. Felt there was some sort of issue/anger/antagonist/ bullying if staff or argument as it was extremely unpleasant. Horrid distressing for me and my friend , 2 women early 50s and myself being diabetes afflicted could not get a cold juice/soft drink/cocktail From 11:30-12:20pm. I put my name to this as I was calm but indeed another male customer like me also extremely left to wait ....... left. Many people arriving by midday 12:15pm but by then we were clearly not staying in no service / environment. Hope staff working were treated kindly and professionally, younger bar staff approx 18-25 ?! We were certainly not Left with professional normal service.
Food good. The website advertises Happy hour and discount if you finish meal by 6:30. It did not appear on account and took three attempts to get this right.
We were overcharged over $80 .You need to check your bill very carefully.
Very noisy and service very average for the price of the meals
Good for pub but no good for a meal with friends, can't hear
We thoroughly enjoyed Fathers Day Lunch. The food was really special although a little slow getting to the table however, it was very busy so understandable. We will definitely be going back & have already recommended to friends.
My main issue was that the staff cleared the table and threw one of my birthday presents in the bin and there was no real effort to find it until they were informed that the present was a precious stone. Even then no bins were checked and the present was lost to the garbage, the staff didn't make any attempt to apologise to me directly nor was there any suggestion of compensation of any kind.
Unfortunately our large booking was booked into the smoking area without us being asked if we were smokers which was pretty terrible. Outside was mostly available so there were other places they could have put the booking.
Even though there was no one at the bar waiting to be served when I was there it seemed to take a long time for anyone to ask if I was being served which was odd.
The Raffles is a great all-rounder for afternoon beers or a date night.
We had a great lunch starting with the tasting seafood plate which came with lovely fresh oysters and crunchy whole fried shrimp/prawn as well as squid. Each of the 5 of us ordered something different and we all enjoyed the meal thoroughly. Our food arrived quite quickly and service was efficient and helpful overall. I would definitely come back again but due to to the inclement weather everyone was inside, which does make it quite noisy.
Serve staff were great. Food was good. Floor manager was rude and not very helpful.
We go to the Raffles on a regular basis and the service is always great, polite and smiling faces. The food is very good, in fact we have not had one bad meal there and maybe that's why we keep going back, also the pizza is one of, if not the best in Perth and we hope they don't lose the pizza Chiefs. We have been for the Pasta night too and all dishes were really really good, not to mention value for money, $20 with a glass of wine included in the price. One of our favourite dishes is the Octopus it is absoloutly fabulous.
The Raffles can be a little loud on the weekend but you certainly feel a buzz in the place as there are not only diners there but also plenty of people lining the bar. It's a great place and well worth a visit.
Didn't stay - far too noisy - just a booze barn where you had to shout to be heard - not really a restaurant.
We had a great time, the food was very good and the service (especially our waitress) was absolutely fantastic.
We had a gathering of 14 Friends service and food really good, we certainly werent rushed to leave which was lovely as we stayed a while chatting away. The food didnt come out all at once, this may have been from us splitting the Bill, it didnt spoil our fantastic day.
The food was good but $30 for a small piece of barramundi and salad was disappointing.
Either reduce the cost or make the meals more substantial.
I understand the pizzas are good and the mid week specials are popular.
I would like to say that the service was exceptional while Paige was on the deck , once her roster finished we were left to our own devises. It didn't wreck the occasion but it just meant that group chats were more broken up. It is still a nice spot to meet friends and hang out.
Our Table was cut-off from any drinks service at approx. 10.30pm
while this may look like a typical "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" believe me
IT'S NOT !!!!
After being informed that we would not be served anymore drinks
one of the Staff threw the Bill on the table in an aggressive manner.
I've told this story to over 15 people already and will be putting it on my Twitter Feed tonight
and then my FB page
Signed Disgusted !
Booked some time ago table for 6 thinking it was a standalone restaurant within the hotel. WRONG!!! We arrived to find a crowded bar, DJ and down a couple of steps to a dining area. We were shown to a small round table (really only suitable for 4) underneath a music speaker and about 3-4 metres from the DJ.....
We explained to the staff we had one friend who was hard of hearing yet to arrive - the rest of us couldnt hear each other, how was our friend going to cope? Staff did their best to accommodate us, but when we asked if the music could be turned down a bit they said no. Our friends arrived and we all decided we would have a drink and garlic bread and "see how we go". It was quite unbearable with us all shouting to have a conversation. We decided to leave and go elsewhere (Imperial Court Chinese on Melville Poe Como) - we had the best night and best authentic Chinese food ever.
Oh, by the way it was 6.20pm when we arrived at the Raffles, so hardly doof door music time - our group consisted of 2 in their late twenties, and 4 early fifties.
We will never try to dine at the raffles again.
I don't go out for dinner very often so when I do I like to experience food that I wouldn't cook at home. When presented with your menu I was immediately underwhelmed as your menus was very boring. Also upon arrival we were sat across from an open door to the outside (on a wet cold night) that I asked if the door could be closed. The waitress seemed annoyed that I had asked and tried to convince me that every time the door would be open there would be a draft. I replied "that would be better than freezing the whole night". I would have thought as you were not too busy that night that it may have made sense to just move us to a table not in the draft zone. At the end of the evening my friends and I decided to dance to your DJ which was disasterous as he either didn't have the music we requested or would overmix the songs that we liked. Worst DJ I have ever listen to.
Nice place, good atmosphere. Simple menu not over fussy which is ideal.
Excellent. Will go again soon. Great tapas .loved the menu. Great service . Easy online booking
Enjoyed the meal but found the lighting to be very subdued and it was difficult to read the menu. Thank goodness for phone torches.
A great venue for dinning , having drinks , catching up with friends or wanting to dance the night away with friends.
i been to raffles hotel couple of times, they never disappoint me . Good food , nice view , is really value for money .
Rang Raffles direct prior to bkg day to double check. They had us inside not outside as requested via Open Table. Were happy to change it to outside.
Great day, location and setting for small reunion of old friends. Only thing was Salt n Pepper squid serve very small .. not enough on its own. Will know for next time. Pizza good.
I have been to Raffles a lot over the years and the food/menu and the quality is definitely not at its previous standards. The menu is not a nice summers menu. Everything is carbs or deef fried or wintery, there was no fresh summer dishes. The share plate had slow cooked ribs on mash which were bland and should not be on a summer menu. There was no dips for the bread, they had grisini sticks on it which have no reason for being there. We did order a pizza as well as there were not great share options and it was nice. Overall, it was fine, just not as amazing as it used to be. I much preferres the days of getting oysters, sliders, pork belly, salads etc.
