It was good to try a new spot in Melbourne especially a random cuisine like Caribbean. The spicy dark and stormys were awesome, the guys running the shop were pretty vigilant and the food alright. If you want to try something different pop along.
I would based off my first experience however I wouldn’t based off this experience. Our entree and drinks came out quickly but then we waited around half an hour to order mains and had to ask staff to take our order. There were only 2 other tables so it wasn’t due to being busy. The waiter was really friendly at the start then towards the end he just popped the food down on the table in a rush, didn’t apologise for taking so long to arrive. It was quite odd. Overall really disappointed as the food was so tasty and it was such a great place the first time I went.
Service and drinks were great. Food was pretty average.
Quirky little place with an interesting menu, with the food mostly as good as it sounds.
The only disappointment, the corn. Overcooked and lukewarm. Everything else terrific.
Terrific service from a very helpful owner/waiter?
The music was a bit loud for comfortable conversation, but then we’re old guys.
We’ll definitely be back, to try some more food choices.
Th price was a little to pricey for the quantity of food. But the oxtail was to die for.
Found this a cosy little spot, and incredibly great value and so delicious!
The quality of food has declined since we last went. As someone who works in hospitality, I have to comment that the waitstaff was quite rude and extremely unprofessional (e.g., answering back to the customer when following up order, sitting down on stools while taking orders, dropping utensils). Also, their watermelon mojito was basically 80% ice, 10% lime, and 10% watermelon pieces thrown at the bottom. We understand that the concept of the jerk chicken is a BBQ dish, but it was overcooked and tasted like charcoal. Overall, extremely overpriced for what you're getting. Would not go back, would not recommend.
If you love Caribbean food then you will LOVE Queen Vee's. They have great vegan options, and the food is spicy but enjoyable. They make a great cocktail as well and the waiters are super helpful and informative.
Awesome staff, very friendly and attentive, passionate about the drinks/food! Very nice atmosphere :)
I’ve already recommended- and I know that starting a business is hard but Pat has definitely made a home out of his space!
Amazing food, service and feel. Every single dish is incredibly tasty and generous- Highly recommend!!
Food was YUM! Drinks were delicious. Waiter was gorgeous. Sensational value.
The food was genuinely incredible. You’ve got to try the corn bread, jerk chicken and ox tail curry. The chef knows exactly what he’s doing. Service and interior was similarly exceptional.
Great atmosphere and vibe. Very welcoming and the food delicious.
Would recommend letting them choose your food!
Hard to find good carribbean food and unfortunately this place doesn’t hit the mark. The food was tasty but certainly not very carribbean - very westernised! But in saying that the cocktails are great... the corn bread and ribs were very tasty!
Maybe not a bad place for a drink and snack... The service was good too.
