Great friendly and efficient staff .
Food was fantastic , lovely and hot and had great flavour .
We were looking for somewhere to eat on a Saturday brunch / lunch time and happened to walk past Quay Street Diner. Not hugely hungry just yet, we booked a table for 2 at 1.30pm.
Getting there a little early, our table was ready in the busy restaurant so we sat down and ordered our drinks. Drinks (a pint and a tea) came out pretty quickly and our food order was taken.
We then waited. And waited. For 45 minutes. My partner went up to order another a drink (as no-one came to the table) and enquire about food.
Our 2nd round of drinks came 5 minutes later and the food 5 minutes after that.
55 minutes waiting for fish tacos and a Phillycheese Steak sub which were nice but not almost an hour wait nice.
The server apologised when our 2nd round if drinks were brought over and when we went to pay they were also apologetic.
I was looking forward to ordering a dessert (which sounded amazing) but didn't want to risk another massive wait. We left fairly quickly after finishing food.
Don’t book on line as when we got there they said they were full and we shouldn’t have been able to book on line.
Service is great but the food mediocre
I booked a table too small for our party. They switched us quickly to a booth that would work on a Friday night. My fish taco was delicious and at the end of the night they called a taxi for some of us. Friendly service and the food was better than I expected!
Excellent food, generous portions ,all freshly cooked. Authentic recipes.
Fabulous food and service. Third visit to this diner and each time I’ve never been disappointed. Already planning visit number four!
Prosecco brunch bought on wowcher for 4 of us. Paid extra for a fifth. Good service. Food, great value. We ordered an orange juice to have with our Prosecco (mimosa) but was told later we could have had it made up as one anyway which would have been good knowing beforehand but not the end of the world. Well cooked food, lush chips.
Went for the bottemless prossecco brunch and it was amazing. Great food and fab service. Defo be back & will recommend. Thank you x
Delicious food, great for veggie/vegans. Great service and nice cocktailslll
Excellent food - generous portions and very well cooked and presented. Quirky range of drinks. Give it a whirl!
Good atmosphere and pleasant staff. However, drinks and food took a very long time to arrive and when it did, most of the items on the breakfasts were over-cooked / burned.
Our table was booked for 9am however the front of house staff did not appear to be really ready for the day and it took a long time to have an order taken and any drinks to appear. There also seemed to be an issue with the meat delivery not arriving which affected our order slightly (no sausages for 1 dish). The food though was the redeeming feature which was excellent and plentiful.
On the door it states the hours of opening from 8am, this either needs correcting or adhering to.
Great menu, interesting options, food was lovely, good drinks menu and great prices! Also enjoyed the decor/interior/atmosphere, however next time we would request not to be sat right next to the door!
Unfortunately even though we had booked when we turned up the diner let us know that they had no food yet and couldn’t do brunch. I was disappointed as this was for a birthday celebration and no one had contacted us in advance.
We had a lovely brunch overall, the only downside was our server who constantly looked annoyed. We wanted to have more cocktails after brunch but it was hard to get anyone’s attention so we left.
Really impressed with this place as a ex chef of 11 years the food was spot on really nice. My wife is vegetarian and she had plenty of choice and we can’t wait to come back top work guys thank you !!!
Excellent restaurant. Not a huge choice but everything prepared well. Lovely staff. Would recommend.
Lovely atmosphere, great service, food was amazing. Bottomless brunch is well worth it!
Amazing food and fast service , my 5 year old said it was her best dinner ever!! we will definitely return on our next Bristol trip .
Really enjoyed eating at this restaurant, loved the atmosphere and the food was amazing.
Average food, small portions, average customer service - it was so a birthday but no attempt to make anything special about it. Wouldn’t recommend which is a shame.
We were pretty disappointed in the food and value. A vegi burger sold on its own with no fries was very expensive. We also ordered a salad and a couple of ingredients were left out. This included avocado. When we complained we were told that the kitchen had run out of avocado. This doesn't seem like a fair reason to serve what was mainly a bowl of lettuce without any admission, explanation or apology. We were offered sweet potato fries to compensate. However, it felt as if we were being given something in the hope we wouldn't notice or complain. I'm afraid we weren't very impressed with the food or service.
A really friendly Diner, the staff were great and the brunch was delicious. We went for a Mother's Day treat and Mum's were given a free glass of prosecco which was a lovely touch.
2nd visit, shame the specials board has disappeared but great food. Reasonably simple food done really well and fresh
Booked on open table not sure what to expect, from when we arrived staff were very friendly and helpful. Good menu and tasty food would recommend for a good night out
Booked a table then waited an hour for someone to come to serve us. Eventually gave up and went somewhere quieter. It's like a nightclub with heavy bass club tunes playing at 100dB continuously.
Lovely restaurant, so glad we stopped in for lunch. Very reasonably priced lunch menu.
Everyone enjoyed their food.
Unfortunately we were informed upon arrival that they’d run out of quite a lot of items on the menu, including the pulled pork which meant only about half of the menu was available.
Excellent birthday lunch. Best burger I have ever had said my 16 year old!
Went for Sunday lunch and it was really nice... but could of done with a few more potato’s and a bit of cauliflower cheese for the price.
What a great find! We visited on a Saturday evening and sat down to eat at about 8.00pm. Fortunately we had booked a table earlier in the day as the place was very busy. The food, service and atmosphere can't be faulted. I enjoyed the open kitchen, it was great to see the guys at work. Really good value, my wife and I will certainly visit again when we are next in the City.
Amazing food, well worth the price you pay.
Would highely recommend!
We went for brunch, I had the Huevos Rancheros and it was as good as I have had anywhere in California. Boiling hot, spicy, perfect - washed down with an extra spicy and very good Bloody Mary. The diner is a great spot and I could've chilled there for hours. Highly recommended.
Very on trend, great food (po boy) and a diverse crowd.
Great food, tacos were very good.... worth a visit for casual food, def recommend.
Very disappointing meal - chicken was quite pink and a tiny smear of guacamole when it was advertised as containing avocado.
Only one waiter - not busy - but he kept forgetting our table. Forgot to bring menus, then forgot to come back to take order, convinced us to stay for dessert and then forgot to bring menus back and started sweeping the floor for a good 10 mins.
Overpriced and mediocre. Looks nice - good decor, but I wouldn't go back.
Such a lovely welcome from the staff for us and our children. After busy day of site seeing and museums we certainly needed to refuel and relax. Quay Street Diner has such a lovely atmosphere and is located very conveniently in the city centre. Food was yummy, plenty of choice, service was prompt, efficient and so friendly and the blueberry mojito fabulous (highly recommended)! We will be back.
Booked for New Year’s Eve. Got a call in the afternoon of New Year’s Eve to say they weren’t open for when I was booked! Despite being asked to confirm I would still be turning up a few days before.
Don’t know where the fault lay, but very late notice that they wouldn’t be open. Luckily, I managed to get a table at another restaurant.
So poor score is not a reflection on the quality of the restaurant, I never got to try.
The fact I’ve been asked to review, shows Opentable/The Quay still aren’t joined up.
Service was a bit slow but the food was very tasty and everyone was satisfied.
