Purple Café and Wine Bar pairs a global wine selection with a menu that combines classic American styles with seasonal Northwest ingredients.

We feature an expansive menu ranging from artisan cheeses, starters, soups, salads, sandwiches and pizzas to pasta and seafood. We take a great deal of pride in utilizing the freshest, local ingredients that change with the seasons.

On the wine side of things our wine list features over 80 glass and 600 bottle selections. Over the years our wine program has been recognized with various accolades that include an "Award of Ultimate Distinction" from Wine Enthusiast Magazine and being named "Best Wine Bar" by Evening Magazine's Best of Western Washington Viewers Poll.

Great dining experience. The waiter was prompt the food delicious and the manager even stopped by to see how we were doing. No complaints. A fun place to visit.

This place looks super cool. Great decor and design. First the parking lot has way too few spots so you end up having to find somewhere else to park to a lot time for that. When we arrived it took awhile to get our seat even with a reservation and it was at least 10 minutes before someone came over to get drink order. The entire night took forever. We couldn’t even really figure out who our waiter was. It was strange. I ordered the Brussels sprouts which were a little under seasoned and soggy. The wine pairing was actually very good and unique. I then got the duck. Another great pairing and food was good and portion was healthy. My husband got the wine pairing experience and had dates and cheese, wild boar pasta (best dish) and crembrule (very good). Parings were unique and interesting. It was very slow and the food was just good, not great. They add 20% automatically to the bill and it was $177. Not worth it at all. I think $100-110 would have been more appropriate at max.

Food was excellent, Service very good. The one problem was that we felt RUSHED through the entire meal. We ordered a cheese plate with a glass of wine expecting a relaxed appetizer course. But our second course- salads- was delivered at the same time as the cheese plate. Our table for 2 could barely hold all of the food, wine and other items - reaching around the bottle of wine we had asked to be decanted for our entre, glassware, etc. to partake of the shared cheese plate. just as we finished our salad course, the entres were delivered- should have a little rest time between courses to allow the food to settle and not feel like we were in an eating marathon. Entres were excellent, hot when served.

The food and ambiance were great. We had a reservation for two and stayed just over an hour. This is the first I've heard of an added sevice fee for a party of two. Would this be like a table rental? In any case, I'd burn more money here next visit.

Awesome cocktails and ambience, attentive service. Food was ok. Crab cakes were a bit too salty and the Pear Gorgonzola pizza could have benefited from more Gorgonzola. Trout was good with crispy skin and salted caramels were good too. Overall, the food wasn’t super high on flavor quotient. I would go back for drinks and apps.

The food was quasi-Italian and was good but not great. We ordered the 3-course meal which was a fair price for the 3 courses. For a wine bar the wine was disappointing. I ordered a sparkling wine that was flat.
The service was cold and inattentive, barely standard service. The 20% surcharge was unexpected and did not reflect the level of service.
Ok..but not worth another visit.

The service and food were very good. We settled for 2 large Kale salads and 2 appetizers. Plenty of food to make it up for dinner. I ordered a couple of cocktails from the drink menu and must say i was disappointed. Learnings: Don't order cocktails at a wine bar!

Had a delightful birthday dinner that my vegetarian son, pizza loving husband, and I throughly enjoyed. The three course meal had several very nice options. Overall a good choice and I would gladly return.

The purple cafe is a restaurant of the same quality as any of the fine eateries one could find in Manhattan or even San Francisco. I did recommend it to someone just the other day.

Food was not good. The strangest chicken cranberry salad, thankfully I asked for dressing on the side because it tastes like ketchup. SO many huge chunks of green apple, would have upset anyone’s stomach to eat all of that. First flatbread pizza came out burnt, had to ask to have it re-made. Service was great, server was super nice, ambiance was good. Just don’t get that salad!

Nice place for a casual work holiday lunch for our small group. Service was great; great window table, looking out at the Bellevue streets on the darkest day of the year. Even though the restaurant is a large open space, it wasn't too noisy and we could have a nice conversation. Only nit was $22 for a VERY small lobster mac and cheese.

We always have such a nice time at the Purple Cafe and Wine Bar. One thing that really stands out is the fact that they give extra touches for the kids while seamlessly maintaining an elegant menu and atmosphere for the adults. One example is the milk flight on the kids’ menu. For us, our son gets to act like the adults, which helps us have a more civilized meal out as a family.

Food wasn't hot maybe barely warm. Noise level made it difficult to have a conversation and the added 20% service charge added at the end seemed sneaky by the restaurant. Restaurants should be able to pay for their staff wages at the going rate.

This visit was for our small office Holiday Party. The food was outstanding! Everyone loved the appetizers we had. We enjoyed the crab cakes, spicy shrimp, brussel sprouts, fried calamari and the caesar salad. There were a wide variety of entrees ordered as well. We had the duck, trout, filet mignon (cooked perfectly I was told), the pumpkin ravioli (sauce was a little on the sweet side), basil pesto, pork chop, and two lobster mac & cheese. We all shared a few bites around the table and positive nods all around. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively but a little too noisy for a table of 9. We were unable to include everyone in the same conversation. We did notice there were a couple larger tables off to the side that were a little more enclosed and seemed a bit more private. That would have been nice to be seated there. As it was, we were right behind the hostess station and the front door. Would know to make table request in the future. Also of great surprise in a wine bar with such an extensive wine menu, no sauvignon blanc by the glass! It was only available by the bottle (which we did order). However, we were not given a choice of which one and of course the most expensive bottle was chosen for us (and neither of us liked it). We spoke to the sommelier and chose the less expensive bottle and we both loved it! First one was oaky, the second was very crisp and light. Overall a good experience and we would go back.

Chilean wine was an amazing find. Very nummy. And the Kubota pork chop was heavenly. The veggies were even better. I could have licked the plate and gnaw on the bone. But the service disappointed. Or server never checked on us and by the time she did she lost us getting another glass of wine. If you’re going to tack on the service charge then have better service

Went for our anniversary based off of great reviews we'd heard. There were a lot of business dinners happening. Overall it was okay. The service wasn't amazing, the restaurant was quite cold and dark, very crowded and noisy. Got served the wrong food and had to wait longer to receive what we actually ordered. The Gorgonzola pear pizza was nothing special - not a lot of Gorgonzola and the crust had no flavor. Fries were good and wine was good (although quite a small pour). Probably won't be visiting again. There are a lot of much nicer restaurants that are better suited for dates and anniversaries.

Got there, with reservation got seated in the bar area even though the open areas of the restraint were empty. Charged 20% on top of bill automatically. No matter how service was. Food was fine but not great. Lamb shanks were overcooked, as was the chicken. Very expensive for a “cafe”. Will only return as a last resort.

My party of two arrived in mid-afternoon, before a late-afternoon performance nearby. I appreciated that a good restaurant was serving meals at such a relatively unusual hour, The large, airy space was not very full, which made conversation easy. Service was good, not remarkable. What stood out were the wines (as one would hope, in a wine bar) and the food. My beet/quinoa salad was, for my taste, perhaps the best green salad I've ever had -- and I'm no spring chicken! It contained a great deal more than beets and quinoa, each component was top-quality, and the combination (including the amount of dressing, for my taste) was superb. I had an entree of sauteed steelhead filet -- the fish was very good, flaking and seasoned well, with the skin being perfectly crisp -- but the standouts were the accompaniments! On to bread pudding, which was indeed one of the two lightest and most flavorful versions of this dessert that I've ever had. (I recall that the other version, years ago at a very expensive restaurant, was a great deal more expensive than this.) The accompanying flight of three wines complemented the courses and each other very well.

I'm almost embarrassed to write such a glowing review, but my taste buds and my nose were very, very happy.

The location, food, ambiance and service was excellent. However, the 20% service tab before tax is a bit steep. As a party of four we spent $200+ for dinner. For that kind of money, the food wasnt just good enough.

We made a reservation but ended up just sitting in the bar. We were seated and n on of the spirals at a cramped table so decided we would check out the bar seating instead. It was comfortable and our service was great.

Food was excellent, service improved after 4 wrong orders arrived at our table before we even had our starter. Host was rude, wouldn’t accommodate an available window table stating it was reserved for someone else but it sat empty for nearly an hour to which another window table opened up so we could have had our preferred table anyways. I did ask for another table and the only one that was offered was by the bar and we accepted. Food was great, wine delicious and server made an effort but first impressions left something to be desired.
