About this restaurant

Located at 114 Leith Walk in Edinburgh, a 10-15 minute bus ride from Waverley station, Punjabi Junction offers non-halal Indian food. The restaurant is a social enterprise run by local Sikh women and offers good quality Indian food with a Scottish twist – the signature dish is a delightful starter of crispy Haggis Pakora balls accompanied by a sweet pickle. The Punjabi Junction’s Thali (meaning 'platter', a meal made up of a selection of various dishes) is great for any diner wanting to try several different dishes. Just a short 10 minute walk from Leith Links public park, the restaurant also offers a wide range of curries and a variety of vegetarian dishes. The café’s walls are decorated by a map depicting the train route along India’s spice trail. The restaurant carries with it a strong message of empowerment as it strives to help Sikhs and other ethnic minorities to build skills that enable them to advance.
