Meat is great! The greens slaw corn bread etc overpriced and need a bit of love

Food was overpriced for what it was, had very little taste. The redeming quality was the selection of drinks.

What to say? Exceptional BBQ food. Fullstop.
We had brisket, pulled pork, tater skins, slaw and cornbread and it was all incredible. The cornbread with maple bacon butter is definitely worth a mention!
Amazing range of cocktails and other bevvies and we cannot fault the staff, all taking the right precautions due to covid but still providing excellent service.
We can't wait to return!

This restaurant is in a pretty random place but it was great. Went with a couple of friends and the food was delish and really took me back to my time in America. Pretty standard prices for a meal. Only feedback would be that parking is difficult and the seats are uncomfortable. It’s a cool idea to have barrels as tables but they’re not practical for leg room.

Great food as always and good selection of beers and spirits as well.

We made a booking on the spot as there were tables available outside and there were three tables available.

After making a booking we ordered and then were told me had to move by the manager.

Nice place, 1.2 hours for food to come out was a bit average, no offer of a free drink or such. Entre then come out with the main meal !!

Horrible service experience. Never got to try the food as it never came. Waited over an hour with the place barely a quarter full and was told it was because of a problem with the printer. Poor excuse when the staff are joking around and having shots behind the bar. The menus are food stained and tables sticky.

Good quality BBQ. Good range of local beers.

Disappointed. Menus were dirty. Not all tables set. Covid sheet non-compliant. Service was however friendly but she was unable to keep up. Food was very disappointing. Pork belly was deep fried and dry, sausages were burnt and overcooked, coleslaw bland...kitchen staff member brought out food with no cutlery which we had to help ourselves to off another table.

First off - this is a great restaurant, with authentic and delicious American food (wings, ribs, etc) and the wine/alcohol list is great. I've eaten here before with just one or two other people, and it's been fine. Lunch time seems less stress/more relaxed.

We came as a larger group (9 people) and I was disappointed in the wait time from ordering to getting our first bite of food (over an hour!). Also the music was super loud (we sat inside) so wasn't conducive to a 'celebration'/gathering of friends as we could only talk to/hear the person next to us.

Can't fault the quality of food - just the prep and timing. Looks like only two in the kitchen serving a full restaurant, causing a huge delay in service. Starters come out with the mains so that's another thing - you're waiting a long time to get everything at once.

Great meat and extensive menu. Great range of beers on the menu but none available when we visited.

Food was amazing, some thought the chicken was undercooked, I couldn’t decide on that. Great taste, great vibe, outdoor “barrel” tables are a little impractical though. Overall definitely recommend, and will be back

Unfortunately the brisket was dry and overcooked. Raised concern to the page through instagram and was told that I would get a response but never did.

The brisket and blueberry burnt ends are a must!!!

Great food and great beers - can't ask for more than that! Loved everything that we ordered and the Burnt Ends were outstanding. Can't wait to return with the whole family and try some of the other offerings.

The service was terrible, if I ever eat from there again, I'll be using a delivery service. It was a joke how poorly they performed

Great food, great atmosphere and great staff!

Food was amazing! Absolutely delicious! Brisket was perfectly smoked.

Disappointing. Was hoping to find a good joint that served some quality meat but I guess I will have to keep looking. Average at best nothing special. The waiter did not write down our order and got it wrong. Items on the menu are pricey compared to the portion size. Cornbread was the only good thing we had. Shame really as this place has a lot of potential.

Great food and drinks along with great service.

Was really looking forward to trying this restaurant, as the menu sounded amazing. We got a full rack of ribs, brisket, corn bread, greens, end pieces & potato skins. My gosh, the burnt ends pieces in that sauce were amazing, the brisket was fall apart tender & had a delicious flavour. The corn bread was light & fluffy & so damn tasty. The potato skins, do I need to say more. All of that was amazing, but the greens didn't have much flavour & the ribs which were meant to be the star of the show, were very disappointing. It seemed they were cooked to quickly, no a slow & low cook. They were still pink instead, very tough to cut & then pull of the bone. I love my ribs that the meat nearly falls of the bone but these were very tough & actually quiet dry. I didn't end up eating the ribs, as everything else was delicious, but it was very disappointing, especially since we got a full rack. Not sure if we will go back yet, as it was very our wedding anniversary celebration & wasn't as special as we thought it was going to be.

Food was great, Service was great. Had a really good evening.

If you're a BBQ and/or an American Whiskey fan then I highly recommend Proof BBQ & Booze. Tasty BBQ and more whiskey than you could possible try.

I loved that smell of woodsmoke when you walk in. Great food, great drinks, atmosphere and staff were great too. Lots of whiskeys to choose from if that’s your thing, I had a lovely whisky sour. Sometimes Bbq can be oily but this wasn’t one bit! It was perfect! The chicken breast was also tender and juicy! The boys loved the hot sauce but my favourite was the blueberry burnt ends. 10/10 would come back again it’s a shame I live 40 minutes away otherwise I’d be back every week.

We tried most things on the menu, the brisket was dry, the pork ribs were tasty, but didn't pull clean from the bone. The fried chicken was great, the slaw was way too spicy, we were warned the links would be too spicy, but were very mild. The corn bread was the winner for the night, even though it was way to pricey for what you got. But the whiskey list was amazing!! If you want to try some good whiskey, go here, with a big wallet!!

When I booked for outdoor seating I was a little surprised to be seated at the bar, Right next to where the servers were getting all their cups and cutlery etc from... was a little hard to talk on our date night.. but that was really the only disappointment for the night, food and service was good, maybe a little on the pricey side for the side dishes.

Great service and tasty food. We had brisket and ribs and they tasted awesome. Collared greens are worth trying and the banoffee dessert is really good. If I was being really picky I would say that the brisket was a little cold, and the greens a bit on the salty side. The design of the bar is pretty cool and avoids hanging number-plates everywhere like some other places do. Outside you can't avoid the fact you are on a busy road, but I would definitely eat here again. I've already recommended it to a few friends.

I've never been a rib fan. They have always been dry, sinewy or mostly bone but I'm a convert. My fellow diner invited me to try his and I've been missing out. Absolutely tender and delicious. Accompanied with fine whisky and attentive service, we'll most definitely return soon.

There was something wrong with the music which irritated my 15 year old and 24 year old grandchildren. A song would just start then stop then another song would start playing then stop. It was as if someone decided they didn’t like the song’s and would skip to the next one. The music was what was entertaining my grandchildren, trying to guess who the band was.

Fantastic food, if you like American bbq, don’t hesitate just go! Go with friends and order a bit of everything to share it is totally worth it trust me, you will go back.
