Mona Trattoria, a family-operated Italian restaurant that operated for some 30 years, followed after the home was converted to a restaurant. In 2002, actor Stanley Tucci bought it and renamed it Finch Tavern, renovating it with dark wood shutters and soft yellow banquettes that feel fresh today. In 2006, Jimmy Gjevukaj and his family took over the premises and relaunched the restaurant as Primavera, continuing the tradition of fine Italian dining in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
As always Jimmy the manager working under stressful circumstances with Corona virus still had staff and kitchen well prepared. Tables were separated, staff was attentive but was obviously giving extra space to patrons. Food spectacular as always. Even got a Happy Birthday song from singing waiter (sorry maybe Tom but not sure) . Will definitely be back soon
The food is fresh and so delicious. Their fish is fresh and seasoned to perfection. They are more than happy to attend to the customer's requests. Whether you dine in or take out you won't be disappointed!
Nice quiet meal with good service in a lovely old mansion.
A gem of Westchester.
Great service, excellent food. Loved the quiet ambiance.
Meh. Great spot. Food disappointing. Service seems scattered and unorganized
We were dining here with the intent to Book a private party. Service was great and attentive, atmosphere is lovely but the food was disappointing. I ordered a scallop dish because I love risotto. My risotto was white rice with mushrooms, my salad was ice cold and under dressed and the veal dish my husband tried was just ok. They have an amazing reputation but our experience was mediocre I am very sad to say.
This is our local Italian Restaurant, and it continues to provide excellent food, always.
This Saturday, it was very crowded, a measure of its reputation. The food continued to be delivered hot, tasty, good as always. The Kitchen was a little slower, as the kitchen maintained its usual quality Fish is a specialty, and the man next to me devoured the whole Bronzino, practically licking his chops. The baked clams, calimari, several types of fish are perfection. 'Nuff Said.
I’ll begin by stating this is my first review I have written. The first frustration was finding a parking spot. We ended up parking on the grass as there were no spots remaining. Once in the restaurant we waited 45 minutes for our reserved table. To the restaurants favor, they compped us an after dinner drink for our wait. Once seated we became invisible. Bread was plopped on the table with some olives and we didn’t see anyone for another 15 minutes after we flagged down the maitre d. Food was acceptable. Two dishes came out lukewarm but we were not about to send it back.
Bottom line, it was a really off night for the restaurant and staff. Too many great restaurants to return to this one.
This restaurant is a local favorite we frequent often. The food selection is great and is always delicious, and it didn’t disappoint tonight. Service is usually good as well. Unfortunately Tonight seemed to be an off night.
Nice atmosphere, good service but the food is too heavy, creamy. No subtlety at all.
It’s been excellent From front door
Maître d’ ,.. waitress stuff
Highly recommend it
Definitely will be back
You MUST order the scallops and risotto, delish!!!
Lovely restaurant in beautiful old building. Food and service were top notch!
We really enjoyed dining at Primavera! Our wait person was extremely solicitous and aimed to please. The food was great; fresh and plentiful.. Will look forward to returning!
Although it was a crowded New Years Eve dinner, the staff was professional and personal spending more then adequate time with our party. It was yam excellent evening
New Years Eve. Every table was taken and in spite of the the service was great.
The Hist was gracious and we were seated within
5 min of arrival.
The food was delicious.
Looking forward to our next visit.
We had a lovely dinner , food very good. However we were seated next to a loud boisterous group which made our conversation difficult. I felt large groups should be seated in a corner of the restaurant instead of right in the middle where everyone is forced to listen to them. I would return for all the other good reasons but more aware who I’m seated next to.
Eaten here many times. The service has always been exceptional, and one is never rushed. The perfect place for a group of people, to relax, eat well, and have pleasant conversation.
The last three times. i have been to this restaurant the service has been absolutely terrible. short staffed, slow and they can’t seem to get it together. It’s a shame because the food is fantastic
The service was focused and terrific on what was obviously a busy evening. The food was well prepared and serviced timely. The consistency with which this restaurant operates is well above the norm. My recommendation is to given them a try as you will not be disappointed based on my experiences with them.
We dine here all the time for all kinds of occasions ranging from special birthdays, romantic dinners and nights out with friends. The staff is always warm, attentive and accomodating. The menu offers a wide selection, and never disappoints. The quality of the food is excellent. The halibut is a go to dish for me, as well as the lump crabmeat appetizer. My husband LOVES the chicken Parm. We have had many dishes and all have been excellent. This night we had our business holiday dinner, and all attending were very pleased with our choice to host at Primavera. My only wish, was that the bar area debuted new weekly/monthy crafted cocktail specials. I would like a little more variety there. They offer a complete bar, and the cocktail menu is great too. I just love trying new, unique concoctions. Overall this is an all time, local favorite for us. So happy we have an outstanding restaurant like Primavera in our neck of the woods :). We will definitely be back. They also offer valet parking because it does get crowded, we aren't the only ones who love Primavera. The parking attendant is super friendly and professional as well!
Great quality food that came out quickly. Absolutely loved the Rigatoni Bolognese. Staff was very friendly.
Very nice dining in restored mansion near I-684 in Croton Falls. Good value with lunch menu, less so with dinner where everything is a la carte. However, nicer atmosphere than most other Italian restaurants in this area. Very good service.
We went during Restaurant Week and the place was not overcrowded. Staff friendly and helpful. They forgot our appetizer and brought the entrees first, so they held the entrees until we received and had the appetizers. Then the entrees came within seconds. Food was good.
Everything was fantastic, food, service, ambiance. We were here to celebrate a birthday and could not have been more pleased. Thank you for a truly enjoyable evening!
From the moment we sat down the service was poor. Bread was put on the table with no butter or olive oil. We had to ask three times before we finally got butter. Long wait to order and when we finally ordered we realized we had the lunch and not the dinner menu. It took the waiter four times before he was finally successful in making sure that both my husband and I had dinner menus. Nobody ever checked on us to see if everything was ok once food was served. Long wait before we were able to even get someone’s attention so we could request the check. Had to ask more than once before we finally received the check. Such a shame as the food was pretty good and they have a huge menu.
Ok poor service that day. My husband and I were the only ones there and the waiter put us on a table with no place settings and we had a reservation the day before. The waiter was just talking by the bar. Another person came and brought us water after a while and was shocked no place settings there, not even a menu book.
Daughter visiting from college
Waited long time to get menus, to order and didn’t get Wine list!
Was almost impossible for anyone to take our order. This was a Birthday celebration. We asked to have a special dessert presented to the Birthday guest. That never happened. Drink refills that were ordered were never served. We were told that they were busy with private parties. Well I’m sorry what you mean to say is that you were under staffed. No excuse. The food that was finally served was good. But poor service ruins the dining experience.
Really enjoyed our dinner with friends at Primavera. Never rushed. We sat for an hour after dining before asking for our check. Attentive polite service. Very good Filet of Salmon Franchese, dessert was great, un-named house wine was good, shrimp cocktail excellent. Would definitely return
Celebrated my 70th Birthday! The escargot and my branzino were delicious as always! The oysters, lobster bisque, and Chicken Cutlet topped with fresh salad was wonderful. Pasta with lobster, shrimp, clams was also enjoyed. This is our go to special occasion restaurant. The waiter Joe sang Happy Birthday as well as a Frank Sinatra tune. Great voice and made my birthday even more special!
My husband I celebrated our 35th Anniversary dinner at Primavera. The food was good but considering the restaurant was nearly empty the service was slow. We wanted coffee and dessert but decided against it because they took too long. I would go again but hope for better service.
Primavera is a very welcoming restaurant
Family run by Jimmy, Swen and Jack
The service is outstanding and the food is extremely well prepared
My favorite is the Seafood and pasta far diavolo
I haven’t been to the restaurant a few years. That night was very busy but we got seated pretty quickly. Service was very slow and the food was disappointing. There was a lot of complaining from other tables and everyone there were very unhappy. Hopefully it was only one bad night but I will not go back.
Very attractive place. Food was good, some very good. Portions were inconsistent. Rack of lamb was a very large portion (full rack). Scallop entree came with 4 scallops, 2 were on the small side. Prices were a little high. Almost $200 for dinner for 2 including entree, 1 cocktail ($15 for an Old Fashioned!) and 1 glass of wine each, inc. tax less than 1 hour for dinner.
Had we been seated anywhere but in the bar, we would have given this restaurant better ratings but, we were seated in the bar and were not happy!!! Food is great. Ask for the main dining room!
