Press* Food & Wine
We were on a girls weekend in Adelaide and had a wonderful dinner at Press. The food, staff and ambience were all outstanding. Would highly recommend.
Only thing to change - the photo on the booking page made me think that I was booking a table in the upstairs area and not the high tables on the bottom floor. If this were fixed I'm sure others wouldn't make the same mistake.
Our 31st anniversary. A wonderful night, from food and drink to service.
Staff were attentive and with good knowledge of products
We went there with friends to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Upon filling out the booking form, I was asked if our booking was for a special occasion. I ticked the anniversary box. Nothing was mentioned when we were there :(. The atmosphere was great. Loved the booth style seating. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Food was amazing. We chose the tasting menu. Oh...my...gosh....best bloody option, we had the best of all worlds. Lol. A perfect night to share with friends (while leaving the kids at home). Haha. Thanks Press :)
We went there for my girlfriend’s birthday. The dinner was delicious and the waiter so lovely.
the girl with curly hair took care of us throughout the dinner and she was really kind.
Will be back :)
Venue was great, totally relaxed with a terrific setting. We had a table of three and were seated upstairs which was very nice. Being our first experience at the restaurant without much guidance from our waiter we decided to go with the tasting table $75 pp. after expressing our ideas for food preferences we received 2 entrees to share followed by nothing for an hour. Being a little confused we queried with the waiter what was happening.....he then apologised and we received 2 more entrees followed by 2 mains. We felt we were very much under feed for the price and walked away very disappointed.
My partner and I had a great experience. Service was exceptional and food was absolutely beautiful. Could possibly suggest to add a bottle or two of wine that is a bit more affordable. We would certainly go back, however the wine is just too expensive, putting the meal out of affordability for us. Thank you for having us though.
Superb food great wine list lovely ambience intelligent but non intrusive waiters - just a perfect night out
The tasting menu is great value and skips the hard decision of which dish to select
We really enjoyed our evening at press. We were lucky enough to be seated in an upstairs booth, which added to the experience. Everybody enjoyed the food thoroughly and aside from having to wave down the waiter a few times, the service overall was excellent and knowledgeable.
Tailored the luncheon tasting menu to suit our tastes and preferences - food was amazing!
Beautiful food, atmosphere, service and great drink options.
Had a great night, you tried really hard to help my friend who unfortunately is low FODMAP, thanks, you were very understanding, she still had fun, glad I’m not a chef because that request must be an absolute nightmare! 🙈
Was charged for still water - who charges for still water??? And they charged for two bottles at $6 per bottle when we only had one. And they charged for bread, which we didn't ask for. Very average.
The tasting menu was thoughtfully constructed and beautifully executed. Supported by a broad enough wine list to satisfy the most demanding palate.
We had the tasting menu, excellent selection and variety of food, plenty of it. Tasty and original, service that wasn't rushed or insistent. A really excellent meal and experience.
The pork buns were delicious, as was my lamb dish, but the pigs ears needed to be crunchier! We made a booking, which meant we were put upstairs - the ambience was better downstairs and given it was a quiet Tuesday lunch, it would’ve been better to be downstairs.
Small serves and waitress was pushy in upselling bottle of wine
I had the opportunity to eat dinner at several restaurants while in Adelaide and this one was disappointing. Service was great, wine was excellent, but the food was over-salted and over-spiced.
Great place for lunch or dinner especially if you're lucky enough to get one of the private booths upstairs! Always fantastic food and service!
Great food generally and a very cluey waiter. Gave a 4 star not 5 as my Coorong Mulloway was very salty (oversalted!). Other people had it too but their fish was OK. Also the lighting is far too dim. We were unable to read our menus. Either the menus need to be printed in bold or the lights turned up. Overall a good night.
Our first time dining at Press and we weren’t disappointed. We left our choices in the hands of the chef, and chose the $75 feed me menu.
Every dish that came out was perfect! We still can’t believe how good the mashed potato was!
Definitely recommend and we will be back!
Our server (Cameron?) was fantastic too!
Thanks for a great birthday dinner :)
very relaxing and responsive service, adapted to our need for a quick lunch. Food was great.
Delicious fresh food, great local wines & excellent service.
Will be back!
The food was excellent, as was the selection of drinks. A very lively and happy ambience. Great service to top it off.
Fantastic experience. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. Excellent venue for a couple or group.
The food and staff where nothing short of excellent, anyone looking for modern Australian cuisine would be hard pressed to find anywhere better in Adelaide.
We absolutely love Press!!
I catch up with my girlfriends here ever May (4th year and counting) and they never disappoint. Super accommodating to dietary requirements as one of us is always pregnant and the vegetarian food is always delicious. We always chose the feed me menu and amazing food always arrives.
See you next May Press.
Excellent birthday feed. The 1kg Dry Aged Rib Eye was to die for!
Everything was wonderful. The beef tartare was different than any I've had before and it was delicious. My snapper was cooked perfectly and the potato mash was smooth, creamy and amazing. My husband's steak frites dinner was beautiful. Wish I lived there so I could go more often!
We dined as a small group and had the tasting menu. Everyone in our group loved the food. The service was very good too. We were very happy
Consistent restaurant. Always an enjoyable meal. Interesting choice of gins. Great service, just the right amount of interaction
We had a table upstairs and ordered the smoked fish entree, the Uraidla chicken, and the fish of the day (snapper) with some sides. Although the meals were a little pricey, the food was delicious and the dishes were all quite generous sizes. The brussel sprouts were a little undercooked and tough to cut into but were still very tasty. The atmosphere upstairs was relaxing and although it was busy, it still felt intimate. I took a star off because it was a bit cold and I had to keep my winter coat on throughout the evening. We were served by Mel, who was lovely and very attentive.
Amazing food, fantastic service, will go back without doubt
Delicious food & very pleasant waiter who really knew his wines
Had the shared meal. Very much enjoyed the combination of flavours etc.
Extremely good experience however I would say the staff didn’t need to top up our water so often as glasses were half full and it appeared they just needed something to keep them busy.
We enjoyed our experience in general. Staff were lovely and helpful.
Food was really lovely but noise level did get high when the place filled up. Not sure there’s much you can do about that given the acoustics of the building.
In general we were pretty happy with it.
Tasting menu was poor quality for $75. Lacking in imagination.
