Post - COMO The Treasury Ratings and Reviews
We went to Post for our last meal before returning home from our family trip to WA. We managed to book using OpenTable two days before for an early dinner with our three kids (5, 7 and 9).
Post is set inside the new Como The Treasury Hotel in Perth. We have visited other Como properties before and this was no different - spartan, cool, hip whilst welcoming. The restaurant itself had a beautiful vibe and was beautifully decorated with a nordic feel. They immediately made us feel at home and we felt no pretence nor any issues with having our kids at the restaurant.
-Kids menu was fantastic - options were plentiful and the food was delicious (although the kid's steak fillet was overdone).
-The service staff, led by Francois, was amazing with great knowledge of not only the wines on the list, but also the wineries around the Margaret River area.
-The burata salad, the lamb and the tiramisu were three of the highlights on the main menu, which were all exquisite in presentation and taste. The lamb, especially, was worthy of extra praise as it was flavoured beautifully and executed with perfection to be melt-in-your-mouth.
-the wine list was decent but very much skewed to Australian wines but we did manage to get a decent bottle of bordeaux to refresh our palates after a week of wine tasting in Margaret River.
-the beef fillet on special was overcooked to a medium when we asked for a medium-rare
Overall, it was a magical experience in a gorgeous space with amazing service. Definitely recommended but the cost was not cheap.
Good range of starters and mains, really great food and one of the best service in Perth, if not the best. However the sweet potato chips and onion rings (sides) were overcooked, and tasted as if they had been left in the heat for some time. Nice wines at good prices.
Went for a colleagues birthday. Décor is beautiful and spacious. Food was amazing, came out quickly. Staff were knowledgeable and very friendly. Had the best duck I think I have ever tasted. Would definitely return, and have recommended to many since we went.
Lovely staffs and venue, unfortunately the service was a bit of let down. Wine list was not offered, incorrect menu was brought and complimentary bread was forgotten. Foods plately nicely but taste wise was not outstanding! Undoubtedly was a stunning and comfortable restaurant, hopefully the foods and service quality can catchup!
Great service and food. Good wine list by the glass as well as bottle. Clean. Whole building architecture is fabulous and very well renovated. A few bars in same building notably cocktail bar Halfords were excellent. One negative: only one toilet in ladies bathroom outside of restaurant with a lengthy queue. Overall a wonderful experience. Well done.
I had read of this restaurant and decided to try it out for breakfast after trying petition on a previous day. I found the service to be too slow and unresponsive . The meal room too long and was ok. The juice was delicious and came first . The buffet lacked any hot foods so went for the scrambled eggs off the a la carte menu instead. Serving was very small .
The food was awesome, ate the Steak Tartare for entree and Fish for mains. They were both extraordinary. The cheese platter for dessert was boringly presented.
Service was poor initially by one young lady who mixed up our meals and spilt our drinks but the other staff were on Pat with a fine dining restaurant.
There needs to be more artwork on the walls because the place looks dull and lacks ambiance
On my first visit to Post I was impressed by the surroundings. The food was beautifully presented and the lamb I had was a good serving. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The wine matched our dinners of lamb and beef. We have eaten in many lovely restaurants including London, Italy and Abu Dhabi. This restaurant ranks right up there with them.
It was my first dining experience & I was very surprised at how wonderful the food was! So healthy, light & super tasty!! I had the "big salad" for entree & it was one of the best salads I have ever eaten. Followed by the chicken - OMG WOW! Wasn't sure what the grey dollops were but they were delicious & connected/complimented everything on the plate.Finished my meal with the amazingly awesome chocolate caramel tart with espresso mouse. Seriously one of the best meals I have had in a long time!
I took my best friend for a belated birthday lunch. We both had the lamb and it could not be faulted. The Brussel sprouts were to die for. We couldn't decide which dessert to have so we shared the lemon cheese cake and the date pudding. Both were amazing. My friend is a serious foodie and is hard to impress. Post succeeded in doing this and some. Our waitperson was fabulous. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. Eating there was special to me too. I worked in the building in the 70's.
What truly stood out at Post Restaurant was the service; the waitress who attended to us was so friendly, cheerful, polite and informative, making good recommendations.
The food was good, but what seems more memorable was the service and the ambience (luckily a very loud American couple next to us, departed not long after we arrived!)
A good experience but the food may need a little more attention.
Pleasant Sunday lunch - the duck was moist and pleasant, perhaps less of the fat for our taste, but easily left aside. The kingfish was also very tasty. It is unfortunate that vegetables/greens are an extra when there is so little with the main.
Strawberry cheesecake was very good, slightly sweet to our taste. Apple tart OK, lacked a tart case. Chocolate cake was very good.
Wine list catered for glass, quite reasonable selection.
Service was excellent, attentive and friendly.
