Port Office Hotel Dining Room
With a variety of dining areas available to suit guests for private business meetings to long languid lunches - the dining room is open for lunch and dinner, Monday to Saturday from 11.30am till late.
The menu is a modern take on Australian gastro-pub food with subtle European influences.

Maybe when someone orders the duck, asking how you would like it cooked would go a long way, as mine was blue in the middle and very tough. The rest of our meal was quite nice though.
Food was beautiful but I don’t think the prices are warranted for the location/decor etc
Service was attentive and quick
Steak wasn’t cooked to order both - medium to medium well, both ordered medium rare. One starter came out cold in the middle - which was quickly re-done but still disappointing. Waitstaff were friendly and attentive. Wouldn’t rush back.
The service from the front of house and wait staff was excellent. Delicious food and dessert, great bar/restaurant setup too!
Great time. Delicious food - definitely have the duck spring rolls!!
Excellent Pub Restaurant on par with the best in Melbourne.
One of the best dining experiences in Brisbane. Highly recommended.
Had a great dining experience with family. Food was fantastic.
$50 loading on a bottle of wine generally throughout the wine list is too much. No longer value
$32 bottle of Yarra Valley Pinot noir on the wine list for $89.... ????
The food was incredible - steak was cooked to perfection and the flavours were exceptional. Not giving 5 stars because the service went downhill towards the end of the night, water glasses weren't refilled and we couldn't find anyone to get the bill.
Hi Wends, thanks so much for taking the time to review us, we are so glad you enjoyed the food. I will definitely pass on your feedback regarding our service as this isn't quite up to the standards we set. We hope to welcome you back again soon though.
Took my partner in crime on Saturday and had a great time...would do again in a heartbeat.
Thanks for the great review Dean! We hope to see you (and your partner in crime) again soon.
Food and service was exceptional. If anything meals came out too quickly but that’s better than the alternative
Great night excellent food and service a dining pleasure
ambience is not that fancy but the food and service is definitely wonderful
Booked for Valentines Day Dinner
We decided to go with set Valentines Dinner for $85 per person.. glass of French champagne or beer
Shared entrees (3) was amazing!!!
Humous and toasted ciabatta
Mango salsa type with fresh queen pawns ahhh fabalicious
Carpaccio of some meat was yummy too my fav was mango salsa with prawns and it was so well decorated with spinach leaves cut out of hearts... Chef at least had some romance there!! Thank you I appreciated!!!
Mains OMGgg choice of
Rib Steak, Duck and Fish
I always go fish so I lashed out and had the steak because partner was having the duck and I knew I would get a taste... the steak was so good just ridiculous how could it be this bloody good really I wanted to go kiss the Chef but I did manage to restrain myself phew 😘 for Chef (Scottish guy apparently).
Partners duck was 10/10 just couldn’t get any better because I got to have some.
Dessert... I was stuffed but set menu what can I saw.. cheese platter for Moir what small was fine (2 cheeses and crackers very generous plus black grapes) honestly was fine!! Partner had so
Hazelnut mousse type thing with ice cream seemed okay I wasn’t excited to taste it but looked fine and he ate it!
Service the BEST waiter Matt (with two Ts he said) what a beautiful funny entertaining guy management you are lucky to have this man on your team of Avengers!!! Thanks Matt for looking me and Scottish hubby!!! You gave the bubbles to my champagne I giggled like a 15 year old 😝
Sadly the only thing I could pick was ambience not very romantic at all.. no flowers candles table clothes etc balloons to Bruce Up! The place but hey!! I paid or hubby did for the food ... actually one nice detail we did get a Ferrero Rocher at the end of dining and one out the door!!!
Honestly we have been expats abroad for 15+ years plus so I know a bit about fine dining plus being Spanish and love cooking HUGELY recommend The Port Office. Asta la vista baby!!! 😘
Regular group that have been catching up for the last 10 years at different restaurants around the SEQ area. We rated the Port Office Hotel as one of the most enjoyable.
I took 2 clients to lunch who had not been to the Port Office before for lunch. Having a wide range of restaurant venues to choose from i chose the Port Office as I was confident they would enjoy the experience. They were pleasantly surprised and very much enjoyed the quality of the food, wine, service and ambience. I am sure they will return.
Firstly we love the Port Office Restaurant. It is serene, ambient and classy. The Menu when we went was a shortened Menu due to the main Chef being away. It was simple and not amazing. However the food was well executed and flavoursome so there were no complaints. Our waiter was excellent with both service and personality. There is a good wine list of inexpensive to overly so and also good quality ones. We will always come back.
We arrived to dinner on Christmas Eve 4 adults and 3 children. Looking around, there wasn’t a sign of any Christmas decorations. Very disappointing especially for the kids.
Poor ambiance, no children’s menu. Pretentious waiter.
We ordered 4 serves of rib fillets medium rare, and they were inconsistent with the order.
We Were really looking forward to the wagyu steak, and as soon as we were seated were told that they ran out of it.
The salad portion was very minimal.
Also, the wine we wanted was not available.
Why bother opening at all on Christmas Eve?
Very happy. Excellent Veal Cutlet. Would go back anytime.
First visit was so impressed, had to return
Very happy with the delicious food and great service. The duck breast dish was spectacular.
Unfortunately there were some noisey Xmas parties the night of our dinner. We were however seated as far away as possible from the bar area so were able to talk without yelling.
The batter on the calamari was like concrete and the dipping sauce unpleasant. Also one of the lamb ribs was nothing but fat. Before the fire it was great. Now its bad. Really bad. Won’t come back ever.
Was Recommended this restaurant but disappointed. really nothing special, looks tired, service friendly but not very professional, the 2 starters, bread and pork crackle was awful, had 2 steaks and the duck, everything cooked perfectly and tasted great, but not inspiring or to rave about, really a streak on a plate with some lettuce and a bowl of chips. With so many steak places to try, i would go somewhere else.
Staff were wonderful. Food amazing. Exceptional evening
Good location, good food, good staff. Will come again.
We have been there a number of times over the years and enjoyed it. This time was terrible. Pork Crackling only fit for the rubbish bin, a tooth breaker at best. Potatoes looked and tasted like they had been cooked a couple of days ago. My husband's seafood rissotto had bits of prawn legs etc as though the stock had not been properly strained. Service was slow and the restaurant was only about a third full.
A great venue. Not pretending to be something it's not.
Unfortunately we were not in the more private dining room where we had dined previously, and were somewhat overwhelmed by the noisy crowd of Rugby fans watching the international game on the screen. We had not been alerted to this when booking. While the meals were good, the menu was not that available on line which was disappointing. One of our group's meal order was also overlooked so he had to wait a further 20 minutes for his meal. Staff were very apologetic and he wasn't charged for his meal.
Had a lovely night for the wife's Birthday with my adult children. Fantastic service from the moment we walked with a smile. Food choices was great and was really appreciated when asked when we finished our entree on the timing for our main. Nothing seem to be difficult to help with assistance with the wine choice as well as the little extra special treatment for the wife. Can not talk high enough and will be recommending to others.
Get the scallops - delicious. Great service and high standard of dining.
Brilliant! Thanks to the Maitre D and her awesome team.
I really enjoy the Sweetbread entrée and the Bouillabaisse was better than a couple of French places in town that offer probably my favourite meal for main last Friday night, unfortunately the bride was not as impressed with hers, she ordered for entrée the bug dish "a tiny portion lacking any flavour of bug..." followed by the veal cutlet which was like a baby tomahawk but was raw and cold on the inside.
Service very good, nice ambience. Now not that it was asked for but the maître D automatically took the price of the cutlet off our order which was appreciated but not expected. So from a little disappointed we end up with a average experience.
So this was our second visit to the Port Office our first was an 11/10 so this visit was disappointing but everyone can have a miss so we will be back.
The lamb cutlets were very good; the entree of ribs not so, especially the heavy use of chilli in the salad. Probably wouldnt return.
My favourite restaurant in Brisbane. I always come here when im in town... always hits the mark! :-)
There are a few things that need some attention. There was no cocktail menu at the bar which is unusual when marketing for a more fine dining experience. The wait staff seemed very busy so another person on shift would have been helpful. We received our oysters and our entrees at the same time which was fine with us but very unusual. Fortunately there was a decent break before our main meal was served. The air conditioning was also set a little warm. Aside from these things the food was fantastic and the serves very generous and the wait staff were lovely if not rushed.
Lovely fine dining experience for couples, family and friends! We were pleasantly surprised at the open atmosphere which included large families with children. The proprietor and floor managers were equally matched by Maximo, the bar staff and other servers in service and professional. The food was excellent with just some small thoughts on improvement. Warm atmosphere makes this a restaurant well worth going to again.
It's great to have the the Port Office back on line after a lengthy refurb. Food is as good as ever, although I miss the slow oven, but the steak is top quality. Pleasant and attentive service and a very lively atmosphere. Excellent wine list and while it's not the cheapest restaurant it is good value for the high quality offering. Definitely recommended and I will definitely be back there on my next trip. The pub is also a great place to hang out with great bar food.
Overall we had a great night and excellent service.
