will revisit, very friendly stuff, and they do remember you, makes you feel valued.
Everything was amazing, the food, the venue, the waitress. Will definitely be visiting again and recommending to everyone.
Great location and friendly staff who were very attentive, met with friends who were visiting from Europe and a good time was had by all.
The cost of water, valued at $9 and with no prior knowledge to it was a complete rip off! The food was quite lovely and filling, and came within a decent amount of time. Just considering the value of water, I’m quite weary of returning.
Wonderful food and lovely service - will go back soon!
Attended recently for birthday celebration. Was blown away by the service and quality of food. Beautiful view over the river. Would definitely return.
We celebrated our one-year anniversary at Popolo and had a fantastic time. Our server Sara made sure we were well looked after and the food was faultless!
Our family of 7 had an amazing night celebrating 3 birthdays. The food was fabulous. The staff were friendly happy and attentive. We were seated in a beautiful area with a view of the river. 10/10.
Always an incredible experience at Popolo, which is why I’ll always go back.
Incredible food and outstanding service.
One of the best, if not the best restaurant in South Bank
A fantastic dinner. Completely recommend to other. We will definitely return!
Me and my friends had a really nice time during our dinner. The food was really good, and everyone thought it was a good value for money. We went quite early in the night so not many people were there, but it made for a nice, quite dinner. Overall, we all had a really good time, and are more than likely to come back :)
Popolo were very accommodating to our large group (11 people) by allowing us to split the bill by item. The food was delicious and it’s a wonderful location.
We had a lovely Saturday lunch with old friends from Childers we had not seen in a very long time. The staff were helpful and welcoming and very keen to make sure we were given water and ice almost immediately after we sat down as it was indeed a warm afternoon. I asked for suggestions from the menu and the wait staff were most helpful with choices and order of food. The food arrived in a timely yet well paced.
Fantastic family dinner, the outlook is always fantastic from an outside table. The food and drinks were superb and the service extremely efficient and friendly. Loved the experience.
We always enjoy dining at Popolo restaurant due to the fantastic food and ambiance, also it is a perfect location.
We love this restaurant. We’ve been many times and will go many times more. Brilliant service and scrumptious food.
Popolo is always consistent and lovely food. The outlook is beautiful. We had a great night.
Great night at Popolos, food was delicious and the service was very good.
Attentive but unobtrusive service, amazing views, great cocktail list and wonderful food. Worth every cent, and a favourite for catching up with friends and watching the world go by.
Great food and great location, but.... the 'sticky' cane chairs could really do with a good scrub. They felt like babies high chairs that hadn't been cleaned for a few weeks1
We had birthdays to celebrate, and it certainly was the right choice. A very special place to be.
Great flavours. Friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Worth the price. Will definitely be back again.
My waitress was an Italian woman, with a a tattoo on the back of her neck. She was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The main reason I liked it so much was because of her. Phenomenal work.
We love Popolo. It is in a great spot, the staff are lovely and the food is always magnificent.
A very relaxed evening with great food and service. Great value.
Amazing Italian food, great service and a perfect view!
Service is not great as it is focused on getting you in and out for the next round.
Small meals, and not great value in my opinion.
Fabulous food; attentive, knowledgeable staff; amazing views of the river/city. The small tasting plates were delicious, our waitress ensured our selection of dishes were served as courses so that we could enjoy each meal without being rushed. Thanks for the great service - we will be back.
Great service - just right in fact! Fast without hovering. Excellent and tasty food - good little selection of locally brewed beers.
Service was fantastic and staff went out of their way to ensure mum was spoilt during birthday celebrations.
What can I say, the food is delicious, the service is excellent, never a bad experience when dining here. Thank you Popolo!
Amazing!!! I have been a few times however my 4 other friends went for the first time here & they enjoyed the food, the atmosphere & the staff were so lovely! Will be back!!!
Absolutely fantastic. I have coeliac disease so being able to eat and share exquisite delicious gluten free meals in such a wonderful setting by friendly patient informed staff was simply brilliant. Highly recommend. Many thanks.
This venue never disappoints! No more words required.
Excellent service and quality food! Great buzz to the restaurant! Definitely go back again!
Booking was easy. We arrived on time table was ready. The staff were very helpful. We had 2small share plates and 3large share plates. All the food was very tasty. The view was great. And we all had a fantastic time
Our table overlooked the river (what we requested!) - great service from Sara and her servers, and the food was excellent. We'll come back.
Great service and great food. Try the Pinot Noir if you’re a red fan.
Pre-6pm booking meant our food arrived quite fast. Food was well cooked and seasoned, and presented nicely.
Polpette tasty, nothing incredibly unique about them, but great for those meat-lovers.
Stuffed zucchini flowers had a good amount of filling, and a light, crispy batter. Sadly our request for the Ragu alla Bolognese could not be fulfilled, so we settled for a Pancetta Pizza.
Good choice for those cheesy pizza lovers. Two types of cheese oozing and stringy, nicely cooked (tomato) napoli sauce and a beautifully cooked pizza base.
(On a side note, the pricing of pizzas seemed a bit expensive! )
Also tried their Porchetta, which was beautifully cooked with crispy crackling and melt-in-your-mouth meat, accompanied by the stone fruit compote wish added a nice sweetness to the dish.
Finished with the Pannacotta, which wasn't anything too outstanding, although presented beautifully. The honeycomb was literally honey and a tiny bite of the natural honeycomb, personally not appealing. The fruit compote was a nice, unexpected touch. "Quince" in the form of puree was nicely sweetened. The Pannacotta also nice, but nothing great. Tasted milky, not creamy like expected from a Pannacotta.
Overall the service was friendly and informative. Our waiter was courteous, helpful, but not overbearing.
Except literally told at 8.14pm that we must vacate our table for the next booking at 8.15pm. Working in the industry myself
I can understand the need for table, but would be better if given more notice, perhaps at the beginning when first seated, a polite advance notice and we would have been more than obliged to ensure we didn't linger too long.
There are a number of good Italian places in Brisbane but Popolo, with its great food, excellent staff (many of whom are Italian), and amazing location for people watching on the Brisbane River, is in my Top Three. I love the place for lazy (and long) Sunday lunch
