Pontoon St Kilda Beach
Views/atmosphere and drinks are all amazing. BUT considering the cost of food you’d think the quality would be better than what it is. You’re definitely paying for the views.
Fantastic place to bring your best friend -or dog;-)
Had a lovely night but it’s nothing like the old Stokehouse.
The TVs on gave it a bad vibe!
Overall it was good
a wonderful place to dine. the food was divine. definitely will return
the only tiny brickbat; at 6pm the lights were dimmed for ambience, and that was lovely too, but it was so dark several guests at different tables had to use the torch on their phones to be able to see the menu.
Lovely friendly staff. Very attentive.
The service from start to finish wasn’t very good, from the phone call where one of the waitresses were extremely rude, it wasn’t even busy but they didn’t seem to know what they was doing in there, disappointed with this one.
Fantastic location, incredibly noisy and vibrant with a good selection of delicious, reasonably priced food and drinks.
Food was average & overpriced. Music was ridiculously loud.
All of our mains came out at different times which meant some guests were eating alone or waiting to eat together which meant they had to eat cold meals. Gorgeous views and kind staff which makes our experience all the more disappointing.
Only two pleasant staff with smiles & ‘can do’ attitude. Disappointing really - hardly a hospitable environment. We took pleasure in our table overlooking the beach & bay. The meal was OK but the salad was tired, did not seem fresh. Certainly missed a little table service ... would not return.
Fantastic food and service in a world class location. We dined with two young children and it was extremely family friendly.
We came from Sydney and it was a beautiful experience, particularly with our 7:15pm time slot as we were able to enjoy the beautiful sunset.
Love this place, the only reason I didn't give the service a higher rating was that we had to go to the bar ourselves but that is due to covid, the service was actually awesome and super fast!
Cancelled booking the day before via email saying they “didn’t have a table available”
Was really annoyed as we were coming from out of town and had heard good things about the place. Will not be going here.
the fit-out needs a revamp i.e. booth material is stained and tired.
The food was not good. Not a good menu.
the website is not clear when booking downstairs or upstairs.
On the upside - Phenomenal service, great staff.
Great atmosphere, good service and beautiful view of the beach/sea.
Notice the restaurant has a green star rating for the building which is an added bonus.
On Friday the 26th ,
Me and my partner were really pleased with the quality of food and service was amazing !
Also the view over st Kilda is beautiful I’d highly recommend pontoon to my friends and family!
6/5 stars a perfect evening
We will be looking to check out stokehouse in the coming weeks
Thanks for the perfect date night
I do not usually write reviews. It was really disappointing. It is usually such a great place but we were told at 9pm the kitchen was closed, then at 10pm last drinks. It was a Friday night but felt like a Wednesday night. On a positive note the food was good . It did not feel like the Stoke House. Hopefully they get the good vibes back in the future.
lovely thanks so much!! everyone was very sweet ☺️
A great place to enjoy the beach view and enjoy delicious food & drinks. Service times is something which can be worked upon.
The view was great and nice food and service most enjoyable afternoon
Way too loud, couldn't even hear my friends talking
Great location and service with convenient parking across the road. Food very good.
staff and hospital wasnt not up to scratch.
Had to also go to the bar and wait ages to order dinner.
Had the best day/night, amazing vibe and food and drinks to go with it!
I was expecting the pizza and burger menu on the website but that was only for outside diners. The menu for inside is quite limited. The food wasn't too bad but the service was really slow. Had to ask 3 times for water. The music was on the loud side so having a conversation was somewhat difficult. Probably wouldn't go all the way across town to revisit.
Great vibe, great food and friendly staff. Consistently good.
Perfect setting - menu is particularly limited - not a great choice, it has changed.
Missed the eggplant chips :(
The food is good, but nothing amazing. The service is very friendly and helpful. The place is noisy. I miss the old/original Stokehouse, it had a much nicer and warmer vibe
Overall it was a lovely place, good atmosphere, great service, amazing view of the Sunset
Maybe more food choices
It was annoying to see pizza being made but we couldn’t order one
The dishes weren't replaced after seafood was eaten from it. It wasn't until we asked for fresh plates and cutlery that it was changed, but no oyster spoons were provided. Additionally requests were forgotten about. The food wasn't that great... Not much flavor. The lamb sausage was the best, an outstanding fish. The octopus was overcooked.
Beautiful atmosphere and gorgeous sunset. Exceptional service from the busy waiters
Venue and ambiance is great but unfortunately the service was very slow and we had to call over the waiting regularly for more drinks and assistance
Music too loud we had to scream at each other at the table, sauce on the fish roll was awful and the roll was stale, waited 25 mins before someone asked if we’d like our initial drink. We booked weeks in advance and were sat in a corner that had a wire fence/construction work obstructing our view (the whole purpose of our visit). I was bringing my partner here for the first time as I’ve always had an excellent experience but it was really terrible on this occasion.
The food is fairly average and the cocktails are decent.
Staff was nice and food and drink were great would recommended friends abs family to go
Lovey setting, relaxed and lively with a fabulous view and good food. The music was too loud for us - we had to speak loudly to be heard.
The squid food be cleaned better so it is not so chewy, half the chips were burnt, one skewer of sweet potatoes for $9 is a. It rich, but the coleslaw and flank steak were really good.
Menu was to limited however the food served was lovely
Being the weekends before xmas it was not that busy
Waitresses knew nothing about what the items on the menu included. Bucket of prawns was 6 prawns in a bowl so completely overpriced. Dining area was very glary for those with no sunglasses, and bathrooms were too dark. Suggest ok for clientele aged 18-30, otherwise head upstairs!
Food was amazing and so flavourful, the swordfish was a favourite
