Fond and joyful memories of the rustic and genuine dishes prepared by Giorgio’s grandmother and mother are the inspiration of our hand crafted pasta and our other signature dishes.
Dining at Pompei’s transplants the Venetian backdrop of Giorgio’s childhood into the eclectic surrounds of Bondi Beach. In the main dining room, the cool fresh colours of the shimmering tiles connect with the world famous marine landscape, whilst the adjoining timber paneled dining room evoke the old world cosy “stube” rooms of Cortina.

Food was excellent and good value for money. My only comment was some of the glasses had to be returned to be be rewashed and when the waitress brought out our (home made) birthday cake, she left it in the box .. we had to remove it, light the candles etc.. small issues but these are the nice touches ..overall lovely evening.
The reviews we read before we went there were rather too favorable for the experience we had. The place is somewhat overrated. The service was chaotic and the waitress would forget immediately what we asked for so I would have to go to the counter and ask again and bring it myself to the table (simply: parmesan cheese for the pasta...) She was nice, though - just not professional enough.
Overall: not bad but nothing memorable by far.

Enjoyed our meal. Friendly staff. Very busy on Sat night but didn't have to wait too long for service. Our guests enjoyed it and said they would go back, so that was good.
With the excellent service and good food quality over many years, this remains our family togetherness favourite.
Now our friends, brought in by us, are enjoying the laid back, informal atmosphere, though staying firmly in the higher quality menu category.
For a quieter, easy chat evening occasion, book a little later, when the younger set have had their desserts and taken home.
