French
Pomerol is a locally owned Fremont neighborhood restaurant serving the best northwest ingredients in a French preparation with a wood fired grill and sunny patio.

The restaurant is named Pomerol, not for the famous wines, but for the unique, private, family owned properties that are still operated as they were 100 years ago. The town is tiny, the restaurants are excellent and the craftsmanship of the local people is amazing. We hope to bring that same feel with food, wine, and craft cocktails. A place that you can walk in and have some of the best meats cooked over a grill or fresh produce prepared in a simple beautiful presentation.

Really nice food and well worth the trip. Our server was very young and very nice, but needs to have someone help him get better at the job. It was really quiet on a Saturday night, which given how good the food is, was odd. Also odd that they had run out of both Fois Gras and Brussel sprouts! + No Exrpresso machine... Come on people you are leaving money on the table and I want to spend it with you! :-)

Great date spot. Delicious roasted beets/feta/mint oil small plate, and one of the best lamb burgers I've ever had!

As C says, "Pomerol never disappoints." Pomerol is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always perfectly prepared using fresh. locally-sourced ingredients.

1. The first food arrived 50 minutes after ordering.
2. Food is extremely greasy and blend, nothing had a distinctive taste to go back for.
3. Overpriced for what is being served, portion sizes and ingredient quality.
4. Lamb chops were ordered medium cook, they came almost completely raw not even rare. One of the chops was almost %70 ungendered fat, very poor choice or cuts.
5. 2nd entrée with pork chop served with wood dry chop.
6. Owner saw the issues, especially with the lamb chops, but the dish still got charged on the ticket.
7. Almost all the food was left on the dish, weightier didn't care, he didn't ask if there was a problem with the dish to have a chance to improve.

We enjoyed our Seattle Restaurant Week meal at Pomerol. The new owner is adding new accents to the menu. The Swarma chicken appetizer, heavy with chickpeas, was very filling and the pork chop with apricot was excellent. We had the chocolate espesso pudding and the bread pudding, both tasty, but the bread pudding was my favorite.

Not totally convinced I would go back. The food was fine and well prepared. However, the service was mediocre at best. They took forever to serve me my drink (at least 20 minutes); and then started bringing the other courses we ordered before we had finished the previous one. Very nice atmosphere and lighting, though.

Went there for dinner during restaurant week. Overall the dining area is nice (the room temperature was a bit cold), the service is good, but the food wasn't interesting or very flavorful. For example, they have a wood fired grill that has a prominent spot in their kitchen, but none of our food reflected any of that wood-fired flavor. Nothing about the food made me want to go back.

Chef personal touch to the delicious preparation makes it worth the visit and often. She goes over and above for food preparation and presentation. We tried #Shwana Chicken and Lamb Burger and they both were the best I have tasted over quite sometime. Awesome food and Awesome Host.

We tend to eat early so our reservation was for 6 pm, and at that hour we probably didn't need one. We were somewhat disappointed to learn that due to their being extremely busy the evening before, some items were not available. However, we tried their daily offer and it was very good. The service we received was also very good.

We made a reservation at Pomerol for our anniversary. Our waitstaff was excellent, service was timely, the kitchen was appreciative when I told them how much I enjoyed the Cote de Boeuf while my lovely wife said she enjoyed her lamb even more, and the brioche bread pudding for dessert was wonderful. The owner came out and chatted with us and we signed up for her e-mail list ... I look forward to our next visit!

I have now eaten at Pomerol 4 times and have had very inconsistent experiences. At the core of the issue seems to be the aloof, pompous, stiff attitude of the manager(?) who is always on site. At my most recent dining experience, we were provided with a healthy dose of attitude when the Old Fashioned I ordered didn't taste "right" and I politely asked if they could remake the drink so that it didn't taste watery. The manager said in a huff, "we don't put water in our Old Fashioneds", however when the server returned with my drink I apologized for the inconvenience and said the drink seemed watery but the manager was very short with me when I suggested that might be the case. The server then told me they HAD in fact added carbonated water to my Old Fashioned, so not only was the manager unapologetic and indignant, but was also wrong. This last visit the bread was also stale, and the Shishito peppers were too few and not well prepared. the only redeemable feature is the chef, who can grill a lamp chop beautifully. I will probably skip this place in the future, which is a bummer because I live in the neighborhood.

The restaurant wouldn’t honor their own gift card, claiming their machines no longer read the cards. When presented with the value from receipt they said nothing could be done to process payment.

The gift card was from a friend, for my birthday. Such a poor decision, as I nor my friends and their friends will be returning their for such poor customer service. (Also essentially stealing over $200 from my friend without offering refund of the gift card value...)

My pre-dinner cocktail was excellent and the watermelon salad was also really good. The other four dishes we had were just ok or worse, with one dish being so salty we couldn't eat it. I've had good meals here before so I'm not sure if it was just a bad night, but I won't be going back.

The food was quite good and the service from Sierra was excellent! On a Sunday night it was very quiet, with only 1 or 2 other tables. We were hoping for a little bit more of the excitement that the atmosphere around the restaurant has. We smelled like a Camp Fire after we got home. The wood fire is legit! Over all, a great night out.

Been a fan of the restaurant for a bit now. Sat outside with this visit, which added to my quiet level rating and we were quite early that day, as well. New ownership in some fashion (don't know the details of that) but she came out and said hello to us and thanked us for joining them that evening. We loved the addition she brought to one of the dishes... grilled peaches, burrata etc..yumm.. and we are hopeful things will continue to flourish at Pomerol!

It’s a while since we had been here. Food was disappointing compared to prior visits . Boullabaise was good but a bit overpowered by truffle oil. Pork chop was very fatty and tough. So it seems some dishes are better than others

Our daughter was just home from college and my wife and I chose this place for the three of us. For reasons unknown their system did not have our OpenTable reservation that we had made an hour and a half prior so I suggest calling. FFor something last minute. They had ample room and we got a nice table. The menu is not large but has a solid variety, including a vegetarian plate. My wife ordered bouillabaisse, the seafood special of the day. I ordered steak tartare and a glass of white Bordeaux. Our daughter ordered the burger and fries. My wife seemed to enjoy the seafood but really didn’t comment on it. The steak tartare was just okay...it really needed some black pepper or other spice. The bread served with the tartare was cold and very hard, and after one piece I quit. Our daughter liked the burger but removed the bacon, and I could see why, because it was incredibly chewy, mostly gristle. She got a mountain of fries along side and was easily able to share them with me. The wine was my enjoyment for the meal and I got a second glass, which came as a full pour, whereas the first glass was short. The ambiance is nice and the decor is fine, but the service was meh and with the food falling a bit short and this second try at Pomerol impressing even less than the first, I don’t expect to come back.

Easy parking, nice menu. We enjoyed our dinner but all felt that we were imposing on the waiter for what ever we asked or needed. Seems to be the general thought with others who have dined here as well.

We always enjoy Pomerol. The food is excellent, prepared with classic French techniques, and the service is attentive without being intrusive. I love the fact that they have a wood grill as the centerpiece of the kitchen - it lends a subtle smokiness to the foods - the asparagus in the salad was grilled. I had the rack of lamb and C had steak-frites. For those who must avoid gluten, note that most of the things on the menu are gluten-free.

Since we were the only people (party of 4) in the restaurant plus 2 people at the bar, we thought it was appropriate to ask if Pomerol could turn the music down or move us to a quieter table. I had noted in the reservation that a quiet table would be preferable, since two of us are hearing impaired. The waiter responded in a rude manner that there were no quiet tables since the speakers are spread evenly throughout the room and that only the manager could decide to turn the music level down. The music was decreased, and the waiter delivered all the food as a waiter should, but his manner continued to be unpleasant. Buying a bottle of wine and 4 entrees, I expect pleasant waiters/waitresses and good food. One of the party had very good food, and the rest of us thought our food was merely ok. None of us will be returning, which is too bad since I had enjoyed my dinner at Pomerol about 6 months ago.

This was the most disappointing experience I have had at any Seattle restaurant in the last 5 or so years. The Oyster course was full of shell pieces, the Foie Gras was oily (not awesome for a French restaurant), and the lamb was as fatty as I have ever seen a piece of meat (around 15% was actually edible). It seemed that nobody was in charge that night, with the owners out of town. We asked specifically to speak to the Chef so we could talk through our issues, who reluctantly appeared to apologize for the numerous mistakes. That was fine, but it wasn’t an impressive response given the countless issues with food preparation and cooking. The only plus was that the food was taken off the bill, only charging for the drinks – but that is too little too late when you planned an evening at (allegedly) one of Fremont’s better restaurants. I’d love a response from someone who cares about our experience and how they can improve on the issues.
