We enjoyed the variety of food served and our waiting staff were very helpful. It was a very busy night yet we didn't have to wait long at all. the wine was list is excellent.

Service, atmosphere and food was sensational. Just got a shock when one of the pepper varieties on the plate of peppers was exceptionally hot for my tastebuds- my partner loved that variety though.

Very cool space. Welcoming. And cool and original drink list. Wines that I have never seen on other wine list. Excellent service and knowledgeable staff. The food however was a little disappointing. Lacking flavours (King Prawns), and the steak (small plate) was tough and hard to chew. The Gouda donut sounded interesting, but was just way too greasy. On the other hand, the best garlic bread that I have ever had and good Kangaroo jerky. Prices are high as well. Would go back for a drink. But not for the food.

most wait staff were ambivalent, leaned over us to pour wine, serve drinks.
Had to try to catch eye to place orders.
Even when we first sat down all we were asked was did we want water, not anything else like a glass of bubbles etc.
Food was average
Good wine list though most bottles over $100
the female wait staff a the time was very good
best food was the burger
overpriced
id go for a drink and maybe a bar snack again but that would be it

Had high hopes as a sister restaurant to Ester, but was let down.

- we placed dietary requirements in the reservation, but server wasn't aware
- had to ask for our first drink order
- the potatoes (what we were looking forward to) sold out on a Saturday at 6.30pm (?!). Tables around us had them, we apparently missed out
- an allergen we specified to be excluded came in a dish that was served

I hope this was an exception rather than the rule... but definitely not in the same league as Ester which we love (... albeit at the same price point!)

Very different menu and a wine list that really pushes boundaries. Staff are very attentive and knowledgeable. Has a wine bar vibe, but really shines when approached as a multi-course restaurant. Save Poly for when you have a few hours to really push the boat out. Top courses - pig's ear, flatbread, blood pie. I wouldn't order the crudites - beautiful vegetables but condiments eh.

Visiting from Melbourne and loved the sister restaurant Ester so I thought I’d give Poly a go! We opted to sit at the bar, the staff were very accommodating and friendly and the menu is short but sweet. All the dishes were delicious and beautifully presented, it was clear that only the best and freshest produce had been used. My only criticism is that it felt a little expensive, but it was definitely worth it. We will definitely be back!

Great food! Just the service was not wonderful. Staff seemed uninterested. We wanted to order more drinks and they could not see us trying to wave them down, more than once. But the food more than made up for this!

Poly’s ‘big sister’ Ester is great. We were hoping that Poly would be of the same ilk. Unfortunately, both the food and service were underwhelming.
The food was over salted and there really wasn’t any cohesion in the dishes. They looked good, but were fairly plain in taste. The fish was not cleaned properly and part of it had a very unpleasant taste.
The staff were friendly, but took a long time to take our order and serve our dishes- were saw them ready at the pass, but they were there for quite a while.

Incredibly tasteful and well articulated menu and wine list. Love the open fire cooking. Expected the service would be a touch less casual or perhaps more intuitive and suggestive, but great nevertheless. Will be back!

We came as a party of 7 and were incredibly impressed. Having been a huge fan of Ester we wanted to see if Poly was in the same league - and it certainly was! we asked our waitress to "just feed us" which she did brilliantly.
We had a couple of UK guests with us from London and they were too very impressed.

Without question we will be back ...however whilst I recognise that Poly is a wine bar - please could a few more choices of beer be offered!?

Congratulaitons on a superb dining experience with outstanding unique food

Service and venue was great. The food was good, but most definitely overpriced. Understand that it is a wine bar, so by all means great for that. We made the mistake of going there for dinner. $24 for a piece of paté on its own without bread, so we had to order bread separately for another $12. Although the food was good, it wasn’t extraordinary and didn’t justify the extremely steep price. In terms of a dining experience, you could get much more for your money elsewhere.

The restaurant was great for a nice meal. The beef tartar with the grilled cheese was super clever and tasty! The octupus was my favorite! The desserts didn’t impress as much, they just had something missing in them. Overall really nice experience.

We dined on a Sun evening. It wasn't busy, menu was already limited but key chicken dish and key salad had sold out leaving very few options. When we moved from cocktails to wine, the white wine was taken away from table to go into a communal ice bucket and we had to ask for the glasses to be filled. The waiter then suggested he just leave the white on the table getting warm so he didn't have to monitor our glasses!!!!. Not even close to the service or quality of Ester. Food was good but tiny portions for the price. Overall not the experience we expected or were hoping for.
