Pino's Vino e Cucina
On the bare, brick walls hang copper pots and pans from my parents kitchen in Rome. The very kitchen where I first experienced how food, how true hospitality, can make a person feel. And for you, I want this same feeling of warmth, comfortability, and, of course, happiness. To give this to you, is a gift for me.
Each day when I step into this room, where the soft music bounces off dark, rich timber, and the scent of fresh ingredients waft in from the kitchen, I am home. For me, life is simple, and good food and wine should be simple. Our menu uses fresh, traditional Italian produce put together with a little panache’, a trait Inherited from my father, Pino, whom this restaurant is named after.
Our cocktails are spirited and constructed with pride. Our wine, of course, is Italian - generous, full, and bold.
I truly hope our food and our hospitality make you feel at home, among good friends.
Matteo Margiotta, Owner and friend.

Wonderful neighbourhood gem. Professional service, incredible food and lovely romantic ambiance. A must visit.
A fabulous evening from start to finish. The owner greeted us and made us feel very welcome. Our celebration was acknowledged and the attention to detail was consistent throughout the night. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back! Thank you
As always this place is a must, people need to find this place and try. It’s next level for a spot in Alexandria
The service at Pino's was amazing. They made us feel very welcome and even had a prosecco on arrival for us as they knew it was for a birthday. Food was delicious, especially the eggplant parmagiana, the duck and always good to see suppli on an Italian menu.
Will definitely be back to try things we didn't.
Massive favorite! Highly recommend for all occasions
We had a fabulous experience at Pino and would high recommend to Italian foodies.
A great dinner spot - lovely warm setting on a winters evening with hearty food and friendly staff. Highly recommended1
There is a warm glow as you approach this restaurant because of the many candles burning inside. On a cold wet night it beckons you inside. The music was not to my taste and too loud which spoilt the ' glow' factor. However, the food was very good and we were attended to by a generous Italian waiter.
The food and wine was delicious and the service very friendly and helpful. Relaxed atmosphere and great music! Will definitely be back next time I visit Sydney.
Amazing again. Thanks Giovanni. My old local will not be happy I’ve found this spot
We live locally & I felt like spoiling my bf on a lovely long boozy lunch. It was incredible in every way. The Manager Giovanni was so fabulous. His recommendation on food & wine was bang on.
We will be returning as after as we can. Love it.
I wish Pino’s was my local. It’s the kind of place I would visit often if it was. The ambience was warm and inviting, perfect for a cosy date or just with friends. The service was caring and friendly - no hipsters here. It felt like how restaurants ought to be - delivering on good service but without the attitude. The food was thoughtful and delicious.
Overall it felt like there was a lot of heart and soul from the kitchen to the floor staff to the environment. I’ll definitely be back and will recommend to my friends.
Amazing Italian! Loved the food and the cozy and warm environment. I will be definitely coming back!
My favorite italian resturant in Sydney: delicius food and great wine!
Great little restaurant in our local area. Nice relaxed atmosphere, not too busy.
My partner ordered a meat dish and wasn't advised by the waiter that it didn't come with any sides, he would have ordered sides if he had known. In saying that we felt like the main dish was a little overpriced as you then had to order sides on top. He went home a little disappointed and hungry.
My meal and our friends pasta meals were lovely, but came out around 5 minutes apart from each other which we found a bit odd.
The weight staff were lovely but were a bit slow and not very attentive.
Wonderful night celebrating my partners birthday. We were welcomed with a glass of bubbles to celebrate. Food was really good the special prawn tagliatelle was so tasty and should be added to the menu to stay. The tiramisu was the best we have had in a long time and huge serving! We will definitely return. Thank you.
Very popular and very tight seating times, would have liked to relax and chill a bit longer
Excellent, innovative Italian food, with beautiful ingredients. The service was exemplary - not too attentive, but keeping a close eye on our needs. We will be back!
After our 2nd visit to this neighbourhood gem of a restaurant, we left loving it more than we did after the first visit. It's the best Italian food we have had outside of Italy, easily! But it's the whole experience at Pino's that makes it special. Matteo is the perfect host and they are just as serious about their wine and cocktails as they are about their food. We sat at the bar for the first visit and it's a lot of fun - you feel like you're right in the middle of the action! We had a table for four the second time and we loved that too. It's cosy in there without being over-crowded, as some restaurants are guilty of. It's now our 'go-to' restaurant and we'll be back, for sure! Grazie mille! :)
The service was awesome but the guy that served us a lil bit arrogant when telling the menu as if we “couldn’t afford” it. The food is good and the place is great.
Great overall experience! Would try again for sure
Great evening with friends to celebrate a double birthday and made more special by the receipt of complimentary champagne on arrival. We were touched and found the service excellent. The double seating with an early and a late sitting is less to our liking and we did feel rushed at the end.
Just very good Italian. The lamb Ragu was gorgeous and would be back just for that. Struggled with the Italian wine list but our headwaiter was very informative and picked some very nice wines for us. We didn't try the desserts but were happy to finish on a few beautiful hard cheeses at the end there.
Excellent attentive service. We had the Baccala, Eggplant Parmigiana, tagliolini with spanned crab and the risotto. None of them could be faulted. Definitely be going back....many times hopefully
Fabulous good, Fabulous service every time. Highly recommend!
Absolute gem of a restaurant! Pinos was a great find; right in the middle of Erskineville/Alexandria. So delicious! Loved the weeknight special of rock lobster tagliatelle. The waiters were great at guiding us with the amount of food to order and the wine to choose with our meal. Really nice!!
Really yummy authentic food. All the pasta is fresh and made on the premises. We will be back. The alcohol is expensive.
The food was good but let down by the service. We had a 1.5hr sitting and arrived 5 min late for our booking. Our mains took a while to come out and we were rushed out the door by the waiter who said that our meal was rushed because we had arrived late!
One of the best in Sydney I'd say. Great prices, great food, great cocktails, fantastic service.
Just as awesome as the last time we dined.
Sat at the bar, excellent cocktail list and great little wine list.
Food and service was on point also.
We'll become regulars in time.
I could not fault anything!! The only thing they could have done to go above and beyond is give it to us for free. :) but it was worth every dollar!!!
My local and I adore the place. It’s absolutely brilliant.
A thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. We will definitely be back.
A wonderful restaurant with beautiful dishes and a great range if wines. A bit expensive but will defenitely be back when i save some mpre $
Blink and you’ll miss it, pinos is tucked away within Alexandria. They offer a wide selection of wines and a carefully curated menu. I recommend getting an antipasto to start as their cheeses are wonderful. The staff are friendly welcoming and helpful when you’re stuck on what cheese to pick. Wonderful atmosphere 10/10 would recommend. A little expensive but worth it.
Really enjoyable Sunday lunch with close friends and family.
Interesting decor, with lots of attention to detail. Although quite dense with 'rustic' dark timber joinery and features, the gentle lighting and open feel from the perimeter windows provides a lovely ambiance.
The food was excellent across all courses; gorgeous, melt in your mouth beef carpaccio, homemade pate (including a few shavings of amazing lardo (not 'lard')), a full flavoured plate of fregola with prawns and asparagus and a cleansing, white chocolate semifreddo with rhubarb and chocolate shavings were all great.
Capped off with a super refreshing amaro from the Italian Alps, you couldn't really ask for more.
creative, delicious italian. cosy atmosphere. super friendly staff, amazing wine list. a beautiful neighborhood restaurant. will be heading back to Pino’s for sure.
Ticked all the boxes for me. From the moment the doors opened i felt comfortable. Great food, great fitout and the waiters new the menu inside and out. Highly recommend.
We ordered 3 entrees plus bread and olives to share between 8 people, and they bought out 3x each of the dishes. We had to tell them to take the extra dishes back (it was a ridiculous amount of food). The staff where then quite rude and it just made things quite uncomfortable. The mains were not great, pasta undercooked and other dishes bland. The wine was great, the atmosphere really good, exactly the type of place we wanted for my husbands birthday. The service and food just let it down.
Highly recommend Pino's Vino e Cucina we were in Sydney prior to leaving for our holiday to Vietnam. We did a random google of resturants in the area we were staying and were fortunate enough to get a booking at Pino's Vino e Cucina everything was perfect.
Great start to our holiday hadn't left the country but already living it up.
