Great restaurant. Owner very friendly and spent time talking to my daughter and me. Exchanged empty creme brulee bowl for new one!!
This was my second dinner at Pimienta and I enjoyed it very much. I am glad that I gave it another try. My companion and I both enjoyed delicious meals (food and wine), the service was attentive and helpful, and the ambiance was very nice (busy but still not too loud for conversation across the table). This is a gem of a restaurant in the North Tacoma/Federal Way area. I'll definitely be back!
We are happy that you enjoyed your experience at the restaurant. Thank you for your patronage and thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. See you at the restaurant soon!
One of the best restaurants in all of south Puget Sound. Tucked away in Federal Way but worth finding
We were greeted immediately, glasses of wine showed up right away and the appetizer we ordered shortly thereafter. The food, ambiance and service were outstanding.
I personally have never had a bad meal or cocktail. Customer service is on point and the owner check on our group several times. Great overall experience.
This was my first visit to Pimienta after recently moving to the area. I will definitely return! The menu looked really appealing and my meal that night was delicious. I had the Pimienta salad, seared scallops, and a warm apple pie for dessert. The service suffered that evening though there were few diners at the time. For example, I ordered a bottle of wine and was instead brought a glass. I had plenty of time for the meal so I ended up drinking three glasses for virtually the same price as the bottle would have been (but I would have had wine left to take home with the bottle). Still I look forward to returning soon.
Very enjoyable vibe. Great food and loved the small venue.
Love Pimienta! Food is always delicious. Best restaurant in Federal Way, wish it was closer to where I live.
Excellent meal, excellent service. We have been dining at the Pimienta Bistro since it's opening several years ago and have recommended to all our friends. They also have enjoyed this establishment. The food is exceptional and not your ordinary menu. Its wonderful to try new food choices on the menu.
Small and friendly place with an eclectic and delicious menu. A bit surprising for a small strip mall in Federal Way, but the food is excellent and the service was well-timed and friendly without being intrusive.
Food was perfect!!! Chick peas are a must have! Not sure if they are finger food or not
Love this place! Service and food are spectacular. Recommend highly. We had burgers and paella. Love the vibe, so relaxing.
I was really excited to ear at pimienta, but sadly was disappointed by my experience. I sent back a dirty dish, had bacon soup with no bacon in it and the lamb dish my husband ordered was flavorless, to say the least. My husband did order a side car from the bar and said that was the best part of the night. Sorry pimienta, but for us, it was not good. I'm happy there is an upscale, Latina owned restaurant in Federal Way and really want to see more. The room was packed, so apparently folks like it. Perhaps we went on a bad night, but we will never know since we won't be back.
This was a first time visit. We were quite taken with the quaint atmosphere, The service was very friendly. The food was very good.
This was our 2nd visit and enjoyed it again
Awesome everything! We were amazed we had not heard about the place earlier...we've been missing out.
We had not been to Pimiento in several years, although we live 8 minutes away. In the past when we went, we ordered a glass of wine and they were pretty stingy with the pours. This time we ordered a bottle, which is a better value anyway. We didn't quite finish it all but we were allowed to cork it and take it home. The food was very good! My husband had the paella and I had the mesquite grilled scallops and prawns. The seafood was quite fresh and the food arrived piping hot. The servings were pretty generous. We'll definitely go back after this experience!
We had 8 of us celebrating my bday . Many had to drive hour or so , but said it was well worth it . Food was delicious, quite impressed with the diverse menu . Will definitely come back
A family run restaurant that was a great treasure of a find. Wonderful service and fantastic food!! We will be back.
Good was amazing wait staff was not the best but the food was amazing!
Another excellent dinner. Quaint restaurant. Family owned and operated... owner and staff are friendly, however service may be a bit slow, due to minimal staffing.
Great find first time there worth the trip to try.
Food was amazing! Josh did a great job of managing the restaurant .. it was unexpectedly very busy, so everyone was pitching in! Nice to see the collaboration. Food was delicious and piping hot... the new Malbec/Sarah rose was a perfect compliment too!
As many reviews have previously said, "don't be fooled by this restaurant being in a small plaza next to a nail salon". The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The only problem we had was choosing what great plates and drinks to order off the menu. We will definitely be returning.
What an incredible find! Not in the vicinity often, but we liked it so much we may go out of our way to revisit. Charming interior. We were lucky enough to have chef/owner at our table assisting us with our choices. Warm and personable, she clearly takes pride in her work - deservedly so. Good variety of cocktails, some with real flair, but without the pretentiousness of most places these days. Every menu item is intriguing - wanted to try all the appetizers. Settled on pork belly, ahi, and queso melt. All exceeded our expectations. Licked the plates clean. Entrees are equally well executed with a nice balance of flavors. Pork loin is extremely difficult to get right. This one was perfectly done. Huge portion, shared with my companions. All raved. Same for scallops. The prices are downright reasonable for the quality of ingredients and preparation. Hats off to the chef.
Fantastic tapas night once again. Love this place!!
Looking for a great place for a special occasion, date, or just a nice dinner out? Don't look further than Pimienta Bistro and Bar. We have now visited four times working our way through the menu and have never been disappointed. The food is outstanding, the restaurant charming (well, once you get inside) and the prices reasonable for an upscale meal. Blanca and her staff do a great job. This is Federal Way's hidden culinary treasure!
Food was amazing! Chef was personable and knowledgable.
This is a hidden gem! It is a small intimate restaurant and the food NEVER disappoints.
As always, this chef knows how to cook and dazzle with presentation. Previously we met the owner/chef and were warmly welcomed. Alas not this time, but we will be back again for the best food in Western Washington. The small bottles of white sangria were perfect for summer and the offered reds were well chosen for the accompanying dishes of Pear Ravioli (wonderful), Pork Loin (the best anywhere) with company of roasted vegetables in sauce and polenta. This small bistro outshines many others with their big menus, big prices, and small attention to cooking for all their pretensions. Perfect for us and always appreciated and admired.
Excellent Bistro in an out of the way location but well worth the drive. Menu is outstanding although it has been the same for a long time. I would think they might vary it up with a more summer menu this time of year. That being said, the food is creative and excellently prepared and well presented. Prices are reasonable the the staff (Josh, etc.) are attuned to your every need. Well worth the drive if you are in the Seattle-Tacoma area.
This is a hidden gem, the food was great along with the service. The only problem is the limited parking. The menu is diverse.
This is a small, intimate place with excellent service. Great, quiet background music to enhance the enjoyment of a wonderful meal. We hope to go again when we are back in the area.
We travelled from Seattle to your lovely restaurant. I loved the décor. The margaritas were a perfect start, the wine with dinner perfect. But the food - oh, I was so pleased with the lamb shank - absolutely delicious! Tender, fall off the bone perfect. The truffle oil fried French fries my husband had were excellent. We enjoyed the desert (crème brulee) and your French pressed coffee was the best. All around scrumptious meal. And our server was so helpful and attentive. Her patience and kindness was everything one would want. Thank you! We will be back!
Pimienta Bistro is our go to date night place. Always a good atmosphere, fabulous food and amazing drinks.
Excellent in every way
Awesome food. Favorite place to eat at.
Perfect date night, very special and unique ambiance, with romantic music (Louis Armstrong, etc). Great looking place with beautiful, whimsical colors and rustic decor. My date night was that much more special ad romantic for being here! I love that there was local art featured throughout. Exciting menu and beautiful presentation. Featured Chefs names on the cover of the menu gave classy accountability and ownership of the fare. Lots of seafood- done right!! Our waitress was adorable, mild and obviously kind. She was wonderful to us.
The food was delicious, thoughtful, smartly paired and well executed.
The friendly neighboring table mentioned that they make a ritual of coming here regularly even though they've moved out of the area.
I cannot wait to go back.
I had the linguini with shrimp/lobster; it was very well made. However, for my taste, it had too much pepper. I tasted it before the server offered more ground pepper and that’s when I realized that the dish was heavily peppered. Other than that, the food was outstanding and was served pipping hot. So nice NOT to be served “luke warm” food....
Very good food, relaxed atmosphere, friendly service.
